You pick out dresses you like and take them in a fitting room where they help you put it one. You've got an hour and you can try one as many within that time. Nice dresses and staff was great, my daughter asked to try on a couple of dress off a mannequin and she was super nice about it. Brought my daughter in law and her baby and 1 of my daughters friend. Carmel by the sea parking is horrendous. Just might have to park a block or so. Recommend this place! read more

My daughter & I had an appointment with Vanessa on Saturday. I wasn't expecting the best experience since I was honest and said this is our first time trying on dresses and the wedding is 18 months out. I was completely wrong! Vanessa was absolutely amazing, helpful, wonderful and everything else between amazing and spectacular! Our appointment was an hour so we arrived early to browse and see if anything caught my daughter's eye. It just happened that Vanessa's previous appointment finished early so she started with us immediately. My daughter showed her 2 dress pictures she liked. Vanessa pulled about 15 dresses. She helped every step of the way. My daughter was thrilled and I was in happy tears. It was an amazing experience. We narrowed it down to 2 dresses. We will be going back with my daughter's bridal party so they can see them and shop for the bridal party & mother of the bride and groom dresses. I will forever be grateful for Vanessa. Terrible experience overall. I was flying from Chicago to Carmel for my wedding and wanted to make sure my wedding dress was not wrinkled for the big day. Epiphany boutique assured me they would professionally steam my dress and when they deliver it back to me open it up to review together. Well, when my dress was dropped off it had a large water stain on the front of my dress and another one on the back of my dress. It was shocking. No one said a word about it when the dress was dropped off. When I called to ask about the stain, they accused me of buying my dress second hand and already getting it dry cleaned because the garment bag had "Davis imperial cleaners" on it, which was my tailor. Let me be clear, my dress was a brand new jenny yoo dress that I had double checked before ever dropping it off to epiphany boutique. The customer service was appalling and I straight up asked why I never was called prior to steaming if they noticed a stain and they said we just assumed I bought a second hand dress. Do yourself a favor and take your dress anywhere but here. You are probably better off even steaming your own dress than trusting them. read more

This was my first location to try on dresses and here is the overall impression: Pros: -Gorgeous dresses -Location Cons: -You get put in a room to change by yourself - I went to 4 shops after and every single one had hands on help in the room with true attention to detail and productive feedback -They throw the gorgeous trains on the floor like an old towel. After a couple of these, my sister was the one who carefully displayed the fabrics so I could see the details on the dresses -Staff not wearing masks and did not offer to wear one -They switched the narrative on me. At first when I wasn't that interested in a dress they made it seem like shipping would be completely fine with my timeline for it. However, as soon as I was clearly contemplating it, the shipping timeline estimates shifted. My fam noticed this little fear technique right away too. -Not responsive. I loved a dress and I asked for more professional photos of it since it was in my top 2. I decided completely against the shop when I emailed 2x and they did not follow up Basically, if you want to try on expensive dresses in a dark outdated room where they won't bother helping to make you feel special this place is for you. Reading through the other reviews I would have to say that our experience was very similar in both the good and the bad. Good: Wide array of dresses compared to some other shops. They had some sparkling moscato (after we asked) and it was a clean shop. Stylist seemed to know her stuff and was helpful in answering questions we had. Not so good: We arrived on time for our appointment as was quickly shoo'd out of the shop until the previous appointment was done and they all took their social media photos. Once we were allowed in, we were told that we were allowed to pull only 10 dresses maximum because I would become overwhelmed and not be able to make a decision. Most of the dresses were too small (I am a pretty average sized person) so the experience did not make me feel great. In the end: we loved some of the dresses and had we not found something at another shop the next day, we definitely would have purchased from here. I of course had initially said ehhh not my style but then I tried it on and fell in love! Fortunately for me I fit in the dress off the rack- my wedding was less than a month away, they had to do minimal alterations- this was actually a reasonable price, and they dry cleaned it for me ahead of time too! Another sad review about the owner thinking she's entitled to her "no refund under any circumstance" policy, which the law didn't agree with today, just so you know. There's a star here only because I can't post without one... My daughter's wedding was supposed to be in April this year, but the absence of a certain dress was the final straw in the decision to postpone. June 2020 and my daughter "Said yes to the dress" only to find out eight months later that the style was from 2018 and should have never been in the rotation for try-ons! Phone calls? Many voice mails from me, none from the owner. Feb. 1, 2021, the owner returns my daughter's only voice mail six hours later and apologized for the late response, but she was sick the previous week. Mm, what? Anyway, the dress was discontinued and she had someone "putting something together." It took her eight months to tell us this and 2-1/2 months before the wedding date. I left her my last message the next day, informing her that we weren't given the choice of a knock-off, cancel that effort and to return the deposit within two weeks because, per her website, the dress was never ordered, which renders the "no refund" policy moot. Today a Small Claims judge in Monterey County ordered that she refund the deposit, court filing fee and service fee within 30 days or the next step is legal enforcement. Of course, she couldn't be bothered to show up, so she'll get a letter soon. read more

My experience with SLO Epiphany Boutique sadly took a turn for the worse. I would not recommend this store for brides. First off, I live in Fresno. And there's not many options in town. So my family and I decided to look elsewhere and landed upon Epiphany's SLO location because they "seem" to have a good selection and run a professional store on Instagram. A lot of what they advertised was not available at the SLO location so that was misleading but I decided to keep my reservation anyway. I ended up choosing a very simple corset dress. Size 8. At my first and only fitting, it was decided that the dress needed ZERO body alterations (it fits like a glove), and only needed shortening the bottom, slightly altering the train, and adding a skin tone lining to a small section in the back along the corset. It was agreed that this would be done and the dress would be ready for pick up next visit. During the visit to pick up the dress, the lining was not stitched in the back of the dress. I had to remind Christine this who had said she forgot and didn't write it down. Mind you she was more concerned about eating her chicken fingers for lunch than focusing on my appointment. I was understanding and agreed to have the dress shipped overnight to my house in Fresno the following week. I also paid in full even though I left empty-handed. It was very concerning to leave without it given I get married next weekend. I received the dress today (10/11) and am sadly disappointed in what I received and am now writing this review. The lining is luckily stitched. But the dress and veil were crushed in the box and inside a garbage bag. This is not the way a bride should receive her wedding dress. A proper garment bag with a nicely folded dress inside was the least they could do for me since I didn't go home with my dress and left with unfinished alterations. What a waste of an experience for $2,700 and the travel time to come to their location. read more

I popped my head in once my appointment time arrived just to let the stylist know we were here, in which she did not even acknowledge me until the bride she was helping pointed me out. She said she's be with us shortly. We waited outside for another 15 mins past our appointment time, with no update on when we would be seen. Finally she came out to let us know she was running behind because her prior appointment arrived late. Had we known ahead of time we could have grabbed coffee or breakfast and come back when she was ready, instead we baked outside in the heat. When she finally welcomed us in it was 25 mins past our appointment, completely lacking sensitivity that we may not be able to stay our entire appointment time now. She asked what styles I was looking for, to everything I wanted she replied that "our brides don't like that so we don't have it". She grabbed some dresses I wanted to try on and then told me if I needed any help to ask one of my family members. ? She didn't even want to help me get dressed. If that was a COVID precaution then fine but she didn't even wear a mask the entire time even when I was. So its not like she was following a COVID protocol by saying that. I spent maybe 20 mins out of my hour appointment there simply because I felt so unwanted and unwelcomed, and excluded from the look "her brides" want. This boutique was everything I could ask for. I got my bridal gown through Epiphany and was very smooth from start to finish. I loved that it was somewhat local for me. The boutique is cute and quaint. Christine and Mariam are so welcoming and client-centered. They have a wide selection of dresses and gowns! The shop includes alterations and a veil, which is a very nice added bonus. My bridesmaids also bought their dresses here and the boutique was able to work with all my girls via email and phone, again, great to have! They also shipped to the outta town girls. The young woman who worked there allowed us to browse around, coyly hanging around just in case we needed her assistance. She was very helpful without being pushy or trying to gas me up to buy a dress there. I've gone to other bridal shops in Salinas, and walked out unimpressed with the gowns and the service. As we browsed through the shop, I almost instantly found 4 dresses that I knew I just had to try on. They had more modern styles and a wide selection of trumpet dresses. I didn't bother to look at the price tags because I figured it being in Carmel, was probably way out of my price range. People have always told me, when you find THE dress, you will know. That day, I finally was able to fully appreciate that saying. I knew as soon as my maid of honor zipped it up for me, that dress was designed for my body, it was made for me. Buyer beware!!! I bought my wedding dress here off the rack. It was gorgeous. The woman who helped me with it was very nice. Fast forward to April 2020 and COVID is here. We had to cancel our wedding, but decided to still get married and just broadcast the ceremony over the internet to all the guests. Only problem... epiphany was closed due to COVID and still had my dress! We called multiple times, left messages, drove past the store to see if anyone was there... we couldn't get ahold of anyone. No problem, these things happen. And after having to cancel literally everything else about my wedding, I was pretty flexible by this point! I bought another dress from Nordstrom and married my love :) But now, things are reopening and I FINALLY got ahold of someone at epiphany and explained my situation. The woman responded with "we don't give refunds". But wait... they held my dress hostage for my wedding and I couldn't even get it! I tried to get ahold of them and got no response! I HAD TO BUY ANOTHER DRESS LAST MINUTE! Mind you, the dress I bought from them was off the rack so it's not like they had to special order or ship anything. I tried explaining this to her but she held firm (in a rather rude tone) with her "no refunds" policy. So, I asked her if I could finally come pick up the dress and she said "we're not currently open". Like...what?! So now I'm out the money I paid and I still can't get the dress! This is unreal...and probably legally actionable. Moral of the story... don't bother with this place! Christine did all the alterations and made my veil, even some alterations last minute for my out-of-town bridesmaids! They all looked just amazing! I went to Epiphany for alterations on my wedding dress. They were very responsive and easy to work with for appointments but I am extremely disappointed in the actual work done. I was expecting high quality alterations based off of the reviews and the cost, but that was not the case. The lining was cut down, to what should be a smooth edge was jagged and messy. The pieces were sewn back together unevenly, strings hanging off, patches not matching up. I tried to clean these up but I just got my wedding photos back and honestly these mistakes stand out in every photo. The bustle that was added was just plain white hooks that didn't look very clean or quality for the dress. They were only sewn on a thin layer of my dress so by the end of the night they couldn't handle the weight and ripped big holes in the train of my dress. I got my dress right before my wedding so unfortunately didn't have time to take it back and ask for these to be fixed. At the end of the day I am just super disappointed in the work. If you use Epiphany Bridal be careful and make sure you're really checking everything that is done. read more

The workers here are very judgmental and pick and chose who they want to talk to. I felt discriminated and the girl that worked with us - was extremely rude and had a dry personality. I didn't get her name but she has somewhat of an accent. She was wearing red sandals(you know who you are). She was overly demanding telling us to "take this off", "take that off", "go pick out the dress yourself", "you're too big for this dress". We tried on two and gave up. When we said we were done, her response was "Ok, bye". Very rude and poor customer service. Her personality did not fit the job description. I really enjoyed my experience with Epiphany Boutique. I started my bridal dress shopping experience in the Bay Area, with no luck. I initially had my eye on a specific Pronovias gown and could not find anything that compared. I called around to several shops and finally found one that carried the dress in store. However, after trying it on in person, I couldn't fathom purchasing it from a strip mall in downtown San Jose filled with pushy employees. Being local to the Carmel area, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to get in touch with Epiphany (wishing I would have much sooner than I did). I reached out to them to see if they could order the specific Pronovias gown I was looking for and was pleased to find out they could. I made an appointment and tried on a few other gowns in their shop just to make sure I was making the right choice. I eventually went ahead with ordering the Pronovias gown that I loved and am so glad that I did. The shop is fairly small and a little tight, but the overall feel of the place is welcoming - customer service is excellent. This is a no-fuss type boutique, they get you in the dressing room within minutes of walking in. The ladies don't follow you in to assist you, but are definitely nearby to help if you need it. I liked that about this shop, I wasn't too fond of being followed around the entire time at other shops. The couch area is comfy and inviting, my bridesmaid loved coming with me to my appointments due to this. We both appreciated how straightforward the employees were, their honesty throughout the process was much appreciated. I luckily slipped into the 'free alterations and veil' deal they had a while back. Although they do not offer this deal anymore, I would still highly recommend this boutique for alterations and veil. I was more than happy with the way my dress turned out and was thrilled to see that it was thoughtfully steamed before I picked it up. My daughter made an appointment at Epiphany Boutique after friends of hers recommended it. She went with friends and I to try on wedding dresses. The lady helping didn't make it a great experience. We couldn't take photos as we were told we might steal designs. They also don't help you put on the dresses. My daughter found a dress and the sample fit, but my daughter wanted a little more room so she could eat at the wedding. The lady that helped us said she'd order the dress a size bigger and that would work. The dress came 5 months later, and my daughter was very excited to see it. It was too small, and the staff told my daughter that she'd gained weight. She hadn't. Just what a bride wants to hear is that she's fat. She put the sample on, and it fit just like it did originally. Then the staff said that samples stretch so that's why there was a mistake. They didn't take any of the blame for the mistake. They measured her and ordered another size bigger. They said it would arrive in 6 weeks. My daughter was devastated from that visit. Her friend who went with her said the staff was just mean. The dress came and I flew from out of state to be there for the next fitting, because my daughter was so nervous about the next fitting. It fit and needed some alterations. The staff was ok on that visit. My daughter went back after the alterations, it fit, and she took the dress right away with her as she had no desire to ever go back into that store. The dress she got from there was beautiful, but the shopping experience with the staff was definitely lacking. I'm giving 3 stars for the dress, and I'd say the staff is 1-2 stars. read more

I won't even give this shop a rating! The initial experience was picture perfect. We purchased the perfect dress for my daughters special day right off of the floor. The dress was so perfect no alterations were going to be needed. So my daughter had her dressed secured 10 months before the wedding. The shop was going to hold the dress for us and do a final fitting just in case alterations might be needed. Four months later we had to call off the wedding at no fault of my daughters. A month later I called to see if at all possible to get a refund for the dress. Mind you we bought the dress off of the floor. It never left the shop. It was never altered and we didn't special order it. The person I initially spoke to was rude right off of the bat. " There are no refunds that is our policy". I explained that we didn't order the dress and that we bought it off the floor and left it there in case alterations were needed later. She then put me on hold and transferred me to the store manager again I explained the horrible situation as I am now emotional. She again says "no return policy". I then request to speak to the owner. Surely there are exceptions to the policy. After all the dress never left the store. She then informed me that I had spoke to the owner originally. Now I am really upset. Fast forward another month I go to pick up the dress as I have been told by them that I will just have to try to sell it online. I walk in and inform the store manager that I am there to pick up the dress. Her response to me was where are you having it altered? Really, I told them both the heart breaking story behind the cancellation and all they were concern about was where I was taking it to altered. So disappointed! Not once was there any compassion to the situation whatsoever. You would think because potentially down the line we could be in line for another dress that they would have been kinder and more willing to help us . Christine worked with me on transforming my very big and complicated Lazaro dress into the dress of my dreams. I told her that I loved the details of the dress but didn't want my petite frame to drown in the sea of tulle. Christine did multiple dress fittings with me over the course of three months until she finally whittled it down to my exact vision: fitted in the front and sides, massive train in the back (see pic). She was honest in giving her opinions, precise in her work, and very engaged throughout the whole process. The dress was sent via UPS with a signature; I was told that after she sent it. I had to drive far to pick it up. I sent the payment four separate time before they actually received it (they don't pick up their mail regularly - not my problem!). There are other reviews that were taken down for the same reason. TWO WEEKS BEFORE MY WEDDING I got a call from my sister (maid of honor) and she told me that Epiphany Boutique contacted her to get my number.... How in the world did they not have my number?!!! So now I was even more concerned. I was about to call when I received a phone call from Angela and this is what she told me: THE DRESSES WERE NEVER ORDERED. Yes, never ordered! How does that even happen?! This means that every time I called to check on the status of my dresses, NO ONE EVER BOTHERED TO ACTUALLY VERIFY THAT THEY WERE COMING IN! Continuously, they said that "the dresses were on their way" But no one ever bothered to check with the designer?!!! I was in tears after that phone call. We had to terminate our business with Epiphany Boutique. After searching for two long stressful days, I found some similar chiffon dresses at Macy'http://s.com. Christine made my experience amazing. I couldn't have asked for more! I decided to attend last weekends trunk show with Watters. Boy was I glad I did. The woman from Watters were wonderful. So helpful, but let me do my own thing at the same time. I did a lot of research on-line before going in so I new what design I wanted to look at.( this is something I really suggest if you are picky like me!) I only ended up trying on 3 dresses, #3 was THE dress. So go informed, drink champagne, and pick out that dress finally! Great deal no matter what with free alterations and veil! As every bride does, I looked at all sorts of gowns in magazines and on the Internet. After narrowing it down to one that I loved, I started making phone calls to see if the local bridal shops had it in stock. I had no idea that I was about to go on a wild goose chase: No one had the dress that I wanted to try on. I was also incredibly disappointed in the customer service of the majority of shops. Only a couple even returned my call, and one put me on "hold" while I overheard her chatting with the other shop girl about her night out. One shop in the area was very helpful, but they no longer carried the designer I was seeking. Thus, I decided to cast a wider net, and searched for shops that at least carried the designer (Mon Cheri) of the dress I was after. This is how I came to find Epiphany Boutique in Carmel, which is only two hours away from my front door. I am so happy that I found them!! They returned my e-mail inquiry promptly, and although they didn't have the exact dress I was interested in, they sent me links to some alternatives by different designers. I called them to make an appointment to try on some of these dresses, and ended up loving one of their suggestions by Justin Alexander. I just put my deposit on it today, and can't wait to be fitted for it. Christina and the others, including the owner Christine, made my experience wonderful. My friend that I brought, Caroline, was particularly impressed at their no pressure sales approach. It was important to them for me to be happy, and Christina even said that "it's a big day, take your time." They were so caring and kind, and truly helped to direct me to a gown that was perfect for my venue, style, and figure. My dress makes me feel elegant, beautiful, and sexy in a classy way....just like Sophia Loren or Ava Gardner. The prices really impressed me - I am buying a high quality, couture-feeling dress that INCLUDES all alterations and a custom veil. I understood that alterations (and veils of course) were usually extra at most shops, so this is a big plus for me. Even though Epiphany Boutique was the only shop I visited, I knew that I would be buying my dress from there after my experience. I walked in with 3 months notice to find my dress. I fell in love with the last of a floor model we had to take down 6 sizes. Christine had everything finished within 6 weeks from that day. Christine was leaving town a few weeks before my wedding and she communicated that to me clearly and was available to steam my dress and do any alterations that may have been needed. Mauriam (probably spelled incorrectly) is JUST the woman to buy a dress from. If you had to go solo she is the girl you want supporting you. Their scheduling is on paper books which was different for me because of all the technology I are accustomed to. However, every appointment made was respected. My favorite example is that my first appointment I showed up on time, but the woman scheduled before me had also just shown up. Christine honored my time and gave the lady who was late her next available time. I appreciated this personally, and from a business perspective thought that was BRILLIANT!! If I was insane enough to get married again, I would most definitely come back here to find my dress. However one wedding was enough stress for me! So I will settle for a HIGH recommendation of Epiphany so that others can share in the joy :) Happy dress hunting! read more

The best experience EVER!! Christine was fabulous and literally saved my wedding!! I am extremely happy with the result. I ordered my dress at Los gatos but brought it to epiphany for Alteration. The dress was 4 sizes bigger than what it supposed to be!!! And It looked horrible . But Christian assured me that it's fixable and at the end the dress will look beautiful.I'm so happy I trusted her. She did a wonderful job and in less than 2 weeks I got the dress and she made a beautiful lace vail for me as well. I definitely recommend this place!! read more

Although I didn't buy my dress at Epiphany, I did have them do all the alterations and purchased a bridal belt that really made my dress spectacular. My dress originally had straps, but the Epiphany team was ready and willing to help make my strapless dress dreams come true and it could not have turned out better. Having many of my bridesmaids fly in a different points, they were flexible in letting us come in numerous times to do fittings and try on veils, earrings, and belts. They were gracious hosts and helped make the whole process so much fun! The day before the wedding, I was so busy setting up and getting ready, I let time get away and they stayed open an extra 15 minutes so that I could pick up my dress!!! It was amazing! If I hadn't bought my dress before stepping into Epiphany, I know I would have fallen in love with on of their amazing dresses from their huge selection! read more

Our experience with Christine at Epiphany Boutique was miraculous. We picked several dresses and Christine figured out what style we were looking for and brought my daughter the dress of her dreams. This was on Saturday. The dress was fully altered and absolutely perfect for the wedding on Monday. She did an amazing job with alterations and the fit was amazing and exactly what my daughter hoped for.
