If you're in the mood for some good, comforting country eats, look no further. My MIL has all her meds at Carolina Apothecary (need to write a not very favorable review on them later), so we've been checking out places to have lunch in Reidsville. She's been going to Farmers Table for years and wanted me to try it so we went for lunch on a Wednesday around 11:45. Got a table right away but within fifteen minutes they were full. Appeared to be many regulars enjoying their meals and making small talk with the very friendly staff. I went with the chopped steak with grilled onions, hush puppies, green beans and Mac and cheese. The meat was very tender and well seasoned. The green beans were canned but decent but I didn't love the Mac and cheese. The puppies were great! My MIL had the fried pork tenderloin with black eyed peas and mustard greens. Biscuit and cornbread came with it and were very good as well. I got a side of the brown gravy and loved it, just like my aunt Freda used to make! We enjoyed our lunch and will definitely return. Loved the sign on the front door advising not to enter with muddy shoes! read more

I had never been and decided to go this morning for breakfast. Drove over there and discovered they have changed their hours and don't open until 11 am, so no breakfast. Sad since there's already almost nowhere to eat breakfast in Reidsville when Sanitary cafe (the best option) is closed. Carolina cafe and Reid's house are too small and don't have enough seating. read more

Having been a couple of times with a group of people I know, I was hoping that I was just hitting bad days, no it's normal. I have had runny grits, overcooked biscuits, soggy bacon. Today it was good grits, crispy bacon but underdone biscuits. The worst part of a marginal breakfast was to see that in the last week or so, they have instituted a 3.9% surcharge to use a debit or credit card. OK, they are calling it an immediate cash discount but no, it's not. If it was a cash discount, the bill would be menu pricing minus the 3.9%. What they do is ring up your bill and add 3.9% to it for a card. It's clearly a surcharge. Helpful wait staff doesn't make up for a shoddy kitchen staff or management policies. Don't waste your time going here, they have an inconsistent quality for food and now, it's 3.9% more expensive if you don't have a wad of cash in your pocket. read more
