Master Ali and his coaching staff go beyond teaching BJJ. They teach discipline, self-confidence, communication skills, and life lessons like how to deal with bullies. When demonstrating a technique, they ask the kids questions about it to keep them engaged and make sure they're paying attention. Everything at A-Team is earned, nothing is given. Stripes and belts aren't handed out just because you pay the monthly fee. When a kid makes a mistake, the coaches correct it; when a kid performs well, they get a compliment that reinforces their confidence. The coaches run a tight ship and don't let the kids run wild. Coach Kevin teaches the early morning classes. Class is structured in a light warm up, flexible technical workshop style back and forth with a partner, techniques, then free rolling. When I finally got it back, much of the work I paid for was either incomplete or poorly done, and my vehicle had additional damage. The spoiler was installed incorrectly, multiple unnecessary holes were drilled into my trunk, and the car was returned without being properly cleaned or polished. I have payment records, messages, photos, and documentation of the damage to support what I am stating here. I have also reported the matter through the appropriate official and legal channels. Based on my experience, I strongly recommend being extremely careful when dealing with these people and documenting everything in writing.

All of the coaches are very professional yet make coming here feel like being part of a family. Also, I am very surprised to see the techniques they are learning in class. The lessons begin as simple and basic then build off of each other. The studio is also ALWAYS very clean. Price point wise, I think it is very reasonable and I'm grateful this is also a place where they don't try to haggle you or add extra charges as I have seen/experienced at other places. This is the most kind and understanding owner around. He teaches all the meta in jiu jitsu while still being a good person. The gym feels like home and everyone in it is extremely kind and accommodating for people of all level. Oh, and the level of instruction is top notch. Edwin has a great explanation of every question or idea you have. I came back to the gym despite moving further away. You will definitely LEARN jiu jitsu while also being in a very good environment. I had…read moreabsolutely no knowledge of kickboxing, so I thought this would be a place where I could learn from the beginning, especially since I was hoping Nam Phan would guide beginners like me. But honestly, my experience was very bad. I came on a Saturday and arrived about 20 minutes early. When I told him I had never trained in martial arts or kickboxing before, instead of giving me basic guidance, he seemed annoyed that I didn't know anything. Then he told me to warm up by myself. When I came back, there was only one other student there, and that person had only been training for about a month. But the person who actually showed me what to do was that student, not Nam Phan. During training, Nam Phan briefly demonstrated a few moves and then told me to practice with the other student as if I had already been training for a long time. I was a complete beginner, so it was honestly very difficult to keep up. Throughout the entire session, he only corrected me once, but kept yelling loudly at me whenever I made mistakes. I felt extremely uncomfortable but still tried to continue training. Since it was my first class, I also didn't know what I needed to prepare. Before I came, he specifically told me I didn't need to bring anything. But when training started, he suddenly asked if I had boxing gloves. When I said no, he threw the gloves he was holding onto the ground aggressively and asked in an irritated tone why I didn't prepare anything. Throughout the whole session, the way he spoke and his attitude made me feel like I was being scolded for not knowing anything instead of being guided as a beginner. He spoke Vietnamese very quietly and unclearly, so many times I couldn't even understand what he was saying. That training session made me feel extremely bad and uncomfortable. I came in wanting to try and learn a new sport, but instead I only felt pressure and negativity from beginning to end.
