I'd give zero stars if I could wow. I set up a first time cleaning of my apartment today. My normal cleaning service cleans my 2 bedroom apartment for 100 dollars, this service charged us nearly 300 dollars and I will be disputing those charges for services not rendered. They did a horrible job cleaning, did no organizing whatsoever, and to make matters worse when my wife called in to voice her complaints the manger who talked to her cut her off and was extremely rude. I was excited to get in touch as the reviews were great and I was eager to work with them and relieve some stress from my life. I reached out 3 times with no response back. After over 3 weeks, I got ahold of someone by text chat, and she only answered half my questions... I wrote it off to the texting and tried not to be any more annoyed than I already was (that it had taken me so long to touch base with them). She said she'd have a local person call me, and while that next person did in fact call me later the same day, "Justin" if I heard him correctly as he spoke super fast, he was SO INCREDIBLY RUDE! I was in disbelief until he did it more than once, and when I called him on it he HUNG UP ON ME! I still am at a loss for words. I cannot believe the lack of customer service these days. read more

I am blown away and so happy with my house. I am a single mom with 3 kids, and two dogs, I work full time and recently had hand surgery. I had zero hope of having my house together when my family came on Easter Sunday. A team of people showed up for a spring cleaning. Yes the price was steep but I have not had any help for over a year! My house was a disaster and it took them all day. The price was well worth it. Since hiring Merry Maids - (Aida & Shena) I have not only come to appreciate the speed and quality of their work - a few weeks ago they became my two heroes! I was upstairs when Aida came up to tell me something was wrong with one of the gas burners on the stove top. Though it was turned to 'off', the electric clicking was still in 'spark' mode and trying to light the gas. She explained that they had cleaned around the burners, taken them off - and when put back on, this was happening. She also pointed out that the kitchen was now filled with the smell of gas. She was very calm. I was less so. We called PG&E, who said they would schedule us into their rounds that afternoon. After pushing them about the immediacy, to no avail, we hung up. We waited about 10 minutes, then decided to call 911 - and they told us to get outside the house and wait for them. The three of us ran outside, praying the house wouldn't explode before they arrived. Then I ran back in for my purse. Then again to get my car out of the garage. Then once more to stand at the bottom of the steps and debate my chances of tackling my cats and surviving the attempt.   Back out to the sidewalk, where the three of us stood shivering. The girls were like rocks. Calm, reassuring... The firemen roared in with sirens blaring - went in the house and cut off the gas. They asked the two ladies what they'd been cleaning with, and how they'd gone about it - and were  satisfied they'd done perfectly.  If these two ladies hadn't realized what was happening, called it to my attention, and stayed to follow it through - I might not have been around to write this glowing recommendation.   Thank you C Clark American Canyon read more

The manager was super nice, apologized and tried to persuade me that they would send a better team of cleaners if I gave them a second chance. In June 2017 I moved into a new house that was in disgusting condition and needed deep cleaning help right away. If I hadn't been in such a hurry I may have paid more attention to some of the reviews below and also not as willing to pay the steep price they quoted me. But I was desperate. They came quickly which was great. Four kind hard-working women showed up and we reviewed what they would do. They said they'd be done in 2 hrs for a 3 bedroom, big living/dining rm, family room, kitchen, 2 bathrooms, all windows and frames and laundry room -- all filthy in a deep, probably not cleaned at all in 10 yrs at least, kind of way. I left and returned in just under 2 hrs and they were already gone. I was shocked. I looked around and at 1st glance was happy and relieved as any cleaning was better than the way I'd found it. But then I started to look more closely. Many corners of shelves, window frames, floor-wall meet places, corners, cabinets, etc were still dirty, and in some cases very dirty. I sent them photos of the dirt and while the very nice woman manager said she couldn't dispute them as the evidence was there, she also was told by her cleaners that they did a god job. I think the cleaners did as well as possible in such a limited amount of time but it was inane to allow so little time for such a big job. Eventually, after lots of going back and forth in email and texts, she agreed to refund me a small amount of money. My feeling was that she was waiting for me to give up and go away out of frustration instead of giving me a refund, but I was persistent. The refund was for about $50 of about a $700 job. It wasn't enough so I asked for more. By around the end of July they gave me another $75 or so. I am grateful that they gave me any refund and that she admitted that the job wasn't what it should have been. If you decide to use them for any reason be sure to spell out exactly what you need and expect because in addition to being very expensive, there are things they won't do. For example --I asked that they clean the high soffits and ledges in my place and it turns out they don't clean higher than 4 feet, or some limitation like that... And they charge a separate big amount for windows, etc. But better yet would be to take the time to look elsewhere and find a better service read more

I can't say enough good about the girls that cleaned my house last month from Napa Merry Maids! They were on time, courteous, and thorough. They were totally responsive to my questions and requests. I have never had my house deep cleaned by a cleaning service before so I wasn't really sure what to expect. There were details I didn't even expect them to get to but they did. Took another chance with this service in hopes that I would have a better experience, but even under new ownership, that did not happen. Cleaning team were super nice, but unfortunately I was not satisfied with their knowledge of how to do a thorough clean. I was being charged $260 for a deep clean of the kitchen, dining area, living room, and two bathrooms. The only thing that seemed to have been thoroughly cleaned was the stove top. But kitchen floor was not mopped, pantry wasn't touched, things were still left unorganized. The living room was not dusted, cleaning products that I set out for them to use were not used. I disinfect my whole house was bleach and instructed for that to be used, and it was not. But biggest thing of all was that the hardwood floors were not swept and mopped. After the team left, I moved aside couches and end tables to find piles of dust and stains still on the floor. Cobwebs were not cleaned out at all. I had to take off for the rest of my day and go through and reclean the whole house myself. It was a mess after the crew left. I think the company should either hire people with experience in housecleaning, or hold trainings before they send people out. read more

We hired Merry Maids. What they claim to do and actually do are worlds apart. I gave them 3 opportunitiesto work out the kinks. They were sloppy, couldn't make a bed to save a life, didn't dust nightstands. Oh I could go on and on. The people who "cleaned" were clueless on how to clean a house or even know how to straighten out. I should have followed my first instinct to not have them return but I listen to the manager tell me the next time would be perfect. This location is under new, HANDS-ON ownership and they do a great job! They do cleaning the right way with the cleaning supplies and clean tools for each room and surface. They are also insured and bonded. They can clean whatever needs cleaning, home, office, car, etc. read more

Since I'm new to the area and contacted Merry Maid. I'm sorry I can't give them more then 5 stars. I have been so busy with my move and new job, they have defiantly picked up the slack on my poor housekeeping. All surfaces dusted, the bathroom alone is worth the visit but I have hard wood floors and they are spotless. Each time they come it's like magic. And while they were on time and very thorough, when they were finished half the floors in the house were still wet, things were not put back in their original places and something was broken and there was still dog hair on the floor... We hired Merry Maids "at the last minute" when our regular company cancelled AGAIN at the last minute. I am SOOO glad we called them. The person I dealt with on the phone was professional, helpful and was able to juggle their schedule to help me. I really loved the added bonus of their employees being bonded and insured! I used Merry Maids for many months every two weeks. While the cleaning was often not satisfactory, I gave them a chance and provided feedback on what was not done well. Some things improved but overall the level of service was mostly indifferent. I finally had enough when I realized that my shower curtain was bunched up and swung over the rod while they cleaned, leaving the cloth curtain wrinkled and the liner dirty with aluminum oxidation from the rod. Items on my bathroom vanity were all shoved into the corner and the cleared counter was wiped, but not behind or under the items. Glass tops tables were often not cleaned with glass cleaner. Window blinds were often left closed or with the vanes every which way, pictures on the wall were knocked crooked and left. I complained to the manager and she promised to send a better team telling me that she had already had complaints about my team (Then why were they still sent to my house???). The service improved for the next couple visits then reverted to horrible again. The final straw: small things were missing around my home! In addition, Merry Maids is to provide all cleaning supplies, but after I discontinued service I discovered that all my cleaning supplies were used up and the empty containers left. In retrospect I put up with really poor service far too long. read more

I just had Merry Maids of Napa come out to my house. I haven't had a professional cleaning service in many years so was a bit skeptical on who to hire. The references from friends always came with many issues they just seemed to live with over the years. I decided on Merry Maids because they were bonded and came with all their own supplies and also were highly recomended because they are now under new ownership. I found the new owners to be lovely and very concerned with doing the best job for me. They were great. Nice young husband and wife team. They came in looking very professional and ready for the job. They arrived with their own supplies which they took away afterwards. That was far better than leaving me with that laundry too. Everyone was super nice and polite. They were efficient and quick. They worked with me on products used and made sure my natural stone counters and floors were washed with soap and water or a safe cleaner. That attention to detail was appreciated greatly. My other cleaning help always tried to slip in bleach etc. which eventually ruined my cement guest bathroom counters. All in all I was very pleased. I will definitely use them again and also have them do my office building. read more
