This is the first time we used this company. We were very happy with our week in Maggie Valley. There were a couple of hiccups, but overall these were great accomodations. We never spend a great deal of time in the cabin anyway. We are always out and about exploring the area. This was a beautiful, well appointed cabin on a beautiful piece of property. I've heard so much, even seen pics, but it truly didn't capture what a quaint spot this is nestled in. Our units were in buildings 2 and 3, near one of the greens of the golf course, and across the little parking lot from Jonathan Creek. I started each morning reading a book and drinking coffee out on the porch, watching the sun come up. I was surprised at how early the maintenance guys started working on the golf course (6:45am one morning!). They should rethink that -- have them do the lawn care at the end of the day instead, since people come here to sleep in and relax. I was also surprised at how fast cars come through the "parking lot", which I discovered is also the access road to the houses up on the hills behind the condos. People were constantly having to be told to slow down with all of the kids (not just ours) in that area of the resort. There should be speed bumps along the creek drive, or warning signs of some sort. All if us REALLY enjoyed the creek, with both fishing and tubing down it (we got some sturdy ones for just $7 each at Walmart). Of our 7 days here, 2 of them were spent all day in the creek. Oh, and you can "borrow" fishing poles at the Valley Welcome Center about 1/2 mile toward town, and keep them for 3 days! We didn't catch anything, but I did see a local catch four fish one afternoon. The units are very homey, and I like how they supply all the dishes etc you need, as well as extra bedding for the pull out sleeper couch (two of our kids used it). The decor is a bit dated, but kept clean and it works. We also used the fireplace two nights for a s'more party with the kids, which they loved! Would def recommend staying here with your spouse alone or whole family! Centrally located where you can head to Franklin, Pigeon Forge, or any place else you'd like to go.

They present themselves as a full service packing, organizing and moving company.  We had a written agreement,  I paid in full. They packed very haphazardly. Items were broken or damaged while being unpacked. Furniture was broken and/or not assembled properly. They did not complete the unpacking in the first day, as promised, and never returned to complete the job. When presented with a list of the damages, they promised to resolve the issues, and never did.  Damaged items that were removed from my house to be repaired or replace have never been returned. Save yourself time, energy and money. They are not to be trusted.

He has been so helpful that although I'm looking in both TN and NC I am leaning towards NC only because of him! He immediately called me and hopped on his computer to look for more land in the area I was in. He truly goes above and beyond! Great places to rent for a vacation, but understand that you are fully responsible for any cleanup including but not limited to vacuuming, cleaning linens, and bringing your own trash to the local dump. Even if you do clean everything, make sure to take pictures because they are known to make false claims of improper cleaning.

Granted, I did not choose Patrick McDowell to be my real estate agent. My lawyer did. They attend…read morethe same church, and Mr. McDowell is probably on his best behavior when God is watching him. Mr. McDowell asked for the one key that we owned for the business that he was going to sell for us. We complied. However, we needed the key back to try to make a copy, as my stepmother was selling off business property without our permission. We would only need the key for half an hour at most. We needed a copy of the key in order to document what property had been stolen by my stepmother. (It turned out that we could not get a copy made locally, and that an official, extra one would cost us two hundred dollars.) When we would call Mr. McDowell, he would not return our calls. When we did get him on the phone he was short and not friendly. He would not give us the key. When we had to document with our lawyer on our not-yet-sold property exactly what items my stepmother had sold and thus stole from us, Mr. McDowell had to be there as well. He was polite, but did not not offer to open any doors that had to be opened with the key. We had to ask him. Every area had to be documented and witnessed. Having to ask Mr. McDowell to do so was demeaning, as his inaction can be interpreted as that he could care less. Mr. McDowell made fifty thousand dollars off of the sale of our business. He never talked to us, personally or in a business capacity. I suggest going with a different agent, one who treats people respectfully.
