This smallish but popular retail center boasts significant daytime and nearby residential populations which make it a destination site for locals. The recent addition of a new drive-thru Starbucks has brought more people to the Shopping Center. I found this place completely by accident. The recent hot weather had left a lot of empty water bottles I wanted to refill but I could not find any Glacier Water machines around. So my daughter told me she knew where one was "at the top of the hill, past the dead end." On a scorching afternoon, I drove up and followed the street left. Eventually, I discovered Westwood Shopping Center, with a CVS anchor tenant that had a Glacier machine out front! Praise God! What charmed me about Westwood, was that other then the CVS and free-standing Starbucks, all the other businesses there seemed very mom-and-pop. There was a bike shop, yummy-looking pastry shop, Marco's Pizza, a non-corporate hair salon and manicure/pedicure shop. It got me nostalgic and thinking that this was how strips malls were before they were overrun by corporate chains and impersonal stores with no emotional ties to the community. Therefore, I plan to go back for a spa pedicure, grab a rich pastry at Edelweiss and maybe a pizza to go. Oh, and fill up some more empty water bottles too.

That left us years ago and changed into a couple of other popular places. The parking spaces feel like they are designed for a golf cart. It can be tight. Your full size car is going to barely fit! Only complaint is the "30 minute" parking by Orange Theory Fitness. No where else in this shopping center is there "timed" parking and what makes even less sense, the sessions at Orange Theory are 60 minutes with occasional 90 minute sessions. Whats more, all the marked "30 minute" parking spaces are right in front of Orange Theory and don't impact any of the parking to the two nearby businesses... Vons and Union Bank. The 30 minute parking spaces benefit no other businesses except for Orange Theory. You can go to the website for the shopping center and use the "contact" form to reach out to them, but they never reply. There is no business name for the managing company and therefore, no way to contact them to inquire about this absurd parking issue. Overall, a decent shopping mall for all the local residents but sad when they limit the parking like this and the only people who would use these spaces, need a minimum of 60 minutes.

I brought stuff up the counter to see if I could get a discount on damaged clothes and they said no way. No discount at all. If I did get a discount I could take it to my tailor and have her work on it. Instead you don't allow discounts, it gets discounted and after a million people trying it on doesn't get purchased and you fill up the landfill. Terrible way to do business if you're not pulling damaged clothes from the rack and waiting for people to find the flaws when they get home.
