We have a service contract with Carolina Cool for our condo. When we had a few warm days in late February, we turned on the air and it didn't cool. I called Carolina Cool first thing in the morning; by 10 a.m. the service tech was checking out our unit. Unfortunately, our 25 year old unit was not worth the cost to repair. We asked to have an estimate for a new unit from Carolina Cool. By 3:15 the same day, we had a very professional sales rep come and give us the estimate. Richard did a great job checking the unit inside and out measuring, checking the power, etc. We were very impressed with the responsiveness and professionalism, that we placed the order. We were contacted all along the process with updates as to the status of the unit we needed. An appointment was set up for the date it was expected as well as a second appointment for the next day in case there was a delivery issue. The unit was installed on the original date at the time that was promised. The two services techs were also very professional and made sure we understood the unit operation before they left. We were contacted again after the installation to make sure we were satisfied or had any further questions. A couple people made a remark that Carolina Cool's prices were higher than some others. Our estimate was just about spot on of what we thought we would pay for a new unit! I had just been told by ARS Myrtle Beach that my less than three year old unit had a leak in the copper tubing and it was gonna cost me 1500 dollars to repair. He said it was covered under warranty but this was the labor cost and the job would take 4-6 hours. And this was after they made me wait 13.5 hours to show up to my house, which was now 90 degrees. Thankfully I was smart enough to know something was wrong and refused the service. Because ARS made me wait so long to get someone out there it was nearly midnight, so me and my family stayed at my grandmothers. Next day called Carolina Cool and the tech was out there in less than 2 hours. He agreed their was a leak in the tubing but he said it was a simple fix. And he also said it was most likely ARS who caused the leak when they installed the unit. The repair took 20 minutes and only cost me $165.00. My AC is back up and running better than ever. The technician, Jamie, was very helpful and explained everything he was doing and most of all he did not talk down to me like I am some idiot. He was very professional and efficient. I recommend Carolina Cool because they care about the customers and are not looking to suck their bank accounts dry. Thirty days before we were to move in to our house full time our HVAC unit stopped working. We were new to the area and had no idea what to do, but had picked up a Carolina Cool business card from our HOA office when we had first closed on our property. Upon calling we were told they would have a service technician out within two hours. He arrived about an hour later and quickly determined our 14 year old system was indeed in need of repair/replacement. He then called the office and arranged for a sales person to come and visit. About an hour or so after the technician left, our sales rep arrived. Since we are unfamiliar with HVAC units, having never owned a property with that type of system, we had called a friend of ours from back home who installs to see what we were up for. When the sales rep arrived he was very thorough on his description of our various options. He did not try to upsell us,, and everything he said was verbatim to what our friend had told us to look for. Three days later our new system was installed. We were out of State at time, but they kept in close contact with us and we were pleasantly surprised when we arrived a few weeks later to find the house immaculate and our new system running perfect. My air conditioning went the first time I used it in my new house. I called three places the first one told me you would cost over $2,000 to fix the air conditioning which I didn't have. So I figured I'd see if anybody could do it cheaper. Carolina cool came out and told me that I was going to be ripped off by the other installer. It's simply was out of freon. For really less than $150 my air conditioner was back on. My house very cool and with the summer approaching I bought a maintenance package from them that was very reasonably priced. This company is wonderful! Professional, prompt and knowledgeable! I had problems with my HVAC not heating.. temp was 4 degrees below thermostat setting. I have a home warranty and paid $125 service fee for them to send Local HVAC company to determine problem. THEY said NOTHING was wrong. Had been told I had a mold problem . Called Carolina Cool, and they sent out a young man named Mike . He checked out the problem, and said it was not mold , that it was just wet dirt , and that nothing had to be done . It gave my wife and me a sense of relief . He also suggested that if we were worried , that we should think about putting in a U.V bulb. I would hire this company if and when we need to replace this unit . Plumber showed up promptly and installed shutoff in garage for outside water spigot so it would not freeze. Did a nice professional job. Installed a new heat pump in April (Carrier) and have had no less than 5 service visits to correct performance. Unit may have been delivered with insufficient freon which seems to be working. But auxiliary heat function seems to go on more frequently than old unit. But always prompt and courteous service. read more

Carolina Cool, great service and install. AC quit working on the 24 of May Right before a holiday weekend. The system was down and could not and was not worth repairing. Had planed the previous year to replace the system but was hoping to get another year of service. Carolina Cool jumped through hoops and performed a system install on Saturday of the holiday weekend. Rich K: Had a new system installed, the techs did a great Job. week and a half later our thermostat (cor-7) failed and we had no heat. Called CC and they responded immediatly. Seems the thermostat shorted out and a new thermostat (honeywell) was installed and is now working perfectly.
