When I try to schedule a filling, the receptionist says my daughter needs, and it's 4 months out. I ask if we can get an appointment with anyone else with an earlier availability. The receptionist says that's not allowed. we can only get an appointment with the dentist assigned. Ok. So we make the appointment, and I'm worried the whole time about the cavity. Wondering how much worse it's getting. Unfortunately, on the day of the appointment, I was held up by work, and we get there 15 minutes late. They cancelled my appointment. I ask to reschedule. The next availability is another month out. I tell them to forget it and call another local dentist. At the appointment, I was told my daughter doesn't have a cavity.

This prompted me to seek asecond opinion. At Dr.Ellis's practice, there was a new dentist named Dr. Reeves. She and the staff here were extremely professional and nice! They made my son laugh alot, which helped keep his nerves calm. Dr. Reeves also explained the method they would use first on my son, which really put my mind at ease as a parent in building that trust. I always take notice of how employees work together and at this practice I noticed that everyone was communicating well and kept busy and seemed to really enjoy their jobs. I have already recommended this place to 5 families!

Second, while I understand most children love screens, it seems they would rather the children zone out on screens from the moment they arrive rather than actually engage with them. The waiting room is VERY loud and there are three devices with games on them that children sit and play at top volume, and for any child that is nervous, the waiting room is anything but calming. Plus, during our dental procedures, the assistant kept watching the movie that was playing, in addition to remarking "I'm soooo tired". Additionally, they were touted as having a dog that visits the children, and we had only one siting of this mysterious dog.

They have no form of appointment reminder like text or email like any other practice yet they fail to give courtesy call reminders but charge you $45 for missing an appointment. My daughter went in for a filling and they called to tell me it was actually a crown but when I went to pay the difference they have another past due amount that is not explained and tried to brush it off saying I only had to pay for the crown. Why would I move on without finding out what you say I owe from a past bill that I never received: I had to pull teeth to find out what the charge was and their excuse on why I was never notified about unpaid insurance fees from 7 months ago is that it was the billing person who is no longer with the company didn't send invoices out. Then when I ask for a detailed bill, it still doesn't show what the charge is for but the amount is increased by even more that you just showed me. Then you tell me billing will get back to me when I ask for a full detailed report ? Nope! Whoever is in billing is obviously not doing their job properly so I don't trust you to get back with me. You either give me an itemized bill today or a document releasing me from all charges... I will wait (and cancel all future appointments while you are at it.) They were not helpful in trying to figure out my charges and I had to insist on settling all charges before I left. I simply could have left after she said it's old, and you just need to pay for today's services but I wanted to get to the bottom of it! No apologies for the inconvenience, no attempts to resolve my issue. The girl kept walking away to handle other things so I politely stood at the counter until I got answers and paid the full amount due so I never have to deal with them again. Then I ask them to explain to my daughter the importance of brushing and flossing multiple times a day to prevent this from happening again... do you think they did that? Nope so you do all this work on an 8 yr old with out explaining what you are doing and why. Why put her through almost 2 hours of work then! I asked them to explain so maybe it would sink in if someone other than nagging mom and dad told her, maybe it would make more sense coming from the dentist ....I AM ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTED
