I received a call today from the owner asking me to take down my review because it was misleading. I was stunned. Original review - I'm leaving three stars because the dry cleaning is great. The reason I am writing this review is to warn people to not take alterations here. I thought this would be a one stop shop, but they completely ruined my satin skirt. I took it in with the request of a small hole repair, and the person who did the sewing completely ruined it. I am attaching photos of the before and after. I intend to talk to the owner this evening to see what they can do. I truly cannot believe how bad it turned out. I could have done a better job myself.

On top of that, I was really disappointed by the behavior of some of the other customers. It seems like in this town, a lot of elderly people feel entitled to cut in front of you even when you've clearly been waiting. It's as if their time is more valuable than anyone else's. We made the mistake of taking a handful of my daughter's dresses in for alterations. As my daughter tried on each one, the owner, Julie, pinned the dress and described how she would approach the alteration. Her quotes were very reasonable so we agreed, setting a pick up for a few weeks later. The dresses were NOT READY ON TIME, and the PRICE WAS ALMOST DOUBLE the original quote. Adding insult to injury, NOT ONE OF THEM FIT RIGHT, AND JULIE HAD AN ATTITUDE when we went back to get them refit a second time. After a brief discussion about how the price was double and not one of them fit, we admitted that we were no longer confident that Julie would be able to fix them. I asked for 1/2 of our money back to get the dresses refit somewhere else. Julie took our contact information but failed to respond - which is why I am, for the first time, willing to be very negative and say - UNLESS YOU WANT TO THROW AWAY BOTH YOUR CLOTHES AND YOUR MONEY - DO NOT GO HERE FOR CLOTHES TAILORING.

He is also difficult to get a hold of because he is allegedly based in Colorado. If you need alterations for a shirt he made you, good luck with that! Also, while he claims (and retracted, ironically) that he also specializes in women's shirts, it is obvious from the shirt I ordered that he is at best quite poor in crafting women's clothing. The shirt he made for me is really a man's shirt with women's measurements. There is no darting or princess seams, and fits exactly how a man's shirt would on a woman's body. While he claimed in person that he made women's clothing, he retracted this statement on the phone. A few months later after his "alterations" to the shirt, he denied he made that retraction and refuses to refund my money. The shirt still hangs in my closet and is so ill-fitting I can't even wear it under a sweater. Keep in mind this shirt cost me $160. One shirt. That still looks bad under a sweater. Again, beware of Richard Agren/The Shirt Tale, and keep in mind he is not authorized to make in-person transactions in Carmel!!!
