Fast forward to today, the chair was saggy, old and the threads were coming undone. A dog at one point even chewed on one of the wooden legs. This chair has a ton of sentimental value to me so I was nervous about handing it over to be redone. I am so relieved I did. The chair they returned back to me is absolutely gorgeous. Artisan Interiors rebuilt the interior completely, eight-way hand-tied springs, the whole structure, and saved the original fabric his grandmother had chosen. All of it. They polished the wood while they had it. Two to three weeks, reasonable price, no drama. David runs the operation and was easy to talk to from the first conversation. Knowledgeable, straightforward, no overselling. It's a family business -- his father is the upholsterer -- and it shows in how they treat what you bring them. I didn't fully understand how damaged it was until I got it back. Now it feels the way it was supposed to feel. Solid. Sturdy. You can sit in it comfortably without holding your breath. First we meet in the office to go over colors and fabrics. David had incredible knowledge and great suggestions of what would fit with our space and accounted for our pets. When he came, he noticed it was very minor and was honest that he wouldn't recommended trying to put color over it or replace it, and that he will try to put some chemicals on it to see if that will get rid of the spill. Even though he wouldn't even profit off me, he still recommended it to save me money. He was very patient, and managed to get rid of the stain and also did everything without asking for a dime.
