I called about a warranty issue with some windows we had installed in 2003. They were supposed to be covered with a lifetime warranty but now they have no record of our purchase. Contacted about a leak in my bathroom. Salesperson said it was due to an old shower that required replacement. Shower was installed incorrectly, company agreed to full reinstall. After reinstall, leak continues and company says it is not because of the shower. Company refused to compensate for predatory sales tactics, overpriced materials, and continued damage from leak they were supposed to fix initially. Shane McMahan was predatory and manipulative. This company sucks!! I waited 2 months for someone to show up and install walk in shower after removing current shower & tub. Finally came, finished work and left. The shower pan was/ is completely wrong. Had to do "fix" so shower glass could be installed. So on to shower glass or so I thought. Took 2 months to get glass installed. (Installed yesterday, 4/3/21) So, from Nov 2020 to April 2021 for 3 days worth of work. No communication from company. I had to call them and leave a message and hoped they would return my call. Sales pitch is wonderful, but once you sign up it's a different story. Never, ever use this company. Gave one star only because I had too to be able to review. Zero stars Is more appropriate. Such a fantastic job! Looks so much better! Cant wait for my next project. My bathroom has never looked better and all my issues were taken care of. My designer, Adam took his time with me to make sure I got exactly what I was looking for and that nothing was left to chance. He was very knowlagable and gave me several great tips. Next thing I plan to have CHR take care of are my windows. Adam showed me how much energy I could be saving by swapping them out and I couldnt believe it! They will pay for themselves and my home will look so much better. I'm planning on selling in the mext few years and I want to make sure that I get the best price for my home so this helped me so much. Wanted a quote for 21 windows. They MANDATED that my wife attend the full presentation. She has been involved, at least partially, in a few others and frankly we have decided on the colors/options etc. Now it comes down to the construction, about which she knows nothing and I have extensive experience. They simply decided NOT to show up for the appointment. A company that does business this way is shady at best and I recommend avoiding them and their business practices. This company is by far the most unorganized company I have EVER dealt with. I had scheduled an appointment with them for a Saturday. On Thursday I get a call to confirm my following day appointment, when I told the gentleman on the other line that I had asked for a Saturday appointment he caught a sarcastic attitude with me and continued to go down his call script. I tried putting up with it until he kept on asking for the same information over and over, I finally had enough and asked him to cancel my appointment but he wasn't willing to hear or listen to that, I then asked to speak to his supervisor and she pretty much did the same thing. I finally told her that she just needed to cancel my appointment all together and that I had lost all confidence in their company. Any other company would have probably just canceled my appointment and not tried to egg this on. Later on that day I get another call from someone else wanting to confirm my Friday appt... Are you kidding me? Not wanting to waste more time, I explained to their associate that I had now asked three times for my appointment to be canceled and since they could not figure it out via phone I would go online and submit a formal request. I go online to their contact us section and submit an inquiry with their customer service personnel to cancel my appointment, this would make attempt #4. Am thinking that finally it's over, wrong! That following morning, now Friday, I get a call from a very enthusiastic customer care agent wanting to schedule me for an in person quote, it was OBVIOUS, she hasn't read the comments on my inquiry about simply wanting my appt canceled. I told her that her company had already wasted enough of my time and that since she had not read my request prior to calling me, she could either finally cancel my appointment or waste their own staff's time and send someone to our house just to be turned away, her response was "Sir, we certainly wouldn't want to waste the time of our estimators", but I guess it's ok for them to keep calling me to waste my time... You'd think that it would be the end of it but apparently not... Later on that Friday I get yet another call from them. This time the gentlemen identifies him self as a manager wanting to confirm that I in fact wanted my appointment canceled, although he too was very snappy, I believe that he finally actually canceled my appointment, but it certainly took an act of congress to get them to listen to the simplest request ever! If they can't get something this simple right, I highly doubt they'd be able to keep valuable information such as warranty, quotes, blueprints, etc in line. read more

When the rep called me to confirm my appointment, she told me that my husband had to be here with me for the appointment. I told her that I am the wage earner, I pay the bills and that I would be the one meeting with the person coming out. She told me that was against their policy and that my husband had to be here. I went online to try to obtain a quote for a bathtub replacement. We were in the process of moving into a bee home. I was not quite ready to have the work done. When I was not able to get an estimated cost online I moved on to another place. Since the moment I filled out the online form I have been harassed by this company. Called multiple times from multiple numbers. When I asked for them not to contact me and let me reach back out to them when I am ready, the guy on the other end of the line said, "Well, you reached out to us." I expressed why and said that I am not ready. I thought that would be the end of it but NO! I received another call yesterday (making a total of 6 calls.) I understand they don't want to keep coming back out to convince the other spouse if they're involved but you have to be willing to hustle for business these days! I am a single female in my 30s. I don't know if that played a part in my experience, but wanted to share that information. I called to get a quote for a bathtub replacement. I made it clear that I was not looking for anything fancy. Simply replacing a standard tub and putting up a 3 wall surround. No tile. I'm aware of how much this would cost if I were to do it myself, as my family flips homes up in CT (& I understand that they have their own product). The rep came & was late. She gave a ridiculous 90 min presentation. I initially called them for a quote to avoid doing it myself to SAVE TIME & I made this clear in my call. They quoted me just under $12k. INSANE. I said absolutely not and within less than 3 minutes, it was dropped to around $7k....with NO changes to the actual product I would be purchasing. I was appalled. Talk about taking advantage of the customer. I respect the rep, as it was clear she was young and trained to give the presentation. She wasn't the one to make the call on the pricing. I received a call the following morning by a different rep that asked if he offered a better price, would I consider. So now there's an even lower price for the same product?! The lowest possible price should have been the FIRST one given to me. I will never work with this company. read more

Please stay away from this guy! We contracted this company to do some structural work under our house. Our house is now on the market and potential buyers wanted to make sure the work was done properly. Well, after some digging, we find out they a permit was never pulled. So we hired a structural professional to certify work under house had been done correctly... let's just say we are about 2000 bucks on the hook to fix and correct items on our list that he supposedly fixed. This company spent several months doing a job that we originally was told was supposed to be done in 2 months. Disappointed but not surprised! Stay away from these crooks! Totally took advantage of female homeowner. Charged a ridiculous amount for roofing, saying their workers and guarantee were so much better then anyone else. They ordered an extra pallet of roof shingles that weren't needed, which they "volunteered" to take away. Left garbage and cigarette butts everywhere, AND peed on the house. Then when I tried to use they're "lifetime guarantee" which they said would cover ANY type of damage, including nature, now is not covered. Paid twice as much as with anyone else, with nothing to show for it. They also said this type of shingle never stains. Well guess what, it stains! read more

Was excited to get someone out to our house to give us a quote on our bathtub and shower that we wanted remodeled as we bought the house at 30 years old and it needed an upgrade. Did not realIze it would be more like a time share presentation than anything else - started at 40,000 dollars and then because we said that was absolutely too much so many times, it came down to 31,000 dollars. For not an entire bathroom remodel but a shower and tub space remodel. The salesman did not want to take no for an answer and kept hassling us to give a good reason why not even though I kept saying it was too much money to just say yes to right now. Good thing, because talking with many friends and family, this was a ridiculous price. I guess unless you are a millionaire. The guy was also 45 mins late for the appointment, never apologized for that, and then stayed for at least 2 hours... and far too long after the first time I said no thank you after hearing the price. read more

Stay away from Carolina Home Remodeling. If I could give lower than one star then I would. We ran across them at the Southern Christmas Show in Charlotte this past November. We knew would wanted to have some work done to our master bath so we let them come out and give us a quote. The salesman was nice enough but the price was much more than we would have ever though the amount of work we were having done would cost. We decided to go through with it anyway, though. They said they would call to schedule an install time once the materials came in. The person we spoke to for scheduling said that it would take 2-3 days to complete the job, and that it wouldn't be a problem to begin the job on a Saturday and return on Monday to finish. In the event that they did not finish they would return that next Saturday and we would be done. Here is where everything goes wrong and shows how poor quality of a company you will be dealing with. One installer guy shows up on the first Saturday. He quickly cuts out and removes the old shower. But then he spends a long time on the phone. Come to find out that he didn't verify that all of the materials were correct before he removed the old shower. The shower pan has to be reordered because it is wrong. Then before leaving he asks if he can leave the materials that he did have with him in the garage. That is not unreasonable, but it is a bit unreasonable to leave said materials laying in the floor of the garage where there will obviously be a car parked again later. Luckily there was very little damage to the edges of a couple of pieces when they were ran over due to not being able to be seen while someone is pulling into the garage. He also left the old shower he cut out just laying out around the corner from the garage. Do they not clean up after themselves at the end of each day when on a job?? Also, we had to call and find out what was going on because that information was not passed along to us. The pan is reordered but will take several days to come in. We did take the opportunity to change the color of the shower walls during this time. We were already going to be without the shower for a week it seemed so why not just go ahead a take one more week to have something we thought would look better. We wait for the materials to come in and reschedule the install time. But now apparently there isn't anyone available to work on Saturday installs so we have to split it up over the course of two Mondays.....so we thought. A different install team (two people this time) show up last Monday to begin the install. They get the rough in work finished over the first day. We are at least glad that it appears we will have our shower back after the next Monday (today) after being without it for a month. But now we come to find out that they have to measure for the door glass to be cut after the walls of the shower are installed, and that it will take 7-10 business days for the door to come in. So it is going to be at least another two weeks before our shower will be completed after the job was started on Jan. 5. We were never told about the door needing to be ordered and that it would take so long to come in. We were only told 2-3 days installation time. They neglected to tell us there would be an almost two week pause in the middle of the job just for the door. We took a look at the wall material that was left in the garage after this fiasco started and it doesn't at all feel like the quality of material that we were shown during the quoting. We are supposed to be getting $1000 off the total cost of the job because of the way they have mishandled it, but that was before the whole door situation came up. I would never recommend this company to anyone for any work that needs to be done around their home. I feel they have poor management, lack of communication, and what I feel is misrepresentation about the quality of materials. Stay away from these people. read more

I don't trust people that can't be on time. After no less that 7 calls and texts to my number verifying my wife and I would be home (a requirement which I find ridiculous) they pushed out appointment until later and then asked us to reschedule. First I travel every week and my wife takes night classes. I drove 2 1/2 hours to be home and she skipped her class so we could BOTH be available for their 90 minute consult. If someone cannot have the courtesy to show up for an appointment especially when they put restrictions on us that we MUST both be home, and then they want us to jump through hoops to accommodate them, I do not want them touching my home. Usually when they require both people to be present, it is to prevent the let me talk to my wife or let me discuss with my husband. Much like the timeshare deals where you both must attend and then get the hard sell. Only company out of 4 I contacted that had this requirement. read more

I use them to do my siding and the product they have is great but the service is horrible I had nothing but issues with the installers and it took four different teams to get my siding right and I don't have a big house. Because of the quality of product and after talking to the managers I decided to give them another chance with doing my windows but yet again I'm having issues . They asked me when I wanted them installed I gave them a date I took off work now I'm out money and my windows aren't being installed because they're not in yet. I called and left messages nobody bother to call me back to let me know they hadn't come in this will be the last time I use them. read more

DON'T BOTHER TO USE. We received their name from BJ's Club to use for remodeling. We made an appointment, and traveled to the location. We purchase single family homes and renovate for property rental. After waiting 30 minutes at the property, we called to find out if they were gonna show up. No one was showing up, since they had car problems and no one called to reschedule or bothered to call. Evidently don't need clients nor do they care. The sales rep- Greg- did a great job explaining everything in detail and made me feel very comfortable. I didn't feel pressure at all like the other reviews are saying!
