This auto dismantled place is the worse in Fresno County. This is the first and last time I'll be going there.

Staff not knowledgeable. They only look up in a catalogue and try to price you out for something not understanding what part you need. Asking for a core charge on a replacement part from a junkyard is absurd. If I have a part missing why would I pay a core charge? There's no way in hell. I can replace that part because I'm buying it to replace a missing part. read more

Called in asking for a specific part and a specific model and as previous reviews stated, they have no idea what they have. Not just parts, but vehicles as well. If they could change this in the future I think I would stop by sometime. Person who answered the phone sounded nice though. read more

So, this isn't a review as much as it is a complaint against the poor staff,specifically the women that work at the windows. Now, I am not against company rules, but there are always exceptions to the rule because the customer is always right. Would losing me as repeat customer hurt their business, miaybe not at first, but over time, absolutely it would. The reason behind my frustration is because I bought a transmission less than 30days ago, with warranty, an additional $60. The rule: must have receipt to make exchange. My son misplaced receipt. I called and explained the situation and asked if they could search their system either with part sold and/or debit card. This isn't my first time there and I was hoping for some flexibility as a repeat customer. Not that it matters, but i'll take my search for another transmission elsewhere. read more

My car broke down on a road trip to Fresno, but thankfully it happened once we were in town. A friend inspected our car and found a defective part. He suggested we try calling westside auto since we needed the part the same day. We called, got a quote, and picked up the part within an hour. The process was seamless and we were able to get back on the road. read more

This place is an actual joke. Not only do they not keep inventory on items, they force you to pay three dollars just for admission, if you check and don't have the items they won't pay you back. The people are rude, the taco truck is cussing people who won't buy one out. Just an all out rude experience. They also try to force you to pay for items that no one buys read more

Pricing is ridiculous. They're all over the place with their prices. Only go here if you absolutely need to. Guy up front in charge of tire tread pricing is absolutely blind, tried to charge me extra saying that the tires were still usable when they were absolutely bald, they don't care about the safety of their customers only the little extra $7 here and there they can pocket. Not to mention much less organized than other junk yards in the area. No system for inventory so you gotta roll the dice and hope they have the car you need. read more

i didn't even make it in, i paid the fee and they had to "search" through my tool bag, instead of opening and looking to see there was no parts worth a penny in there you should have let me go in, but he pulled out my bluepoint kit and open it UPSIDE down spilling my sockets, pulled out a single LAWN MOWER spark plug and a blown 20amp fuse i had in there and set them on the table as if i was a criminal, (BEFORE ENTERING) i asked him if he was done yet because he was picking through my stuff like he was at a yard sale, he then said "you know what, you can leave" and they didn't give me my 3 dollar entry fee back either, all because they are worried abut tiny little object, and i was there about to buy the entire front end of a car and they lost out on a $500 customer. i went down to Budget and they got me better parts for $200 and removed them for me. read more

I know it's a junk yard but this place is disgusting. First of all it's a huge mess, smells like dead cats, prices are ridiculous. No customer service. The refund policy is a joke they let dirty nasty taco trucks sell food in their parking lot with no hot running water. The taco truck lady literally wears a tank top. They have signs everywhere stating no cash refund. That does not say no refund. Just that they won't return the cash. I will never ever buy another part here. I will never ever go there for a damn thing. Rip off. Picknpull and ipullupull will give credit. I wanted to shop there again. I needed a different part. That's all. They refuse to even help out. Too expensive. Terrible customer service. No customer rights. Make sure the part is right and in good condition. Clean and inspect the part. They will not refund you YOUR CASH. They are crooked and do not follow their own pricing charts. Better to go to pick a part or maybe ipick uptick. Need to boycott, file BBB complaints against these crooked businesses. Westside Auto Dismantling has really gone downhill over the past year or so. They used to abide by their publicly listed prices, but now you shouldn't trust what they have on the sign. The management/ownership likes to make up their own prices out of thin air rather than go by the posted prices. To back up what other reviewers have mentioned, they'll rip you off. For example, center consoles are listed as $30. So we pulled a center console and brought it up to the window and they told us it was $150. Why the $120 price difference? Because it was "specialty." But where did the number $150 come from? The sign says consoles are $30. It's pretty black and white. $150 is about the same price as buying a console in good condition on eBay, yet the one we had brought up was dirty, 10 years old, and had cut wiring. There was no negotiating with the girls at the window, that's what their boss told them so take it or leave it. (We left it.) Standard policy at self service yards is to charge customers the price that's listed on the board. NOT to make up prices out of thin air based on the specialness of the part. That's the attraction of pulling parts yourself. Do the work yourself and save some money. If I wanted to spend $150 on a center console, I wouldn't be at a junkyard. In my experience, this has been a repeat problem with the pricing at Westside. The same situation with pricing being made up happened to me on at least 3 separate occasions, to the point that I now take my business elsewhere. What prompted me to write this review is my friend being overcharged $100 for a door when the publicly listed price is $66. They're still ripping people off, and it's not okay. Go to one of the other local self service yards if consistent pricing and not getting ripped off is something that's important to you. read more

Me & my dad went to buy parts & we paid a little compared to Pick-n-Pull. I liked the service Cashiers were very friendly & explained everything to my dad. Idk about these other reviews but my experience was awesome & I will be a returning customer. Maybe the bad reviews are the people caught stealing cuz we seen that. Excellent selection and friendly staff. What sets this place apart from others: 1. Really good selection 2. Diverse selection: RVs, vans, tractor trailers, motorcycles, scooters, trailers, etc. most other parts yards only have basic sedans, vans and trucks. 3. Short lines 4. Great prices 5. Friendly cashiers Not important but they had a paved parking lot, a large covered area at the cashier windows (nice during the heat) and even a taco truck in the parking lot. I'd highly recommend coming here first before checking anywhere else. read more

This place used to a good yard when they were off of highway 180. When the state bought their land to expand the highway and they moved to the current location things changed big time! My main gripe is the difference in the prices on the board and the prices they want to charge you when you go to check out! The ladies checking you out have no idea what you have and the gentleman helping them just makes up prices based on condition of the part!! I had an alternator and the price doubled because it looked "brand new"!! The guy did the same thing to another customer with some seats they had pulled. They also want to give you a full cavity search as you leave. There is two other self serve auto dismantlers in the Fresno area that are leaps ahead of these guys. I will not ever go back. read more

Although I am reporting them to the State on Monday, its important to know the prices they show on the public board, is different than what they charge. According to "Kayla" they have different prices up to 20 listings. She also maintains that providing two prices is their standard policy. read more

Been comming here off and on for the past year finding little things for my 18 year old car so far every visit i have found something to purchase. the prices seem pretty decent and all the staff are friendly. and somtimes they have a taco truck in the parking lot its nice to get a bite to eat after a day of scavaging :). read more

do not go to westside self service auto dismantlers. all their parts are over priced. transmissions are $250. engines are $350. and $100 core charge. seats start at $75 to $150. pick n pull all parts are cheaper by 50%. read more

I wish I could go to zero stars or even negative. My first and last trip to the dump involved absolutely no help and no instructions on some of their most important rules. Ignorance is never a good defense but if you would like repeat customers you may want to provide better direction. Long story short they tried to charge me for a part that I brought in thinking that I took it off of one of their cars. The only thing that kept me from making a very big scene was the fact that the part was broken anyway so I told them they could keep it. I'm assuming it will go up for sale in about five minutes. Don't waste your time here, they are a bunch of villains and thieves. If you work for a corporation or business that has shady business practices,then you are just a shady. If even one person is saved by this review my job is done. read more
