I called Carmen to assist me with a challenging "move in" cleaning project. She showed up on time and when she finished the house was "spotless". The bathrooms and kitchen were pristine. We hired Carmen's house cleaning twice; the first time she came alone and did a good job (missed some stuff here and there, but over all it was ok). The second time we hired her, she brought 4 people with her and charged per person (without telling us how many people were coming). The job was good, but way too expensive for something she did alone the time before. Wouldn't hire her again. read more

I started using Carmen cleaning services last year, and initially everything was great. I gave her extra work to really show my appreciation for how well she was cleaning my home. Then the nightmare begin. She would make an appointment and not show up or call. 5 hours later she would text some outrageous lie to try and cover. Folks listen if your experience with carmen Guzman has been positive great, but please have a backup person because at some point she will start lying and not showing up after giving you an appointment. Very unprofessional. She is a great liar! Folks move on from her before you really need her and she bails on you. I rarely write negative reviews however, she needs to be exposed for the person she is! Just to be clear its carmen's cleaning services and she was driving a white Ford explorer with her company name and business number on the vehicle. I decided to give Carmen a call solely based on the reviews here. She showed up 20 minutes late for the estimate appointment. Ok, forgiveable. Maybe she had trouble finding the place. Her estimate was $275 to clean the entire house (which was 2400 square feet). That seemed reasonable so we made arrangements for her to come the following Monday. On Monday morning, she and her help was supposed to arrive at 8:30am. I waited for 20 min, texted and she said that she was running late and that they would be there in 30 minutes. I ended up waiting until 9:45am (almost an hour later) for her to arrive. Not cool! As far as the qualty of work, they did a very good job. They did everything I asked them to do including the details such as wiping out drawers, cleaning the ceiling fans, cleaning the blinds and dusting. They did however break two sets of blinds (the facias), which they did not mention to me and simply left them sitting on the bathroom counter. This coupled with the tardiness caused me to leave this negative review. I will not be using her service again. read more

Contacted her for a house cleaning after we moved out. She quoted me a rate in the phone and we agreed to an 8am appt. I waited 45 minutes for her workers to show up. She kept texting me they were coming. Only one lady showed up who could not speak English and I could not communicate what I needed. Finally another lady showed up and they started cleaning about an hour late. At the end Carmen doubled the rate and tried to charge me $450 for a 1300 sq ft house. Carmen was extremely professional and did a very thorough job on our move-out project. We only had a 760 square foot house, and she took a full four hours (and then some) to clean EVERYTHING, top to bottom, even the blinds. Carmen arrived a little bit late but once she was here did a fantastic job...and fast! She did a very deep clean on our bathrooms and kitchen in only 3 hours. Carmen is horrible. She is unprofessional and changed the prices after a few times of service. Several times she has cancelled last minute when i have left work in SF to drive to Napa and she never offered to compensate for leaving work and driving an hour and half. I continued her service because I liked a few of her workers. I've used her service EVERY week and pay $210-$270 the last 12 months, faithfully. Last week, I had an emergency and had to cancel and when I requested service again; I offered to pay for gas because of my cancellation. i requested service today and she said I was required to pay for the ONE time I made a cancellation; Despite paying $100 extra for the time i cancelled. She is a witch and doesn't deserve any business. read more

We used Carmen's cleaning service for a few months. Initially, they were good, but then they started coming late. They come one hour or 2 late without notice, and when I text Carmen, she kept on replying that her ladies are coming, but they will not arrive until after an hour. She also started sending different ladies, sometimes 6 at a time, so you don't know who is coming and they will talk a lot and rush the cleaning process. They split up the areas and would just hang around waiting for the the others- texting, on the phone and just chatting in your house. The first three times, she sent really thorough ladies who knew what they were doing and were good with instruction on how we want the house maintained, but then after that different women would come and they sometimes couldn't understand English, so it's difficult to communicate with them. She will also just change the price/rate on you. We initially set for $100 for 3bed/3bath. There's only 3 of us in the house and we only use 2 of the rooms and 2 of the BR. Our house isn't terrible, but she'll say because there's a lot to do or that she sent more ladies that day... Our arrangement is per hour but they don't complete it the exact hours that they are supposed to. Sometimes cleaning isn't that good and they scratched our gas range. She also raised our rate increasingly, and now she wants almost $200 for less than 2 hours of vacuuming and dusting... It's not worth it. I think that's just too high, so we are moving forward with new house cleaners. read more
