Dine in | Lunch | $1-10 Undoubtedly the best service I have received in a very long time-- it sucks I didn't catch any of the staff names but they know who they are! This was my first visit to Reidsville and wanted to grab something to eat before my ride back to Greensboro. When we arrived, we were greeted in the parking lot, at the front door as a staff member asked for our beverage choices, and on the way to our seats from our waitress. Dining here felt so welcoming. Throughout our meal we were checked on, had our beverages refilled without asking-- staff was wonderful and attentive overall. As this is a typical diner, you head to seat of your choice and pay at the front counter towards the end of your meal. The menu had its breakfast options, sandwiches to choose from, and burgers as well. You know, diner food. All reasonably priced. We ordered quite some food and our total was roughly $35-- can't beat that! The banana pudding was deeeeeelicious! All homemade, even the whip cream. I enjoyed my meal a whole lot. This may just be a go to when stopping by in town. Shoutout to the wonderful staff on April 14th around 4 p.m. ! You made this experience a great one Food: 5 | Service: 5 | Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes: Cheese Burger, Waffle, Homemade Banana Pudding Parking space: Plenty of parking Parking options: Free parking lot

The pies are homemade and very good. You can order a slice or you can put in an order to have a whole pie made for you.

Reid's house is your classic hometown mom and pop restaurant. Great food no matter what you order, laid back atmosphere with friendly staff. Breakfast to burgers, it's all good here. I went with my usual breakfast today. Two eggs scrambled, with bacon, hash browns and a biscuit. I also added a waffle just because who doesn't want a waffle??

NOTE: Some of the info on the Yelp page is not correct.... this place is open until 10 PM, not early afternoon. And they take credit cards. ---------- For what it is, this is excellent. Reid's House is a very unassuming looking roadside restaurant on a main street in a small town. Reidsville NC is an old tobacco town that is within commuting distance of Greensboro NC and Danville VA. And while the inevitable sprawl of Walmarts and Lowes Hardware and strip malls is slowly creeping in around the edges, the town itself still feels like it is moving at a pace that is a notch more relaxed than the small cities nearby. Reid's House fits perfectly with that atmosphere. It's a crowded, busy place -- busy in customers but not the pace of eating and meeting up with friends and neighbors. There are perhaps 7 booths seating 4-ish and 9 to 12 counter stools, plus an area to sit and wait for a table. The staff is super friendly despite being pressed to keep up with everything. Wife and I ended up eating there breakfast and dinner one day recently (our planned dinner choice was closed) so we saw two shifts of the kitchen/wait staff and two four executed meals. We were very pleased. Breakfast for me was over medium eggs, bacon, grits, coffee, and wheat toast. The coffee was really good -- strong without being obnoxious. The eggs were cooked perfectly, and the grits(!) were perfect. Most places serving grits either cook them to death in the holding pan so that they come out grainy and clumpy or they are soup. These at Reid's House are still wet yet retain their mouth feel and flavor. Excellent. The bacon was good quality and cooked well. Wife had country ham and eggs with grits. The country ham had a deep and salty flavor, as we'd hoped for. We also shared a side of sausage gravy over biscuits. Plenty of good NC sausage enrobed in that white gravy. All in all an artery clogging meal, and so worth it. We saw waffles and pancakes go by us that looked great and smelled better. Returning for dinner, we went simple. Wife had a grilled cheese and bacon sandwich with fries (she ordered it jut to get more of that great bacon from breakfast) and I had a "Master Burger" which is basically a flat-top cooked double cheeseburger. Both were perfect for a late dinner food. Also on the menu are more hearty options -- pork chop plates, chopped sirloin, a variety of steaks and deli/southern diner sandwiches, soups, salads. I am sure they're good -- in a small town like this a restaurant depends on repeat business. I hope to try some of them when I am next in town.

Reid's House is simply that hometown diner you go to that feels like you're at home. They're family owned and have the nicest staff. We stopped in this morning for breakfast, which is one of our favorites mealtimes at Reid's House. I usually go for their eggs with bacon and hash browns, but always have to get a waffle no matter what! Can't put my finger on it, but it just tastes amazing! They have several specials and dessert pies you can choose from as well. You can't go wrong at Reid's House!

Driven by many times, and have visited other restaurants in the vicinity (Bona's, Fursty's,…read moreMonterrey Mexican), but never stopped in. Looking to try somewhere new on a Friday night, and with few reviews and no menu pics online, decided to gave it a whirl. Parking lot had very few cars for 6:30 on a Friday night, and the amount of customers inside relayed that. Sat ourselves as requested; server came in a couple minutes to bring menus and take our drink orders. Menu isn't very big and definitely qualifies as 'diner' food: burgers, sandwiches, salads, and simple lunch/dinner items like baked ham, chops, chicken, etc. There were a few kids and senior choices also listed. Very limited drink choices, as well; just a few sodas, coffee, tea, OJ, and milk. (No milkshakes?!) I opted for the chicken taco salad, and was immediately a bit dismayed by the dressing choices. Just your basic salad dressings; I requested ranch but with a side of salsa to kick it up a bit. Girlfriend opted for chicken tenders, corn, fries, and a dinner roll, with semi-sweet tea. My salad overall was okay; the shell was nice and crisp, the chicken was seasoned and plentiful, but there could have been more cheese, and maybe some chopped onions and black olives, as well as a more appropriate dressing, like a chipotle ranch. Barb's chicken tenders were very good; flavorful and juicy. The fries were crispy on the outside, but still with a pillowy center. The corn was apparently frozen, as it was a bit chewy, but was served in way too much liquid, and she had to ask for butter. Her dinner roll was originally forgotten, but then a couple freshly warmed ones were brought out, which were good (though also without butter). Her tea leaned a bit on the sweet side, but was good.

The coffee was hot and constantly refilled, the portions were generous, and the service was friendly in a laid-back environment. I have a hard time resisting traditional eggs Benedict, so that is what I ordered. My partner had the pork loin with eggs and a side of grits. Neither of us was disappointed. The waiter was very polite and friendly, he made sure we had what we needed and answered any questions we had about the menu and food choices. The food was delicious! My niece and cousin had the pancake, they were the size of the plate and quite tasty! My other niece had the crab cake sandwich, she said it was good but the fruit was plated on the same plate so it was warm which was not appealing to her so she didn't eat it. I had the French toast platter with the fried chicken. The French toast was pretty good but the bread used was pretty flat but it was tasty and the chicken was overcooked, there was some black spots from being fried too long. The hit at our table was the cheesy grits, very cheesy and flavorful. We'd definitely go back to try other things on the very extensive menu!!
