Last summer an out of town buddy of mine came to CLT and we played a round of golf. He lost the head to his 3 wood off the tee. It flew into the woods and he teed up another ball and hit it with his driver. He left the head of the club in the woods but kept the shaft. I went back and got the head and asked did he want it, he said 'no', I don't want to fool with having it fixed. Since last summer, I've talked to several golf shops and pros at courses who do repair about getting it fixed. The conversation usually begins with: 'oh, I dunno, it might cost you a pretty penny'. I've not given up because I need a good 3 wood. Today, I called this shop and spoke to John. He asked some good questions and talked optimistically about the prospect of repair and replace with another shaft at a reasonable price. I took it in today and met with John who gave me a solid assessment and a reasonable estimate on repair PLUS a Senior discount! Enjoy sitting in with John (owner). I spent hours there for a custom fitting. Last time for that was over 15 years ago and I swung a dozen times, the person said take these and off I went. All of this with off the shelf clubs. John suggested shafts, lengths, types of clubs and detailed which clubs and why while we spoke and tried some. Yes, each club and suggestion fit my game and I was hitting the clubs pure and with greater confidence due to proper fittings. Don't be fooled by others saying they are club fitters...the pros trusted John in the day and he still plays now. He uses some tech to visualize things and get speeds, etc. but you can't beat good "old school" visual and suggestions. John, will look to stay in a budget and can suggest new and used if it makes sense. read more

There are golfers and then there are those folks that love golf, work golf, live and breathe golf. The old timers that hang around the ranges and give folks free lessons, the club pros with 35 bags full of old clubs, the superintendent that breaks the course record on the weekends, that's who comes here. They stop by for a quick peek at the cool toys and use "having their wedge re-gripped" as an excuse to have a great conversation. I've used all of their services from club repair, loft/lie adjustments, customization and I cannot recommend them highly enough. They do great work and give you a great deal! I went to Carolina golf manufacturing today to get a set of clubs regripped and had a fantastic experience. I brought along my driver to have the shaft looked at. John quickly knew the club was too long for me, took off an inch and a half and threw a new grip on it with some lead tape to put a little more weight in the head. Just holding the club, I can tell I will have much more control in the tee box. John and Alex were great to work with, both very knowledgeable and always looking for a good conversation. Not to mention their prices are extremely reasonable. They just seemed to be a couple of guys doing what they love to do in their little shop. They do fittings and have a ton of great gear to outfit your bag. We will definitely be back! Also, signed up for a fitting appointment Monday, these guys do it all. read more

This place was recommended to us by friends. It's tucked away in a strip mall type of setting that would otherwise be easy to miss. What an excellent decision is was to stop by. The guys that run this place are SO knowledgeable and friendly! I tagged along with my boyfriend as he bought his very first set of golf clubs. The store had a wide variety of options from new to used to pick from, from affordable to high quality. They talked with him to figure out his needs then recommended an affordable set, had him try them out in the store, and even offered him an amazing deal on a driver and bag to make it complete. It was such a pleasant experience, and we left feeling like we got so much more than what we expected. I'd definitely recommend this place to people of all golf levels/experience. This is my GO TO PLACE FOR ANYTHING! If I need club adjustments, re-gripping, or anything else! Bare with me this is long, but I thought this place deserved a full review! Originally, I thought I would have to go to a bigger store or go to some retail store and spend big money to replace my driver shaft from a stiff flex, to a X-stiff flex. However that was far from the case, I was recommended here through a couple of guys that I had meet at a golf course and decided to give it a try. I walked in and talked with Jon, who was more than happy to help me! We talked about my play style, where I'm at as a player, what I was looking for, and recommendations on how to improve my game! His insight, knowledge, and expertise on my driver shaft change and other recommendations were awesome! After, about a few minutes talking we decided on a shorter and lighter x flex shaft for my driver and a couple days later it was complete! Excited was a understatement, so I took straight out to the range and I was shocked! I hit the ball better, but it was more on the heel. After about a few more hits, the loft adjustment on my Callaway driver was starting to fall off the end of the shaft. Most of the time, I would have been upset that my driver was broke especially with a new shaft. But, I felt at ease knowing that I could take the club back and it would be fixed!! After going back and talking to Jon once again and how the shaft felt. He determined that I could use a heavier and slightly longer shaft and to come back in a couple of days. A couple of days past, and got my new shaft with no questions asked and went straight to the range once again. A couple of hits in, and it felt like I was on top of the world!!! Hitting the ball straight and pure! There has never been such a satisfying feeling! I can't thank Jon and everyone there enough for all their help and input and such nice people to talk too! Had Hogan Radials re-shafted, loft and lies adjusted. Stop on the way home to hit a couple of balls and could tell immediately difference in the feel of the club.
