Good place to buy groceries. Some things are costly than other stores, overall a very good provider for the area.

I absolutely love this place and think it's a god sent that they are located in my neighborhood. They carry so many fresh good and it just make shopping so much easier. I usually go here for their fresh greens because the quality is always top notch and reasonably priced. Though I can't say the same for their produce outside which seems to be priced really high. If you want cheaper, I would suggest to scoot on down to Isaac's Apple Farm (https://www.yelp.com/biz/isaac-apple-farm-brooklyn?osq=isaac%27s+apple+farm) and their pricing their is much better (but not toward the greens). Either case, I still love this place. I get other stuff as well. Their nuts are always fresh, which is great for snacking or bake goods and they carry a wide range of eastern european goods. I go here all the time for my organic feta cheese and omg, it's sooooooo delicious and creamy. The best part is that they are open 24/7. Though I do find when I'm there late, their fresh green veggies are not as fully stocked. As for the cashier, I have to say they are quick. There is always a crowd of people here but they ring us all up so quickly that the queue is never really much of a wait. read more

I randomly stumbled into this market on Monday afternoon. It is a decent sized market with a great selection! I found so many fresh produce items that are sometimes difficult for me to find at other supermarkets and grocery stores. They have a great selection of snacks too. Looking for great prices on fresh produce? You've found the place! Lots outdoors and that is where you'll find the heaviest discounts. Inside they've got even more produce from around the world and prepared foods like kimchi, pickles, etc. They've got lots of refrigerated, frozen, and dry goods. Plenty of very diverse ethnic choices with a large Turkish selection. We tend to do the bulk of our shopping outdoors, and buy a few things indoors where we check out. The store is 24x7 cash or credit ($5 minimum) with a quick checkout. The staff is always friendly and fast. Don't forget to bring your bags. You'll find great daily deals on the produce outside and out changes frequently. Green grocers are the best! Buy local. CAN WE SAY BEST FOOD MARKET OUT THERE!! I stop here weekly to pick up my fruits, veggies etc and they're honestly the best. They're produce and fruit are soooo fresh! Always restocked and taken care of. You can find any fruit imaginable sh*t even fruit you've never seen. I'm a grape fanatic and they have sooo many varieties of grapes... even the cotton candy grapes. Prices are very doable and they often have specials. Like today grapes are $1.99 a pound. Inside the store they offer such a variety of other foods as well. Cheeses plenty of nutts, bread etc I found a cheese I've been looking all over for. This is one of my favorite places to shop for groceries. Its unique compared to other groceries in the area as it offers more exotic products and foods while offering traditional options as well. Unlike other grocers you can find a great selection of pita breads, labneh, cheese (goat cheese), yogurt drinks, different honeys, outdoor produce, tahini coconuts and a fantastic nut/dried-fruit selection! Along with those items you can find many items imported from other countries (uzbek and afghan raisens.) The options you can get for nuts, trail mix, and bulk bag items is really a joy to select from. For the most part you can find almost anything here like in a more traditional grocery store. However there are some options like hamburger meat and alcohol that they don't offer. For the pricing it is reasonable. Now that I think about it I don't think I see anything on sale but I am not one of those people who rush for sales anyway. A particular thing I like is how compact the place is. Though this can be a problem when getting in line (the line can cause traffic from one part of the store to the other) the main advantage is you can find everything they offer relatively quickly. A quick walk through an aisle or two and your done. I am really glad this grocer exists, and though I will go to other grocers for convince and more produce selections I will also enjoy coming here for what they do have. read more

It may seem strange to be declaring my unabashed love for this random-seeming produce market. But you see, every time I stop in, I fall a bit harder. Besides, though a certain orange-hued megalomaniac would probably beg to differ, you can't choose who, or I suppose what, you love, right? Anyway, this market has become our local go-to for pita bread. We are big time pita snobs and there's no way you'll ever find supermarket brands, so often dry and cardboard-like, in our house. Indeed. If you like your pita soft, thick and pillowy, they've got the good stuff here. Look for the locally made King's Highway / Sababa brand in either whole wheat or white. Another Brooklyn label, Pita Express, is good too. This shop is Turkish-owned and its many Mediterranean rooted products reflect that. It's a great resource for Feta, Tahini, Labneh, Turkish bread, Soujuk Sausage and so much more. As others have mentioned, you can find some surprisingly obscure and diverse produce, such as Dragon and Ugli Fruit, Bitter Melon, Chinese Long Beans, Lemongrass, four different types of Eggplant, including Japanese, Sicilian, Dominican and Indian, plus plump, stumpy Hawaiian plantains (who knew?) just to name a few. Most of the fruits and veggies seem to be a few notches above the typical just fell off a truck stuff that starts to grow mold a day or two after you bring it home. On my most recent visit, I was ELATED to find pomegranates; something I haven't come across anywhere, for the past couple months. Hey, sometimes it's the little things. ITA with Caroline D. about the Bulk Dried Fruits & Nuts section. I've even spotted skinned hazelnuts (all you bakers out there who've ever tried to remove the skins yourselves will feel me on this) and candied ginger. Ultimately, though, what really made my heart go pitter patter is the Mediterranean hospitality I encountered on one particular visit. The registers were all down and there was a long line snaking through the store. The owners began passing out free chocolate and lots of it. Now how sweet is that? I'm not suggesting this store is destination-worthy by any means. But it's the sort of under-the-radar neighborhood treasure that reminds me why I love Brooklyn. read more

I was briefly a member of the Park Slop Food Co-op but ended up leaving because this place has such a good selection of inexpensive produce, it wasn't worth the effort to schlep all the way to Park Slope for fruits & veg. There's always something on special, and they have basically everything you could want at much cheaper prices than supermarkets and much better quality than bodegas. They aren't super great for general shopping--anything pre-packaged tends to be pretty pricey--but they do have cheap milk, creamer, hummus, and yogurt. Cheese selection could be more exciting, but it's fine. (I usually buy cheese at Trader Joe's.) They also have a decent bulk section. Very glad to have this place within walking distance. read more

Yes, I love this place. This used to be called New Mac Donald's as someone else mentioned, but a new owner made it super snazzy. I used to come here over a decade ago and still it's one of my favorite places to shop. The prices are pretty low, but it's hit or miss sometimes. I like coming her because it's not as congested as further down Church ave so you can shop in a little bit of peace. The fruit for the most part is fresh and you can get a box of salad for $2. They've definitely expanded to have dry goods too (nuts!), but like someone else said, watch the cashier as they ring you up, because I have been overcharged several times before. read more

They've changed the name of the grocery store over time. So new yelp posting. But they also keep adding on, expanding, and adapting with the times but with those same fabulous prices. But this used to be called New McDonald Farm. Not that old McDonald. . . . . If you want the widest range of produce and more exotic produce for the best value in the neighborhood, definitely go here. Not Foodtown. Even cheeses are significantly cheaper. I can get a nice sized wedge of triple creamed brie for like $1.50. Or a slab of gouda for less than $2. Hell am I?! Hummus is cheaper, yogurts are usually like 2 for a $1. It's fantastic. The only thing I would say to not purchase here is like cereal and canned goods - those are usually standard or a bit more expensive. They don't sell like cuts of meat here either unless you're just getting packaged deli meat or smoked or cured sliced meat. They also have a more interesting selection of nuts and seeds that you can bag yourself. Large variety of European candies. Some different and more unique types of breads, pitas, and pita chips that lean towards the healthier side. This is like my go to store for health foods. read more

It is a great market for a super fresh, beautiful and extensive array of fruits and veggies, dried fruits, olives, international food, breads and dairy products. I love this place - there are some great deals on produce here (some looks a little worn out, just be aware of what you're buying). Searched around for a bag of onions that had all fresh ones, to no avail. Some of the cara cara oranges looked a little sickly when we were there, so we went with plain navel instead. They had a lot of "but x amount" for a lower price but the single item price is always higher so be careful there. My favorite thing here is the nut and dried fruit bulk section - you cannot go wrong with this, as the prices are better than anything I've ever seen in New York, especially for walnut halves... The date selection is also off the chain. Make a special stop just for that - you won't be disappointed! read more

Carnival did a great job in upgrading its offerings a few years back, and was after that a nice 24-hour complement to Isaac Apple Farm a couple blocks away. (Isaac has better prices, Carnival has somewhat better selection.) Unfortunately, since the outbreak of Covid, Carnival has done nothing to enforce the wearing of masks inside their store, either by staff or customers, making it a potential petri dish of germs, especially in their windowless space -- until this changes, or there's a vaccine, I guess I will be steering clear of them for now. read more

Out of all of the little veggie stands in the area this is by far my favorite. The selection is great and the pricing and quality is usually better than the local grocers. They're also open 24/7 which is extremely convenient as they can get pretty packed during rush hours. Most of their carton fruit (raspberries, etc) often come at a cheaper price when purchased in bulk (3/$5 or 1/$1.99) which can be annoying at times. They carry all of the staples and have a nice selection of specialty pastries/breads to choose from. read more

Wonderful. Extremely cheap, amazing quality produce and very helpful employees. This is where I go for all of my fresh fruit and veg, and some of my other semi-basics like peanut butter, imported chocolate/dried fruits and sometimes cheese. The produce is definitely where they shine though- where so many places are $5 for a pint of blackberries, I've seen them here at 3 for $6 and fresh as can be. Not to mention they often have hard to find things like lychee fruit and almonds with the green casing still on them... and so many varieties of apples. Love. read more

It's very affordable. I always find parking during the evening. It's 24/7. They even give you free complimentary candy when you purchase over $50. read more

This place is amazing- in particular I come here for their very fresh, high variety of produce and great deals. Just last week I picked up three half pints of massive blackberries for $5 total... some places would charge that for just one. If you're lucky you can also get more obscure produce here like Lychee fruit and Almonds in bushels still shielded by their green casing. Sure, some of these can be found in other stores but there is no way to beat the freshness- the interior is kept like a refrigerator. read more

What a 180 this place has done since the new owner took over! Before, I think I only went inside once in seven years. Now, I actually enjoy going in the store. In terms of its design, it reminds me of a mini Whole Foods (with better prices). I wish they had a freezer section, but I won't fault them for that. This place was previously New Macdonald's - in the last couple of years it was taken over by a new owner, who renovated and expanded the place. It's now a cute grocery store which offers a large variety of groceries. They have fresh produce for low prices. They don't have meat, but they do offer dairy, grocery staples, and some really good organic and specialty options - coconut oil, for example - for excellent prices. The place is better every time I come. #1 for produce in the area. read more
