Another fine dining experience. Ordered 1/2 lbs of brisket plate. Mac and cheese, baked beans. 1/2 lbs of links. 1 lamb shank, Extra Mac and key lime pudding. For a total of $75.00. Service was great. was greeted and thanks during our transaction. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ambiance is eating bbq on wood chairs and tables.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] What a fine establishment. The staff here is so friendly, such great energy! [[HIGHLIGHT]]Clean and nice to eat and catch up.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Excellent BBQ and the sauces are sweet, tangy and spicy. The pork belly is such a special treat on Sunday. Top bbq spot in Stockton and Lodi for sure!

Whoa!!! You want amazing BBQ meats? This is the place to go!!! I was expecting just your regular run of the mill smoked ribs and meats but Smoke & Meat BBQ deserves every star and more!! Not only do they have great smoky flavors but the meat is so tender and flavorful! The ribs look intact but when you bite into one, the meat is falling off the bone! The brisket has the best combination of fat to meat ratio. Juicy and melt in your mouth! I was seriously in hog heaven! Unfortunately when we got there, they announced that they were out of pulled pork. I'm not a pulled pork fan but knowing they ran out makes me wish I was able to try it. We also got the hot links: 3 varieties from mild, medium to hot. Amazing! For sides we got collard greens, Mac and cheese, and potato salad. We also got a side of pickles. Everything was delicious! The people were friendly and welcoming. You come in, order at the counter first, find a table, and they'll call you when your food is ready. The menu is pretty basic. If you're there with a big party, just order the Texas Trio. That was more than enough for our party of 5! They also have desserts. Sadly, I was so full I didn't get to try any. Next time!

The food was top tier, the service was friendly, the atmosphere could use some work, buy hey bbq spots are like that. I hear the sausages are house made all i can say is they are delicious. 3 kinds of bbq sauce, potato salad was very good, and the slab of ribs were tender, juicy, well seasoned and perfect.

Located on the corner of North Yosemite Street and W Poplar Street, Smoke and Meat BBQ features beef brisket, spareribs, pull pork, handmade sausages along with side dishes (baked beans, coleslaw, potato salad, mac n' cheese, and collard greens) plus desserts (banana pudding, key lime pudding). You order at the counter and they pull everything together for you. Then, you pay for your items and find a table to enjoy! My family and I were blown away with how tender and flavorful the beef brisket and duroc spareribs were! They came with a tangy sauce, sweet sauce (our favorite), and a spicy sauce. We also tried their banana pudding with 'Nilla wafers and their key lime pudding with ginger snaps. Both were sooooo tasty! Potato salad was ok. Since we ordered a plate, it came with slices of bread (very soft!) and pickles (very sour!). Prices were reasonable for the great quality! Ambiance is clean and still has (cool) remnants of a past establishment with meat counters. Street parking only but the neighborhood block is quaint with other stores and restaurants.

This place is the best barbecue place ever. I'm not from Stockton, but my girlfriend's family showed me this place! We got the big ol rib paired with the brisket with mac, beans and cole slaw on the side and it was all BOMB. Everything had so much flavor and went so well together. All the barbecue sauces were amazing too and helped enhance the meal for sure! Jeremy was a great host for our group and helped us out so much! [[HIGHLIGHT]]This place is good, homey vibes for sure![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Highly recommend if you are in the area.

Stopped by before Memorial Day for some good BBQ and got a platter of ribs/brisket/links. Teeth free brisket!! I can't explain it, but the reviews do. Everything was perfection!

Legit Texas style BBQ! We were in town and decided to give this restaurant a try. So glad that we did, my advise is, go early if you want the best selection of meats, by 2:00 pm the brisket and ribs were SOLD OUT. We went on a Sunday and they had pork belly special, and we loved that. We also tried brisket, brisket burnt ends, and sausage. The brisket is so tender, cooked perfectly, and seasoned well! Next time for sure we'll have to try the ribs! We already, can't wait to come back!

Found this place looking for a high protein meal and it delivered. There was a total of five people in our group so we opted for the Texas Trio. It came with 1lb of brisket, 1lb of sausage, a full rack of ribs, & 3 medium sides of your choice. We wanted to try everything so we ordered all the sides, tried the hot link, CenTex beef sausage and the cheddar jalapeño sausage. For dessert, we got the banana pudding. We came around 1pm on a Friday and there was no line and plenty of seating. Parking is plenty on the street when we came. My personal favorite protein was the soft, tender and flavorful brisket. The ribs were also perfectly moist and seasoned. They have 3 different BBQ sauces and all were delicious just depends on if you like sweet, spicy or a tangy BBQ sauce. All were very good, I really liked the spicy and sweet together. Of the 3 sausages, I really enjoyed the hot link and the cheddar jalapeño more than the CenTex. All the meat were seasoned so well and cooked to perfection. For sides, they had potato salad which was great, just needed a bit of salt. The coleslaw had a more vinegar flavor than the mayo heavy slaw that most would be use to. The BBQ beans were very good. The beans were cooked well, not too mushy and seasoned well. The Mac and cheese fell short, not sure what kind of cheeses they used but it wasn't a smooth consistency cheese. The greens were good, the stems just added a bitterness that some may not like. The banana pudding was the great finisher for our meal. It wasn't overly sweet and the texture was smooth. They sell canned soda, and bottled water for a good price. Service was excellent, they explained everything thoroughly and checked in on us to make sure we were good. Overall a great experience and will be back for more.

Solid BBQ spot. Got the 2 Meat Plate with brisket and house made sausage, added coleslaw, and potato salad. Meal was filling for two people. The brisket was tender and tasty and the sausage was good too. I specifically like the pickles they add on the side, potato salad was finely chopped and cubed, and with some added hot sauce it was perfect for me. Service is fast and the space is open with plenty of seats.

Cool spot in a nice little area. Inside is old west with good music and great service. They help you build your plate and they know what they are talking about. Got the brisket and two sausages with Cole slaw and potato salad. The brisket was perfect. The sausages were delicious. The Cole slaw was tasty. The potato salad was solid, nothing special. This place is legit, definitely the real bbq spot.

I been to a lot of BBQ joints in Texas & the south. I been to Goldee's at the time they were number 1 for consecutive months on the Texas Monthly. I would have to say this place is good as Texas BBQ & for sure; better than a lot of bbq places I been to in Tennessee. Their brisket really good & not dry at all. Not a lot of places in CA do Texas style sausages like these guys, most places in CA just serve you hot links. My top 5 bbq from Sacramento to Bakersfield: 1) Smoke & Meat 2) Urban Roots (SAC) 3) Horn BBQ (Elk Grove) 4) Mega Texas BBQ (Fresno) 5) Smokin Woods (Fresno)/ Tank House (SAC) TIE

Ask the Community - Smoke & Meat BBQ

Is there in house dining on Wednesdays?

No. We are open Thursday through Sunday for in-house dining.

Are there any gluten-free brisket dishes that are not sweet, for those of us not raised on sweet American BBQ? Dying to try this place but can't tolerate sweetened meat.

Absolutely! The only items with gluten are mac & cheese, and the desserts. Everything else is gluten free, and we only have 2 meats that are sweet; Sticky-Sweet Rib Tips (Thursday), and Pork Belly (Sunday).

Ended up at K-Town KBBQ & Hot Pot after making a trip to pick up the SO from a car show in…read moreStockton, ironic I know. The car show happened to take place in the same parking lot as K-Town, so we just decided to have dinner here instead of sitting in the drive-thru line at In-N-Out. The inside is modernly lit with lots of wood motif and black. Oversized lightbulbs filled with faux flower petals hang from the ceiling. A random cartoon plays on the wall TV. For a weekday dinner bbq, we paid about $37 per person with no additional hot pot add-on. We got a good spread of drinks (they have boba!), but they are also an additional cost. The AYCE includes access to the buffet area, which has sushi (sashimi!), buffalo wings, seafood boil, a bunch of fried/breaded offerings, and all the sauces/accoutrements for both hotpot and kbbq. I was impressed by the short rib marinade here. The beef was meaty with a good texture. Some of the cubed meats were a little tough but could be due to the way we cooked it. The pork belly was sliced too thin for my liking (too bacony). We got the cheese sticks from the buffet and reheated them over the grill and made our own version of a Chili's Triple Dipper. Service was fine. We placed our orders with a guy and he would come around occasionally for a grill change and taking away plates. Between the two KBBQ AYCE I've been to in Stockton recently, I think K-Town wins. Overall, I came out stuffed and would definitely return.

Finally getting to write a review on one of our Korean BBQ faves…read more Hubby picked to go here for his birthday this last Tuesday. We got there at 530pm and it hadn't gotten too busy at that point. Greeted and seated immediately. We usually don't do the hot pot side (we will try it some day) but the variety of meats were exactly what we normally order. We usually only do beef, but they have seafood, chicken and pork too. The salad and hot bar had quite a few options, and again I always defer to my favorites. Kim Chi, Pickled Daikon, etc etc. you'll have to check it out. Pretty big restaurant, feels spacious, and you're not right on top of your neighbor. We love that we can stay local and not have to travel to Elk Grove/Stockton Our server was friendly and attentive.
