The management company when I first moved in left a lot to be desired but over the last few months, the new management company has been incredible. Questions are addressed expeditiously, any concerns have been addressed and things are constantly improving. More events for tenants and all in all a better experience. I highly recommend it as a place to live, ESPECIALLY now that the management company is as good as the actual apartments.

Paul has always been helpful in responding to requests, community events, or maintenance issues. He is also someone you can just have a conversation with. And Ursula, always works diligently every time I see her. Everyone that works at this building is top notch! This building goes beyond your normal lifestyle experience. It becomes a family. I am super thankful for my journey here, and recommend to anyone looking within the area. Not only do you have a great staff, but you're also in walking distance to all of the hot spots Ferndale has to offer. Part of the pull for me, aside from the great tour, was the walkability to multiple grocery stores, hair salons, restaurants, and nightlife. Ferndalehaus will forever hold a special space for me. I have been a tenant at this apartment for four years. It is perfectly located in Midtown Detroit…read more Walking distance from Wayne State medical school, and Wayne State undergrad campus. A short Uber ride from downtown and with the new Q line built there is a station right in front of the apartment that takes you anywhere you need to go along Woodward. The unit includes dishwasher, a refrigerator, oven, microwave, and a washer and dryer. The unit does not come furnished allowing you to customize it your self. I have attached pictures of my one bedroom, one bathroom unit " midtown" floor plan. The apartment building also has a gym that has recently been remodeled and upgraded. It has a television, two treadmills, two ellipticals, a bicycle, assisted benchpress rack, free weights, and a multi exercise weight machine like a bowflex. The current building managers John and Nikki are the best we have ever had. They truly care about the cleanliness of the building, they are very responsive to complaints, and they are constantly striving to upgrade and improve the services of the building. They host monthly events for the whole apartment including things like a happy hour social, or a night out at hop cat all on the tab of studio one. The building managers also have organized a custom coffee and smoothie cart to make drinks for the tenants. They truly care about us! There is a call box at the front door. And a nightly security guard who patrols the property for extra security. This is much appreciated. The only complaints I would have about the location is that on a Friday or Saturday night the people at starters bar and grill downstairs can make too much noise in the parking lot. Also, the parking downstairs is for retail customers only. If you have a car you will need to purchase a separate parking pass in the structure. Overall I give this place five stars for its price, comfort, staff, location, and security, the combination of which is not found anywhere else in Midtown Detroit.

The location is awesome with it being right in midtown. There are a ton of places to walk to and downtown is a 30 min walk or a QLINE ride away. The apartments are super nice, mine has black granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, large windows, and a small balcony. Overall I have had poor experiences with renting and this one has been exceptional with this company, definitely recommend if you are looking to live in the midtown area.

When I first attempted to give my 30-day notice, I was told it would not be accepted and that I had to give a 60-day notice instead. After completing the 60-day notice, I was then finally allowed to submit a 30-day notice so I could avoid being charged for October rent. Throughout this process, I communicated repeatedly with Simone in the office (as she was always the only person I was directed to speak with). I also spoke with Pam. I made it very clear each time that I needed to know exactly what fees or charges I would be responsible for. Simone reassured me several times that the only payment I would owe was September's rent. However, after moving out, I was charged an early move-out fee--a charge I specifically asked about multiple times and was told I would not owe. When I called to ask why I was being charged, Simone became upset with me and told me that "as an adult," I should read my lease, even though I had been trying to clarify everything in advance and relied on the information she provided. It was extremely unprofessional and disappointing, especially after being a resident for four years. Overall, my move-out experience felt misleading and stressful. I would strongly recommend that future tenants get every answer from management in writing, because verbal assurances were not honored in my case.

The place overall is well-kept and the rents are reasonable. The community is full of nice neighbors who will just about greet you and make small-talk on a daily basis. Work orders are placed easily either by direct e-mail or the phone app, and they get to it in 1-2 days. Trash pick-up is daily every weekday morning in the front yards too. There is a small gym in the clubhouse (pool) with a few treadmills, ellipticals, bikes, cable machine, and dumbbells going up to 50 pounds. Free continental breakfast every first of the month when you drop off your rent. A few events being held with free food and lottery prizes. Other things are that this is right in front of Target, whichever way you go down Southfield Rd is a whole bunch of restaurants and businesses, and the Beaumont hospital is nearby. In all, I would highly recommend this apartment complex (and from what i've seen, this place gets only few openings due to how long their tenants stay).

The Property Manager is very helpful and responsive - any maintenance requests were promptly and thoroughly addressed. The Property Manager answered all our questions and helped us many times with our application and while we lived here. We never had any problems. The apartment is in a very quiet, residential neighborhood and there is off-street parking. Restaurants and shopping are within walking distance. The grounds are well-maintained and clean. There is a private pool - which is really great during the summer. We looked at many apartments in Oak Park before moving here and this one was definitely the nicest one. We moved because of work and would definitely have stayed here if we could. We miss living at the Oaks on Lincoln already. Besides the apartment itself - which was excellent - the Property Manager was very helpful and accommodating and made living here a very pleasant and hassle-free experience.

They can be noisy and the floors are thin so I heard my upstairs and downstairs neighbors (at night when it is very quiet). But that's what comes when you are sharing a building with a lot of people :)

The management company is piss poor to say the least, very unprofessional and no sense of urgency. Please be careful if you decide to move into this building. I'm certain you will see the nightmare unfold quickly. Stay away.
