We ordered birria tacos and an al pastor torta. Ive never had a torta before it was HUGE and delicious. So I decided to try it before my long drive back to Tacoma. Upon arrival I was greeted by the owner Andrew. Andrew is a super high cool dude. He is very nice. I asked him what is popular and he recommended me the Molo's Taco. I ordered the Molo's Taco with cheese substituting the jalapeños (NO UP CHARGE!!!). The taco came out great, hot, and quick. After receiving my order I went back to my truck for my long drive home. As I started to drive home I asked my wife who was in the passenger seat to open the taco so I can eat and drive. Well, the taco looked and smelled so good that my wife started to eat it. She ended up eating half of the taco. My half of what was left was very good! One note! The taco was very good but it would even be better if it had sour cream, salsa, or a sauce. I WILL eat here again. Assuming my wife don't eat my food again.

And the beer is better than at most bars since their beer lines are cleaned regularly a as indicated by the schedule behind the bar (see my pictures). The staff is very attentive and friendly. They offered drink and tortilla refills without asking which Is appreciated. They offer both weekly lunch specials and happy hour specials as well. They do add a credit card fee, which for me was $.99.

While I assume this place is hopping in the evening when they bring in the DJ and move the tables out for a dance floor, it feels cold and echoey as a restaurant. Better lighting, something to break the sound and add warmth would be nice. Secondly is the price point. 2 tacos and an enchilada were $24 before tax and tip. Only a very small handful of Mexican restaurants are just decent. El Rodeo is an oasis in a food desert. This IS the real stuff. The flavors that I miss living in both NorCal and SoCal.
