We have been going to the mountains as a family for over twenty years. Over that time we have developed a great relationship with vacation rental companies, that we used over and over. This is the first time we used this company. We were very happy with our week in Maggie Valley. There were a couple of hiccups, but overall these were great accomodations. We never spend a great deal of time in the cabin anyway. We are always out and about exploring the area. This was a beautiful, well appointed cabin on a beautiful piece of property. We will definitely use this rental group again when we are in the Maggie Valley area. read more

This House is heavily marketed on numerous Websites (VRBO, AirBNB, Trip Advisor, Maggie Valley Mountain Vacations). The ads placed are deceptive and misleading and, as to some items, outright false. This was a total bust for our family and disappointing is an understatement. The Ad states: It is quite possibly the greatest rental cabin you will ever see. The furnishings are very elegant The kitchen has everything you would expect a top notch cabin to have. all the service wares you would ever need. The Master Suite is located on the main floor of the cabin, with a very comfortable king size bed with a down comforter, Also located downstairs is the game room, with a luxury pool table What we found was far from what was advertised. A home that sleeps eleven, how can any owner provide 4 glasses to its guests? There were 4 glasses/cups in the cupboard for tenant's use. We had to wash a glass each time we wanted to have a drink of water. 2 of the coffee cups were cracked and leaked hot coffee onto the counter and onto my lap while seated. The blender was from the 1970s, with a broken handle, and did not work well. Likewise, the mixer was something I would have found in my grandmother's house after she passed and donated to charity. The Ad said the kitchen would have everything a top notch cabin would have? Really? Small appliances that you picked up at a garage sale are top notch? Where was the food processor? The kitchen had no plastic scrapers, no spatulas, and 2 mixing bowls. The kitchen had 6 spoons. 6 spoons for a home that sleeps 11? The house had no baking sheets and second hand, outdated pots. Not even a large sauce or soup pot. Everything was mismatched. I remember leaving for college in 1982 and my grandparents gave me better items than were in this cabin, The living room was very charming with a wood fireplace. The couches were grimy and old and not comfortable. One couch actually has a burn hole measuring 10 x 10 at the bottom right of the loveseat where the burn melted through the cloth covering, into the foam support, to the base of the wood supports. Not what we expected from a house described "furnishings are very elegant". The furniture in the living room came out of Aunt Bessie's garage. The bedrooms are spacious. The beds are adequate. But could the owner have paid a few dollars more for comfortable bedding and linens rather than supply dollar store 200 thread count sheets? Each bed has one pillow per guest. 1 pillow? The other pillows were shams and no one should sleep on a decorative sham. And the pillows were flat and cheap. Nobody sleeps with one pillow. And when covered by a 200 thread count pillowcase, sleep does not come easy. The Ad mentions "Down Comforters". Not in this house. We had a flimsy, worn, thin Wal Mart mass produced quilt. I chose this house because it looked so appealing, inviting and comfortable and because it had a pool table. We wanted to watch NCAA March Madness, playing pool and enjoying family time. The house had 2 pool cues-both missing the felt tips. So basically shooting pool was pushing balls around with a broken pool stick with a flat plastic tip. It was a real let down. Also the TV in the game room did not work so it was impossible to watch NCAA basketball while playing pool. With everything else that was wrong with this house, the pool table and tv issue were the icing on the cake. I did not expect second hand cookware, inadequate cookware and broken cups and a lack of utensils. The owner of this house needs to spend some money to bring quality renters in and avoid these kinds of issues. We do not expect the Four Seasons, but we also don't expect old, useless, garage sale, consignment store home goods. This owner fell far from the mark and advertised a beautiful home that was filled with second hand, outdated and poor supplies and far from "everything you could want in a top notch rental". The owner of this house has not filled this house with top notch items. Far from it. We spent a week in a house with grimey furniture and antique appliances, no utensils, no cups and pots and pans from 3 different manufactures. The pots and pans were dented and cheap; even when they were new. Far from what we expected. You should go elsewhere for quality. This house is not as advertised. If you pay top dollar for a rental home, it should also come with top interior items. read more

I have rented a cabin through Maggie Mountain Vacations and though my trip is still a month away, I can't say enough good things about their customer service so far! I had a ton of questions prior to booking and a change needed after I did. Debra was exceptional in answering all of my questions, making me feel very comfortable in my choice, and being very patient with my multiple calls. She went above my expectations taking care of the issue I had, even though it was my error and not theirs and they did not have to do anything. Makes me feel even more confident in my choice! Beware renting. They nickel and dime everything to keep you deposit. We have rented for years and NEVER had a deposit held. They charged us for dumping the ashes over the deck which was already there. We took pictures when we got there because I had a feeling. Then they charged us for leaving the hose on, that we used to out the fire we had the night before. It couldn't have been on by much because we turned it off. But it must not have been all the way off. The dump was closed so we had to pay for them to take trash to dump which we knew ahead of time and they suggested that we take all the small bags and put in one large black bag which we did and left money for them to take to the dump and then they complained that it was too heavy. We have used this rental agency for several homes. Each time we had nice, clean and comfortable homes. The one we have rented several seasons now is A Smokey View. It is very nice and comfortable with a spectacular view.. Everyone we have dealt with have been very nice and helpful. In fact, they have gone out of their way to meet all of our needs. I rented a condo through this organization and was very disappointed in their service. For example, when I moved in, the carpet was filthy, and I asked for months that the carpet be cleaned. Finally, after I'd been there about 6 months, they had it cleaned but told me I'd have to pay to have it cleaned again when I left. The carpet was not dirtily when I left, yet I was still charged for cleaning. This is just one of the many times I had trouble getting things taken care of and/or fixed in this apt. (broken faucets, etc. took forever and repeated emails). Also, I left the keys in their office drop box when I left, and later received a letter stating I'd been charged $158.00 for breaking into apt. and changing locks because I didn't leave the keys! Obviously, someone in the office misplaced the keys, and I got charged for their incompetence. When I got home (after being out of town for several weeks) and found the letter regarding this, I complained, and was told it had been over 30 days, they didn't find the keys, and basically "tough".
