I hope Berthoud understands just how lucky they are to have a small, local grocery store - Loveland didn't & they lost Crunchy and now all we have is greedy corporate out of state ownership, crappy part-time jobs, & faux health food which got a huge unfair boost from our tax dollars. One day a corporate chain will come knocking at Berthoud's door, promising more jobs & tax revenue..but they will demand tax subsidies 1st- I hope the people of Berthoud know better than we did here in Loveland.

The pandemic has apparently made communication even more difficult with their busy/hectic schedule and the tone has only gotten worse. You cannot get anyone to answer the phones and what call backs you *might* get takes days and that time lag will be counted against you on their own unclear deadlines. I will admit, I didn't pick Steving. The rancher who raises my beef has a previously standing arrangement. If there were a choice, I'd have swapped after the first year...but after the pandemic, there is no choice if they have a processor lined up. During the pandemic there was a 'NO MASK REQUIRED' sign on the door when it was a state mandate and there were no masks being used on the floor, much less in the office. This year (2021) you still see no real protective equipment (for your beef or their workers) outside of aprons. They have added the ability to use cutting instructions on the website, but they are clear as mud with their timelines and dates until you get the call saying they are done with your processing (7 days from drop off, since they will not just tell you that). On the upside, the nice local man who helped me load my car did say that the entire staff has been vaccinated as it was an employer requirement. Please review the other recent reviews on Yelp and Google. Vote with your dollar if you have the ability to look for alternatives.
