The service was ok, they were nice and it was quick. I was actually really excited since I saw the TikTok hype but once I got home the guacamole was watery as heck and I bought 3 small containers and didn't even finish one. The supposed pico de gallo was not good. The Chicharrones were hella undercooked. Very nice. Read the reviews and decided to give it a try. As usual, there was meat cooking outside and it all smelled great. So I had a tri-tip sandwich. It was well-cooked, flavorful and juicy. It depends how you like your tri-tip, this was seasoned a little less than I would have liked but that's just my preference. I also ordered some of the ribs to try out. Once again, very well-made and pretty good. I'd like to go back another time to try the chicken, because that looked great as well. The only change I'd make (and this is just my preference) is that I'd get the meat without the BBQ sauce. I think the meat could just stand alone by itself. read more

This place is new to me. I went by during the week the 1st time and things were nice a perfectly cooked popper and a tasty rib bone in the garlic rub crisp to perfection. Today, forget it all bets are off. I dont know what is going on with these ribs. Taste like sombody ran down to winco and sliced them ribs up and threw on some fake sauce. Yuk. Those ribs were not cooked on a pit of any kind. And... The poppers were fat little burnt clumps of greasy cheese. Five minutes after biting into one i'm chewing into burnt charded something. I've been going to this place for some time. I just wanted to express my thoughts on the bbq. 99% of the time it's outstanding. the tri tip is rare but I like it this way. By the time you get home it has cooled down. so I reheat it. it comes out perfect. had it been cook perfect it would be over done to my liking after it's reheated. I don't care what business you go to not everything is perfect all the time. if you had a bad experience then maybe it was not the perfect day. there has been only one time in my experience it wasn't perfect. Having lived in SF bay area, where there's so many choices has made me appreciate the smaller things in life and having pride with what Stockton and the central valley has to offer. If you are new to this place, I recommend trying their combination platter that comes with an array of bbq'd items: slices of Tri-tip, pork ribs, chicken, jalapeno wrapped in bacon popper (JBP) and a hot link. I order a side of Spanish rice and another order of the JPB of like 10 pieces. Each JPB cost a minimal $1.25. BBQ times are usually from 11-4 p.m. Check the schedule for accuracy. For those who have written bad reviews on this place -- must be really quite random because through the 18 years that I've lived in the area, I still go to this place even though I am no longer in Stockton. They stop cooking at a certain time, so I always call my order early afternoon for pick up after work.... I have done this several times since I found this place about 2 years ago.... well today I placed my order as I usually do.... and the girl up front... who is usually super sweet.... was like I didn't get phone orders.... which I knew was not true, instead of saying she forgot or just super busy.... she lied instead.... I told her I was going to write this review she said that's fine.... so that's what I am doing and I won't ever be back... it won't matter to them, but since I had been a faithful customer, I thought it should have been handled differently. I was picking up meat for a taco dinner for around 40 people and this place was great. I got their carne asada and chicken. They were both very tasty. The best part was the customer service. I ordered a big tray of rice and beans and I would have had to make multiple trips to carry it all, but one of the clerks helped me carry everything to the car! Also while I was waiting for my rice and beans to be made, a clerk found me in the store to ask me a question about my order instead of just waiting behind the corner waiting for me to come to them. I had high hopes my co worker introduced me to this place the day before we went picked up some tri tip and the pregnant lady who shared she is the owner shared she swapped our macaroni out due to the gentleman that assisted gave us mac that was sitting out all day. I tried to ignore it mind you when I first arrived the lady had a Mac salad out which reminded me of the day before. I ignored it proceeded to get my form of payment ready and before getting charged I asked the lady at the register may you change my Mac salad please as it has been sitting out from what I watched from the moment I got there. She looked at me in a way no person working should look at someone. I then see the pregnant lady who claims she is the owner walking out she tells her what I asked and the supposed owner proceeds to say he wants it change it's the same s**t using profanity I was in disbelief I drove 25 mins to tell them I no longer wanted the food I was not gonna support a unprofessional unsanitary business I should have followed my gut when I called ten times and there was no answer. I leave the store and decide to contact the store to speak to the owner due to my family own businesses and if something like this where going on I would want someone to say something. Well the pregnant lady shares she is the owner on the phone attitude and all. I proceed to remind her of who I was and she stated I dunno who you are but when bringing up the day prior and the old Mac salad she remembered. Mind you this is when I actually find out the pregnant lady Is the owner. I let her know a business ran like this is no business at all. Flies where everywhere no sanitation was happening no gloves.
