So the guy tried to upsell me to $410 for the extra 3 vents.... I said well just do the 14 vents and he stated "they could not do that". This company is an upsell SCAM who will waste your time and mental energy. I was upset as I took the morning off of work to be home for this "deal". When I told the Tech I was angry about them wasting my time on an upsell and that if I can't trust them now I could never trust them to do actual work on my home he got a little mouthly. Yet they left and charged us saying they did the full job. We would have never known had we not had a third party inspect it. I needed to get my air duct vents cleaned. They did it for me in the past after trying to sell me something that cost near $2,000 to kill the mold growing on my inside unit. I told them "No, just clean the vents please". I had a coupon for 14 vents cleaned for 69.95. I used it a couple of years ago with no problems. Now I asked them to clean the vents at another property I have and they told me they could not clean the vents unless I bought what they really want to sell which was the mold removal inside the actual machine. Needless to say, he would not do my vents without removing the mold from the machine itself. Gave me some lame excuse that it will disturb the mold in the vents and get in the air. If the mold is in the machine, its already getting in the air. In the past, they cleaned my vents without cleaning my machine. Throw your coupon away!! Its just there to lure you in to spend close to $2,000. Your not getting your vents cleaned for 70.00 coupon unless you spend the $2,000. All they did was waste my time. i dont think they do a complete job ,you have to go behind them and check ,nobody uses a flashlight they all use light from the phones. they left a big amount of debris stuck in my bathroom vent luckily i told them while they was here and they still didnt remove all of it i had to dig it out myself. now as far as underneath in the trunk lines i pulled my new filter out and sure enough debris was stuck in it and in the box behind it. did they do a complete job? they barely stuck the blower tube down into my ducts so i am really not 100% sure of they work read more

There is not a good thing to say here. We scheduled a service 2 weeks in advance for a 10am to 12pm time slot. The day prior they called and confirmed for 8am to 10am. Okay, not a huge deal since I am home anyways and it will be nice to have them out quicker so I can go on with my day. Day of service: Crickets. No one ever showed up. At 12:20pm I call the office to find out where they are at and I am told that they have no idea why the technician never showed up. Awesome. I give them my phone number and the associate promises to call me back with an answer. She never did. Instead she calls my wife, at work, an hour after my call to tell her that she JUST found out that they are short handed because one of their Technicians came to work sick and they had to quarantine their staff. Her resolution was to try and schedule another appointment for two days later with the assurance that we would not lose the "special rate advertised" when we made the appointment. Seriously? This place wasted my morning, is completely disorganized, did not follow through and left it up to their customer to find out why no one showed up. The COVID excuse is played out at this point and whoever runs this business needs to remember that communication is the key to keeping customers. I called this company because I had a coupon that seemed too good to be true. Well, it was. When I scheduled, I got a vague assurance that the coupon would cover most of the work. I should have demanded a quote. On arrival, the technician didn't mention price and I was shocked at the total cost being far above what I expected. After a free inspection of my system, he went over various options, including getting a dehumidifier for several thousand dollars. Of course I didn't agree to any of his suggestions for fixes to various problems we do not actually have. I went ahead with the cleaning, which cost about 6 times what I expected. I paid, of course, and received a receipt by email that had NOTHING itemized. I felt like I had been duped and would like to warn others to avoid this company. Don't believe what you receive in VAl-Pak or other coupon distribution sources regarding this company. Carolina Duct & Crawl are so shady When Myles came to our house, I actually thought he was so genuine and helpful until I saw what he'd done. Myles put in a UV light in our air system by tearing into our air duct. The UV light wasn't even suspended in air which renders it useless. Took pictures and sent it to their customer service guy, Don. Don and I agreed that they would replace the torn air duct and take the UV light out. They returned a week later and I went into the crawlspace with them and realized they were not going to replace the duct. I got on the phone with Don who denies saying he was going to replace but instead "repair as needed." I was livid. F bombs were dropped on my part because these guys were screwing me over not once, but twice. I demanded that they at least give me a new duct line so I can have legitimate HVAC people install it, which they begrudgingly did. Today Myles calls me to demand payment for cleaning services for $494 which I told them I would pay after my refund for the UV light is processed. He says "that's not how it works" this is rich coming from the guy who started this mess in the first place. He then says that I was unprofessional for yelling and cursing at Don and that I "blew things way out of proportion for such a little mistake he made" -- really, how dare you? I'm baffled and in disbelief with this company. How does a company keep a guy who does this kind of work to be in charge? I havent even used their services yet but already got bad service experience with them. I had the air duct cleaning appointment for today (4/28) between 12-3pm (time window given by them) but still they couldnt make it and called me around 1:30pm saying they wont be able to make it today but next week but I wont lose my special rate which I believe one of the reviewers got the same experience as I did and they gave him the same assurance. This company looks like a joke to me. Not a single positive comment from any customer. I think everyone including me got lured by their super cheap specials but doesnt look like its worth at all. I hate to write a bad review, but I'm quite disappointed in the service. Originally I called the service because I just bought the house and had a moldy smell coming out from the downstair vents. I found a coupon in the mail from Carolina Duct & Crawl and went with them. The work they did was good for a seasonal cleaning, but it never really solved the problem with the smell. I called them back at least 3 times where they replaced one ductwork and other small patches, but never got rid of the smell. A year later, I put my hand in the air duct and my hand was all black! So something went wrong. After I spent over $1,000 with this company, i have to replace my duct work again with a more professional service. I wish they'd hire professionals and have the young men to learn from them to get the job done correctly. The next day we realized that they had stolen a pair of Jordan's from our master bedroom closet. There was no reason for them to be in our closet as we have no air vents in there. So far the company has been less than helpful. When my husband called to talk with the customer service rep, he insinuated that we were lying and made a joke out of the situation. If you hire this company to work with, be prepared to have items from your home stolen. As we continued to communicate with the company about our stolen items they continued to be unhelpful. When called told them the purpose of having it cleaned. Baught the house to flip. Had a dog smell And wanted it cleaned .asked if they use a deodorizer she said yes. The Process I was told on the phone was not what they did. I could have bought the tool they used and saved $250. They quoted me $24 per vent to deodorize unit. I called the office she said it would be between $9and $12. Tech said $15 per vent. So taking a drill with a brush on it and running it a few feet in the vent and a wet and vac with a hose with no end running it four or five feet inside vent and going to the return and running it 7 or 8 feet inside. That is not what I call a correct job.feel like they are crooked. Wouldn't recommend or use them. Please check all your ducks before using them.I was on speaker when she was explaining their proses and the tech said that is not the correct way that the drill and brush was better.no HEPA filters used on the phone she said that is their proses . Don't be duped. I was. Carolina Duct & Crawl put out a Val Pak coupon that is a trick. They use it to get into your house. I called and made an appointment. I answered all the qualifying questions, at least I thought. The phone rep was very vague on the questions I had, but I wasn't overly concerned. She set an appointment with out asking if it was good for me. But I took, and stayed home that day. I don't give her too many points for professionalism. Two representatives arrived on time, they came inside my home, and said they were going to look around the house. I am not even sure they were there to do the work themselves, as I didn't see any ladder or equipment. Never-the-less, I said I would like the services they offered on the coupon: "13 Vents, 1 Return Vent, and a Main Trunk line PLUS a Complete System Inspection. I was told, "the coupon doesn't relly apply and in reality only applied to something the size of a mobile home", and "they would have to give me an estimate based on their visit." The actual service would likely me much more, despite meeting the coupon offer requirements. At this point i just decided pass on their services. The representatives were very nice about it and even explained they get this alot, and the bosses know about it.
