Neliah, owner and esthetician, is great at what she does. Butterfly is home-based but it definitely doesn't seem like it. It's completely separated from the rest of the house and looks and feels like you're in a regular store front or stand alone spa. It's very warm and inviting just like every spa should be but sometimes aren't. When you first visit you are asked to fill out some paperwork and, based on the service you are receiving, whether or not you've had that particular service before. I met Neliah during a night out on the town and she told me that she owned a spa and that I should come to her for a facial. If I'm being honest I was thinking, "That's never going to happen," based on my previous and only experience with getting a facial a few years ago. After my first facial I was told that my face might be a little oily for a day or two as a result of the exfoliating and cleansing until my pores or PH or whatever was balanced. I said fine, no biggie. A little oily I could deal with however, my face was anything but. It looked as if somebody had taken a handful of Vaseline or Crisco, lathered it on my face and it began to melt off in the sun. Embarrassed much? Lets just say, uh yeah! Nevertheless, I would constantly hear so many of my friends and family say that facials were the next best thing since the size of cell phones shrank and no longer weigh 10 lbs. Although part of me was screaming, "You all can have your facials," another part said "Give it another try". I told Neliah about my first experience and she said that should've never happened. So, I reluctantly decided to give "the facial" one more try and man am I glad that I did! I don't think my face has felt this smooth or soft since birth. The front of this quaint shop sells several skincare products that are made with essential oils, herbs, butters, botanicals, etc. They have soaps, lotions, candles, many other items. Unique to this shop is that the owner, Natalie Patterson, created her own healing and wellness products. Cayenne Pain Blend which is a rub that helps with many of ailments such as lower back pain, neuropathy, etc. Other items such as facial cleansers, eye cream, toner, scrubs, baths and so much more! The other part of the shop are all the services they offer. From facials, waxing, eyebrows/eyelashes, massage, body detox, to Laser Lipo and Cavitation services. Check out the brochure that I posted. The place is extremely clean, neat, accommodating and the staff are all very professional. The locker rooms have everything you need. The robes and slides are soft and made of good quality. Cell phones/camera are prohibited in areas where services are being provided. The lounge area has a waterfall, comfortable seating and plays soft music while a relaxing scent fills the air. You can pay for a one-time service or sign up for a $80/month membership that includes services to sauna, the pool, the massage service of your choice and complimentary beverages/snacks. In my opinion, they're much better than the Ballantyne Resort. You can have an individual service or book a couples massage for two. After our service, they provided us with a glass of wine and bottled water. We then went into the sauna room and sat to detox. It was great. I love this place. I'll definitely return.
