Getting dressed to the third wedding of the week is exhausting. I suppose the novelty of it all wears off eventually. . Exhausted, I try and look half decent for this drive to H-town. Pulling up to the parking lot, this place is massive. Good size for the lot. Lots of room for parking. Walking in, this place is stunning. Very Romanesque. Pillars and angelic portraits on the walls, chandeliers - it is a breathe taking view. Super elegant, classic decor and runs throughout. Bathroom is spotless, all 5 stalls. There is staff everywhere. Greeting you right when you walk in until you walk out. A the front, an array of guest name tags are arranged per table number. Super organized. I like this. Right away, I was approached by a host and he directed me to by table. Inside, the decor was done by the brides sister in law, and boy was it ever gorgeous. Every girls dreams. Hot pink & black was the theme. Very well done too. The service is phenomenal. Each table has it's own waiter that remembers your name. He was so gracious, offering extra servings, food for everyone at the same time, remembering extra side sugars and desert/meat options etc. I had an amazing time. I highly recommend this venue for a small-medium sized wedding. It's intimate and coordinated very well by the staff. The bride is a high school friend of mine. Naturally everyone else I haven't seen from high school was there. This was such an unexpectedly wonderful surprise. You see, I was a hardcore - cereal anytime of the day - crib talking - break dancing - gap sweater wearing - baseball cap front bending - tom boy. At a venue with 100 tables MAX - you have no where to hide. - Forewarning for the "late bloomers" The bar is right outside of the hall (on either side of the doors) - obviously, the most popular spot of the evening. Open bar. I felt weird drinking Coors light out of a wine glass. They will not give the bottles out. The 3 beer options was Heine , corona & Coors light. - Boooya! The open bar and awesome DJ brought back some amazing high school memories. There was some dirty break dancing wars . I did not win. I blame boobs. Ugh. This is going to be a very hard wedding to top. Rest assured, if you book your wedding here, every minuted detail will be taken care of. Recently had my wedding here and we really felt like we were treated like family! Not only did they communicate quickly and openly but also advised us along the way! The venue is very clean and comfortable, spacious as well, no cramped tables for us. The chairs are actually some of the best ones I've sat in, wedding wise! The in house decorating is beautiful and our guests commented on how lovely it looked. Lighting was perfect throughout our ceremony, dinner and dancing. The in house DJ is really good too! Basically it's like an all inclusive resort but wedding wise! We had very little stress and a party people were raving over. And the food! Wow! Everything came out warm and delicious, everyone had more than enough to eat! Nothing worse than leaving a wedding hungry. The midnight poutine and cookies were a huge plus, our guests cleaned out the poutine in minutes lol. Delicious food, and they accommodated different diets (pescatarian, vegetarian and gluten free) seamlessly. Drinks were always good too! I'm gonna send my love to the service team because they really work hard and always had a smile on! Great team! I was at Carmen's recently for my cousin's wedding. She wowed the whole family with her affordable, all-inclusive wedding deal (seriously, I think the only things she had to worry about was the dress and the photographer). The hall doubled as a ceremony and reception area, so if you know the drill, we were all herded into the lounge for cocktails for the rearrangements. Because we were sharing the venue with two other weddings, the lobby is sectioned off for cocktail hour, so I found it to be a little snug. Hors d'ouvres were served, but they were, for the most part, cold. I will say though, that the cocktails were tasty, and the bartender was very personable. So the hall was transformed into an equally-lovely reception. I thought the meal was alright, but the the dessert was great. Sorry I missed the midnight poutine bar. The DJ sucked: I expect one or two corny wedding jams, but they just kept coming. Worse still, I have a feeling they consistently use the same playlist because I heard the same songs echo in the other halls. Anyway, in terms of value, Carmen's can't really be beat. I cannot say enough good things about the venue. We were married there sat November 9th and it was perfect. The staff qent above and beyond to male our night perfect. The food was wonderful. I was in 2 weddings at Carmens, plus I got married there myself! This is DEFINITELY the best bang for your buck. I also really want to say that our maitre D Nick was amazing! He's so professional and does everything he can to make sure that you have a perfect wedding day. He holds that place together in my opinion. There were a couple people we werent overly happy with, like the bartender who started refusing certain people drinks because he didn't see them put a tip in the jar... And our DJ was pretty awful - I would recommend getting your own. BUT I would recommend this place. Great venue, really nice hotel - we were overall very happy with our experience. read more

If you are looking for a venue for your wedding, may I suggest none other than the luxurious, professional, piece of Heaven on Earth that is the Carmen's Banquet Hall & the C Hotel. My partner Brandon and I searched around and I think we both immediately knew Carmens was for us. The hall is so elegant and they tailor it to look exactly the way you want, You can choose every bit of decor, your lighting, your table linens, your charger plates, etc. etc. We only chose one extra, and now I kinda wish we chose more! But I don't think anyone will forget our pyrotechnic entrance! Where else can you get a pyrotechnic entrance for goodness sake. Let's start with the hotel. Sheer elegance for a very reasonable price. Half the hotel was people from our wedding and just to see everyone in the beautiful environment was so special to us. The rooms are to die for, so clean and so modern and did I forget to mention HUGE! Like a mini apartment! All of our wedding party was placed in rooms either adjacent to or beside us which made life super easy! The front desk staff, especially CARLOS, is so darn friendly it's as if you knew them your entire life. So courteous, kind and efficient. I was so busy I didn't get to swim in the pool, but my nephews and nieces made amazing use of it, like every chance they got and kept saying how much they loved it. We only had a chance to visit the Baci restaurant once the wedding was over on Sunday, and the food was incredible and our waitress was literally the nicest waitress I have ever had. And now to our wedding day. Our wedding planner Jessica, despite planning probably hundreds of weddings a year, remembered every last detail and was immaculately organized and extremely professional. I, for some reason expected hitches just because of the sheer volume of weddings she works in, but there wasn't a single hitch all day long. She put together our dream day EXACTLY how we asked and didn't make a single mistake and I can't thank her enough for that. Our maitre d was Nick, and boy did he go out of his way to ensure everything ran smoothly on top of being one if the nicest guys you have ever met. The level of professionalism between these two and the entire Carmens and C hotel was just utterly and incredibly through the roof. We felt like celebrities. Our limo driver, too, was awesome, very punctual, very abiding considering how all over the place we were and such a nice gentlemen. Anyone who gives Carmens or C hotel a negative review, I can't imagine what it just like to be you, because the standards they set or so damn high that there's no one like them and if you can't find joy in what they do, then you are probably just an unhappy person in general. All of our guests raved and raved about the food...I don't know how many times I heard people mention it. We had the pomegranate insulata salad...every one was asking for the vinaigrette they use! We had the Bowie pasta with the vodka sauce and we just thought it was going to be something simple, but oh my gosh everyone was crazy for this! They just loved it...I was surprised how many people brought up how great it was, even more so than the chicken cordon bleu, which was my absolute favourite.. Oh my goodness was it tasty! We also had the pizza and poutine bar and I was way too stuffed at that point to eat anything, so going off the reviews of others, the pizza was "perfection" and the poutine was "friggin' incredible." We actually upgraded our cake and sent in a picture of what we were hoping for and it looked identical to what we had sent in! Again, absolute perfection. And so darn tasty....we had four tiers and only one got eaten at the wedding, so our fridge is stuffed with wedding cake! There's a Venetian cream inside the cake that is literally amazing. I do really really suggest the Venetian room, not to down the other rooms in anyway, but, for us, with so many smokers in our families and friends, the garden terrace was so awesome ...and so HUGE. Our DJ, Todd, had that dance floor pumping from start to finish. He played everything on our list and we sent him some hard to find songs, but we knew he took the time to find them and playing those special mixes just really made our night. He took requests and played them in a very timely fashion. We just loved his pace and his choices of tracks as we did leave a lot up to him! I also want to mention the guy, I forget his name that did our pyrotechnics, he ensured that everyone was kept safe and helped us keep it a secret! But, I wasn't expecting him to be that darn friendly...just the nicest guy! Anyways, it probably sounds as if I'm gushing over them, but it really was a dream come true and it really was everything we could have ever hoped for and I just want people to know about this incredible, beautiful and professionally run venue cause seriously more people need to take advantage of it pure awesomeness....your guests will be floored, you will leave read more

Unfortunately, good looks is all this place has to offer. Sure the place looks elegant, it's pretty new, but don't be deceived. My daughter just had her wedding there and it was a nightmare from the time they wrote the first check. At all the meetings, the staff, coordinator and even the owner was all yes, yes, yes we can do that. But when the week of the wedding arrived, we began to find out the reality. We had booked the largest suite for our family and although it was more money than I had ever paid for a suite, I thought this was a once in a lifetime event so was willing to spend a little extra. All our invitations included directions to the wedding venue and the phone number to make overnight accommodations. Slow but sure we started to hear from the guests that when they called to make their hotel reservation, they were told there was no wedding under that name. So most of our guests had to make alternative bookings. Little did we know they were the lucky ones. Our bride contacted carmens twice to tell them of the error but they kept giving the same message. The nightmare continued when we arrived the day before the wedding to check in and our guaranteed ready by 3 o'clock room wasn't ready. Not ready at 4 either. Not even ready by 5. There was a whole lobby of people waiting for their rooms. On the day of the wedding, the wedding coordinator, Ashley Kinson, never checked in with the bride, never checked the room, in fact, because she knew we weren't happy, she spotted our daughter walking towards the lobby and she turned and went the other way. Very professional, NOT. All the things that were supposed to be handled by Carmens staff we had to take care of ourselves. we took our concerns to the owner and he did more lying and telling us that everything would be wonderful, with no intentions of doing anything. On the day of the wedding, our guests, many from USA, started arriving for the 5:00 wedding, only to find out their rooms were not ready and wouldn't be for hours. We had people trying to dress for the occasion in a lobby restroom! When the bride arrived, in her gown, ready to slip into her room and wait for her big day to start, even her reservation was wrong! They had her room booked for February!! Really? Were you waiting til February to cash those big checks that we gave you? Some of our friends were not able to get their room keys until the reception was underway. Needless to say, there were many more problems than I could ever write here, but if you want a nice place and a memorable day, DO NOT USE CARMENS! It's truly all show and swagger with no means to back it up. The food was less than mediocre, the hotel staff was appallingly ignorant and the owner was little more than a liar. I was recently in a wedding that took place at Carmen's. We stayed in the hotel and everything was perfect. The young man, Steven, who was at the front desk was there all weekend and made us feel right at home. He was welcoming and incredibly helpful and kind. Our dinner service during the wedding was off to a rough start, but head server Nick rescued all and was a breath of fresh air with his charm and ability to make everything better. These two gents deserve a big raise! All in all it was a fantastic time, with little hiccups throughout which always happen with weddings and those two young men did a fantastic job at fixing any problem.
