Over the years, we have done projects of all ranges with Carole Kitchen and Bath and we return to them typically because they can serve customers on any scale from a single vanity to whole house; kitchen, built ins, bathrooms, pantry, wine rooms, etc. We have always found great value with the design team and have worked with many of them and homeowners always remark how pleasant it has been with Carole, and with a professional result. However, this past order was something telling. One of the trucks was in for repairs and a driver was also out, so they were down in two ways. Knowing we were in a bind for a deadline, Patrick (the owner..) showed up driving one of the other trucks and helped unload and deliver the cabinets. Our experience has been a nightmare of deceptive marketing and a total lack of accountability. ​The Major Issues: - ​Inconsistent Corrections: While the company initially corrected a few errors, they have flat-out refused to fix the remaining sizing mistakes, leaving us with a kitchen that simply doesn't fit together as promised. - ​Reneging on Refunds: At one point, they offered a 50% refund, a clear admission that they were at fault, only to withdraw the offer later. This level of unprofessionalism is staggering. - ​Deceptive Materials: We were led to believe we were purchasing "eco-friendly" wood. In reality, the material is veneered particle board. This was never disclosed to us during the sale. - ​Toxic Odor: Despite their "eco-friendly" claims, the cabinets emit a heavy formaldehyde smell. It has been nearly a year, and the chemical off-gassing still hasn't dissipated, raising serious health concerns. ​Bottom Line: Don't be fooled by their "eco-friendly" branding. The contractor that you recommended has done almost nothing for the last 5 days. He removed the existing cabinets and made holes in all the walls. The electrician that the contractor supplied helped make the holes and in the process cut through water pipes in the wall. The mess that has been made is incredible. I have tried to clean some of the mess that the contractor is incapable of cleaning himself. The contractor treats each small job like an impossible task that only he can solve. The contractor has lied to me several times. If I was working and not watching every thing he is doing I would believe his lies. I wanted a beautiful kitchen, but I have a disaster area that is not beautiful. This is a nightmare, but I am awake.. read more

I met with several kitchen designers and decided to work with Carole Industries due to their wider selection. My project was 3 condominiums in Somerville which consisted of cabinets for 3 full kitchens and 8 bathrooms. Sarah was a pleasure to work with throughout the project. She made recommendations and helped me select from 3 different brands of cabinets, and was extremely helpful in choosing specific materials (type of wood and colors). Sarah was always responsive to my questions. I am really impressed, given the scope of this project, with her accuracy in ordering this volume of materials. Sarah has decades of experience and it shows. Using 3 different cabinets lines, there was alot of work and opportunity to go wrong! Sarah's level of expertise, and fastidious attention to detail, was more than impressive! Seriously, I think she's superhuman in getting everything right! We ordered & received a new maple bathroom vanity with the reassuring comments that if anything needs to be adjusted, just let them know, and they will take care of it. We'll wouldn't you know, we had two drawers that didn't close all the way. We called Carole, they sent their guy out to look at it and said they would need to order two new sets of drawer slides. After 6 weeks of waiting and multiple calls to them, I was told the drawer slides were in. When I called to arrange a time to have them come to install, they said, oh no, we're not installing, you are. They said this was more than an "adjustment" and would not do the work needed to fix this issue. I called to discuss this with the boss and was just blown off. He tried tap-dancing around the issue of their broken promises and blamed the installation. Suffice to say, we will NEVER use or recommend using this company for any project. They will not stand behind the products they sell! read more

I have to admit, I never write reviews whether good or bad, but I am pretty dissatisfied. Let me start off by saying that the warehouse is nice and that this review probably does not speak for the entire company. Jeanie, for example, was so welcoming and friendly. We briefly talked on the phone before assigning me to a designer. A few months later, I walk in and she knew exactly who I was without us ever meeting. She was great! We were assigned to Don Rodd as our designer. This was my first kitchen renovation so everything was new to me. From the beginning, it felt like a bad match. Don did not seem interested at all in our concerns, questions or comments. Eventually, we figured out the design and I communicated it with my contractor. After Don came out to our house to finalize measurements, I realized that in the final design, he had moved the sink back its original location. We had established that the sink would be moved. He claimed that he messed up on the measurements and it wouldn't fit. This was baffling considering we provided all the measurements and he knew the dimensions to all of the cabinets. Not a big deal since it is a rental property, we proceed with everything. I place the order for the cabinets, counter top and a sink. When the cabinets arrived, the contractor had told me the person delivering the cabinets were ROLLING them. The contractor and I noticed 2 small defects and let Don know right away for replacement parts. The replacements have taken 3 weeks to get in and a lot of following up on MY end to get status updates on these. To be honest, every time I have brought it up to Don on the phone, it's seems that he had simply forgot. A day or two later, I realized that the sink had not been delivered with the cabinets. Again, I had to follow up with Don. Eventually, he sends over the sink, but it is the WRONG one. We ordered a D-shaped stainless steel sink and he sent over just a rectangular stainless steel sink. We were okay with the sink since it seemed a bit larger than the D-shaped we were looking at. Without even contacting me about this issue and letting me know, I receive a check in the mail for the difference in price. Not once did he show professional courtesy and try to contact me to let me know. For the counter tops, we had someone come and create a template for the counter after the cabinets were installed. We were told that it would take a week for the counters to come in. After chasing Don again, he tells me that the counters will actually take 10 business days. This put our entire project to a stop. The cherry on top was when he contacted me later saying that I owed another $300 because the counters were slightly bigger than anticipated and that bringing the counters up to the second floor would be $100. First of all, I still don't understand how the counter could possibly get larger considering Don had dimensions to the cabinets AND he came out to finalize the measurements of the kitchen. Second, he had never once mentioned a fee for having the counters brought up to the SECOND floor. It was clearly communicated to him that we were on the second floor and he even physically set foot in our kitchen. Boggles my mind how something like this was never brought into the numerous exchanges we've had. Fast forward to when the counter tops arrive. They were cut WRONG. The overhang on some edges were more than the others. The man that delivered the counter tops had to cut the counter top on site to have at least some alignment. Now, I have one edge jutting out about 4 inches where the others jut out about an inch. I expressed this to Don as well as following up with the replacement pieces and he totally disregarded it. Talk about customer service.. I am at the point where I have to accept things the way they are because we have been without a kitchen for so long and sending the counter tops back to be resized would take another 2 weeks. Things like this should have been done correctly in the first place considering the amount of money invested. Since I am completely new to this, for a lot of these things, I thought it was just part of "the process." I checked in with my contractor and even he said that all of this is normal. He even called Don for me. Overall this was a pretty poor experience. It seems like this company is pretty reputable based off of reviews, but I would not recommend this to any of my friends. read more

After having quite a negative experience when trying to work with one of the designers and posting a less than glowing review here, the owner of Carole kitchen read my review and contacted me, she seemed sincerely troubled by what happened and said that she researched in house what the issue was. I appreciate that she cares enough to contact a dis-satisfied customer and tries to resolve their issue. That means a lot. She doesn't have control over every employee at every moment and I can totally understand that. read more

I went to Carole's to purchase new vanities and countertops because I wanted to remodel my bathrooms. They had more good quality vanity options in-stock than anywhere else, which made it possible to get the project completed quickly.The designers were very helpful with helping me find the best style and size for my small bathroom. The bathrooms look great. My experience using this company lived up to my expectations based on several positive referrals from people in my town. I had my kitchen done quite a few years ago, but the cabinets are falling down. Now I know if they were installed properly they should never fall down. I had no problem with Carole's Kitchen, but the installer was terrible and did a terrible job. Never fixed the walls in back of the cabinets. The cabinets were not put in straight, If someone could contact me and we could resolve this problem, that would be great!!!! Much appreciated. The staff was very helpful in helping me with my special situation of replacing a cabinet so as to be able to fit in a new fridge. I was assigned a designer who helped me with a layout that flowed much better than I ever imagined. She also did a great job helping me choose a countertop and cabinet finish that exceeded my expectations. I love how it came out. I actually use my kitchen now. I've used Carole's for almost 15 years. They were first recommended by my contractor when I purchased four floor-to-ceiling units for my mudroom. Years later when I renovated my kitchen, I re-used those cabinets and my existing cabinets, and added new ones to create an island and to fill in the spaces on my expanded walls. Carole's warned me that the new cabinets may not match exactly to the ones that were in the house when we purchased it. I appreciated that information - and it all worked out beautifully. I've recommended them to several people, and have used them for five other kitchens in rental units. I also have purchased bathroom vanities from them. I love the service and responsiveness, and it sure beats my experiences in the big box stores. read more

We turned to Carole's Kitchen and Bath Design after Home Deport forgot to order our kitchen and we were moving into our new apartment. I cannot say enough about the service and consideration we received from Carole's Kitchen and Bath Design. We had a wonderful representative in Sara who was very accommodating. She came over to measure our kitchen in a very timely fashion and worked with us to get the best price for our choice of kitchen cabinets and counter top. Not only was the service excellent and customer service outstanding, but the price was absolutely fair and on target. The cabinets came in on time, were installed by an excellent cabinet man recommended by Sara. And when one door appeared damaged, a new one was ordered and installed within three or four weeks. In this day and age, when customers deal with unscrupulous business people and often have so many hassles, my whole interaction with Carole's was a dream and a pleasure. Carole Kitchen and Bath Design is a fantastic place. Unlike a competitor they are open on Saturday. I worked with Debbie Toland. She was very professional and everything was delivered as expected in excellent condition. For what can be an exciting but stressful purchase Debbie put it all together and made the process easy. One thing often overlooked in reviews but is critical to the success of the project is the collaboration between the Contractor, Cabinet and appliance store. Choosing the cabinets is only half the work. The layout may require adjustments based on the appliances purchased and how the Contractor sees it. There were many discussions between all groups. This was because of a few design considerations. Everyone worked well together and corrections were made when required. This is still a work in progress. The Cabinets are installed but still waiting for the appliances and countertops. The project is progressing according to plan and do not expect to have any issues. FYI - Without searching for comments the builder installing the cabinets was very impressed with the quality of the build and had to comment. read more

The customer Service we experienced at Carol's kitchen was terrible. The "designer" if you can call her that, was very rude, and never had time to sit down with us from the first day we walked into that place. And it seemed like no one else cared as well. We also had to chase her down, and be calling her almost every day for her to come up with a design of the kitchen and rough pricing. After two weeks of chasing her, she sent us an email saying that she can not do anything with the information we provided her (in the meanwhile we got 3 different quotes from 3 different places with exactly the same information). The "Designer" never offered us to sit down to ask us what we want to see in our new kitchen. For every question we asked was only one answer: "you have to pay $1000.00 before I can provide you with information" We ended up going to Kitchen Views in Newton, MA, The Service is GREAT, BOB (the designer) is very educated and responsible, and prices for better quality cabinets are almost $10,000.00 less. read more

We had such a bad experience with our purchase of a vanity, linen closet and toilet topper. We are re-doing our bathroom and are on a schedule with our contractors. When we purchased the set everything was fine and the schedule was going to work out great then we found out a week later after paid in full that it was back ordered. I am not sure why we were not told when we purchased the set that it was back ordered. During that week we could have been looking elsewhere for the same set so we could meet the scheduled time frame for our bathroom. Our contractors were outraged because there really is no excuse to tell someone that they will have it on time and then a week later say it's back ordered. The contractors now have to purchase a cheap vanity in the mean time so we can have a functional bathroom until the set comes in. We asked for some type of compensation and no answer from the sales associate that we worked with. We will not be using Carole Kitchen in the future or recommending them to any of our friends. All sales are final which they don't tell you unless you look at the fine print. read more

I was so excited to find a vanity to take with me and then searched the sale section with the sales representative for a counter top / sink. Found a beautiful marble piece that was too big and had a small flaw but was exactly what I wanted and the right price. It would work for me, if I could have it cut to size without paying a fortune. I bought he vanity and asked him to hold the over sized counter top/ sink while I went out to inquire about having it cut (and timing to have it done in time for the builder who is ready for it this week). 10 minutes later it was arranged and I was very excited to have this one sorted. When I circled back to Carole Kitchen and Bath Design less than 15 minutes after I left to say I would be right over to buy it, I stupidly told them the price and place I found down the street to have it done. Imagine my frustration after telling them what a good deal it was to have it cut, I was put on hold and then told it had mysteriously already been sold to someone else. Honestly, felt like it was sold out from under me (along with my idea and place to have it cut). So now I am back to square one looking for a counter top and sink in my price range for the builder this week. I say, if you go to this place, beware! read more

We purchased a bathroom vanity, medicine cabinet and mirror. When picking up the products we questioned the poor packing of the vanity and cabinet and were assured they were checked, were fine and it was just from the warehouse. Come to find out these products were floor models poorly repackaged and delivered to us as new and unused. No mention was ever made during several discussions prior to purchase that the products were going to be used nor were they discounted. We paid full price. The only "new" product was the vanity mirror which was not in stock and had to be ordered from the manufacturer. Prior to installation, when unpacked we found significant and visible damage to the vanity and the medicine cabinet. The sales rep agreed to replace the mirror front on the medicine cabinet, the vanity was scraped on one side which was hidden in a corner so we agreed to use as is but they went silent when asked about the products being floor models. Not a word nor an apology.The lack of integrity and honesty demonstrated by this company is deplorable. Shady and deceptive practises are routine and doing business with them is ill advised. read more
