South of the Border burger and onion rings

Service here is always fast and food is satisfying . Had the South of the Border burger and onion rings. Was pleased with this choice as it had lots of flavor and was prepared well.

    Incredible biscuit

Carolina Cafe has become our once a month morning date spot. It is definitely busy. Sometimes you score a booth but the last time we sat at the bar. However I can get those delicious biscuits, I'll sit there. They have mile high delicious incredible biscuits. It's what southern dreams are made of! Bacon is deep fried so if you prefer less crispy bacon, get sausage or country ham! Two of us eat a LARGE meal for 22 dollars including tip! You absolutely cannot beat it!

    Carolina Sampler with cocoa

Power was out at home thanks to rolling blackouts, so needed a place for a hot meal on a cold Christmas Eve morning. I'd been following them on Facebook, and saw that they were open. I drove down, seeing that not much else was going on in downtown Reidsville, but a few cars outside the cafe. When I walked in, I was greeted immediately and informed that a booth had a wait, or I could opt for the counter, which I chose. I was presented with a menu and ordered a hot cocoa to sip on. I decided on the Carolina Sampler, as it was my first visit, I was hungry, and I didn't know when the power would be back on at home. Breaking it down by item..the scrambled eggs were the softest I've probably ever had cooked on a flattop, the bacon was crispy, the way I like it, the sausage patty was decent, but not otherworldly, the ham was a bit on the salty side, but better than too sweet. The hashbrowns were good, but I forgot to order extra crispy (been a while since I was out for breakfast). The grits, sawmill gravy, apples, and biscuits were all very good in flavor and texture, and the hot cocoa was rich without being too sweet. Definitely have to get the gf down here some time.

Great hot dog and fried bologna sandwich

Their window states that they offer "Home Style Cooking", and one look at their menu verifies this. Any place that sells deviled eggs, sliced tomatoes, and fat back as menu items is southern style home cooking for sure. I've been a few times recently while exploring the Reidsville area, and have sampled an array of their offerings. Hot dog all the way: excellent, all beef wiener accompanied by excellent chili and slaw (and mustard and onions, of course) served on a soft bun. Definitely order this if you are a hot dog fan. Bologna burger: just a slice of fried bologna on a bun, but it is tasty. Meat loaf: typical fare, but very competent. Hamburger steak: similar to the meatloaf, just a simple comfort food. Potato salad: excellent with nice fresh chopped crunchies in it. Mac and cheese: hard to mess this up, and theirs is just fine.  Corn bread: I am not a corn bread fanatic, but this stuff was excellent! Muffin-style, with a lovely, perfectly crusty exterior and soft interior. The employees are cheerful and friendly, the price is fair, and the food is very good, classic southern comfort food.  Worth a stop if you are in Reidsville.

My $11 breakfast with ALL drinks shown...I also ate a good chunk of egg before I remembered to snap a pic!

Primo place - lives up to all the praise and good vibes! Ample parking on both sides of the street. Booths and stools to choose from; the menu is AMPLE and deserves your full attention...not only are entrees ample; they're priced great! I had eggs, hash browns, toast, corned beef hash (mmm), coffee and Mr Pibb and everything cost less than $11! Everything tasted great, and the only negative is that I live almost 300 miles away...but if any place deserves the attention and praise and miles driven, it's this one!

Breakfast Plate and Country sides with weenies and Sauerkraut.

This was the best fine ! Being close to Annie Penn Hospital is also great for family with their loved ones. The service was quick and very friendly. My mom ordered the breakfast plate and it didn't disappoint! Everything is was cooked perfectly. I decided to go with lunch because all the side orders were country food just like my grandmother would make for us. The squash and all the veggies were delicious. This is a place for breakfast, lunch, or, dinner.

Start the meal off right with some Patatas Bravas. Double-fried potatoes with a tasty salsa and garlic aioli. Those went by quick! It's savory with a hint of spice. For the dinner service entrees, the real winner is the Fish and Chips. It's a huge battered haddock fillet over a bed of fries, accompanied by cabbage slaw and tartar sauce. Don't forget the malt vinegar to pair with the fries! The haddock was done perfectly, as it was both crispy and juicy. It was filling, but not over the top. Quality over quantity for sure. The chicken tikka masala is also a nice touch to the menu. A bit different from the rest, but not overly left of field. It was spiced to be flavorful but not overpowering. The chicken was nice and tender. The herb rice was decent, but still paired well as a sidekick to the tikka masala. Feeling desserts? Leave some space for the tuxedo cake. It's very rich and a solid bite to close out the meal. Shoutout to the wonderful waitress who executed everything without an issue. Reservations are recommended. I'll certainly be back.

Upon entering, I realized how tiny the breakfast "buffet" was, but decided to step out on faith LOL and try it anyway. Mainly retirees and elderly people seem to frequent this establishment. Items on the buffet: a very small fruit bar on one side with cottage cheese, melon, pineapple and grapes I believe. A very small hot food bar on the left with ham, bacon, hot dogs, bologna, grits, eggs, cheese sauce for the eggs, sausage, French toast sticks, mini pancakes, fried potatoes, sausage/peppers/onions. Pros You do get a little variety of everything I suppose Excellent wait staff - very friendly and sweet Easy to get to Ample parking Cons Buffet was too small despite having so many items Price of $15 ....not worth it.
