So I was contacted today by the supervisor working on getting the repair done to my car. This is the recording of the call... You: Okay, so can you repeat that for me one more time? Participant: Yeah, that we will fix it um, if you will allow us to fix it, but we will be using our vendor. You: Right, And you did, you did reiterate to the general manager that I did use your guys' vendor once already that they did a bad job on it. And then I also went and did the 2 quotes that we had talked about. And that wasn't my idea, if you remember, right? That was your idea. So I did go out on my own to go get those 2 quotes Participant: I said, if you wanted to do that, and I said that I was going to talk to my team about other possible vendors You: Right. Participant: I spoke with the technicians, which I did, and if we had a different vendor, we would use our vendor 1st You: We did use your vendor You: And no, that is not what you said entirely Participant: That was my commitment You: You told me (gets cut off) Participant: Okay, sir, well, that's what we stand on. I have nothing else to say. I did it inform my location general manager and that's where we stand. You're more than welcome to come in Monday, I just wanted to make sure that I communicated that with you, You: Okay. You: can you tell me what the general manager's name is for the location? Participant: Yeah, I mentioned it to you the other day. It is Matthew secarian You: can you tell me who the supervisor was? I spoke with prior to you when I initially took the vehicle for the repair? Participant: Um, I believe it was Justine. You: what's was her last name? . Participant: Ever Diaz. - I have this phone call recorded and am going to submit it to corporate as you can hear when she gets irritated I'm simply asking about supervisors for reference. About 15 years ago, my wife and I had our first experience with Carmax, and we decided at that point that we wouldn't buy cars elsewhere. I absolutely loathe the pushiness of salespeople at other car lots, to the point I won't even browse other car lots. We bought our last 5 cars at Carmax, and all have been at Fresno, Visalia, and Pleasanton. This most recent time was at Visalia, and it was just as phenomenal as the rest of the experiences. No pressure, no pushiness, just buy if you want and no worries if you don't. I wish other dealerships would get the idea, but they won't. read more

Recently there, Service is excellent everyone working there is extremely pleasant and helpful. I honestly wish that all places treated people the way that Customer Service did at the Visalia location made my experience much more pleasant than being without a vehicle because of an accident highly recommend them. read more

Why do they open at 11 am so late??? No body wants to be car shopping when it's already hot outside in the middle of summer. Went to go look at a Camry they had listed. I loved it online. I bought my mom a 2015 Mazda 3 on March 28, 2026. Today she noticed one of the tires was flat. She called CarMax service in Visalia. They said the warranty does not cover tires because how do they know she didn't drive over a nail after purchase. The warranty clearly states it covers tires in the first thirty days. My mom needed the situation addressed so she went to a nearby mom-and-pop place and they said the problem was a valve. They did not charge her. So what does the 30 day warranty cover? It says "tires" but does that mean something else? How do I resolve this issue? read more

Stopped in a few weeks ago the brand new CarMax in Visalia to look at purchasing a GMC Denali truck that was in stock. I wandered around the lot for about 15 minutes with no sales person in sight. I was lucky that the truck was unlocked, so I was able to decide that I wanted to proceed with a test drive and potential purchase. I finally decided to go inside and look for a sales person. The lobby was full with a lot of people sitting around. I learned from the ladies at the counter that I needed to schedule an appointment for help. I don't have time or patience for that. read more

The sales person was patient and thorough, information was as easy to get, the price was clear, and the process straight forward. I wanted to buy a latex model used car with all the current safety options. Thomas, the sales person, listened carefully when I discussed what I was looking for. We talked about the vehicles I thought would best meet my needs. He brought up more than a dozen cars the company had in inventory in the region . He provided complete information on each including repair history. Thomas patiently answered my many questions as we narrowed down the alternatives . I never felt pressured. I settled on one I wanted to test drive. The sales person arranged to have that car brought to Visalia at no cost to me. He allowed me to test drive the car and demonstrated how each knob, button, and switch operated. I was skeptical about the car buying process employed by this dealership. Had an appointment scheduled for 5:30. Was not seen until 6:30 and was repeatedly told it would only be a ten minute wait because someone was on their "lunch break". Ended up waiting over an hour to be helped. Then was rushed and told they closed at 8. They tried selling me a car with multiple scratches and a popped out bumper. Had to ask them to fix the scratches. Never left with the car because they closed at 8, if they would've helped me on time everything would've been figured out. read more

Highly recommend selling your car somewhere else. After selling my car to this location, the check bounced. I immediately called to let them know, then they blamed my bank. I went to my bank, and they blamed Carmax. After contacting the very unprofessional employees at carmax again, they were able to reissue the check. However, they wanted me to come back for the 3rd time to get a check for the bank fee they created. Go somewhere else. Don't play the cat and mouse game with this broke location. read more

Do not buy a vehicle from this Visalia location. I purchased a truck that did not have properly aligned headlights. The headlights could not be aligned because they were broken, and they refused to fix it within the 90-day period. The mechanic was rude, unprofessional and embarrassing to say the least. Buyers beware. Don't buy anything here unless you can guarantee that you don't need to come back for a repair because the Branch Manager will refuse to fix any expensive ones. read more

I have purchased four cars from Carmax over the last ten years or so and I used to like their cut and dry selling experience as who has time to spend an entire day at a car lot? Find your car online, reserve it, go in and buy it! Easy! On a Wednesday around 12p, I found myself in a position where I needed a car ASAP so I turned to my old faithful and started the process. Walked into Carmax with a pre-approval letter from my bank, a couple of cars I was interested in test driving and I was told I had to make an appointment. I explained that I didn't need financing, etc....nope. I was told I had to come back later at my scheduled appointment time. They were not busy and I could see at least six or seven agents milling around. So I made the appointment for several hours later that day, I walked around the lot looking at their inventory--and was very disappointed. They had very few cars on the lot. I left and found the car I bought at Giant Chevrolet where I didn't need to make an appointment, I was treated very well, and I will never again buy a car from Carmax nor will I recommend them to friends or family. read more
