Party of 5 on a Saturday manis/pedis. We all got there around 4:30, late birthday celebration. There are a lot of manicurists there, surprisingly we did not have to wait. I know Jenny, Rasta, and May did our nails. Amazing! I can't remember the other girl's names. Everything was clean (they have plastic around the foot bath, so it gets changed) the seats had massagers on the bottom part too?!? Never had that before! But I also don't get my nails done often. Fun little ladies outing, will come back for sure. My only suggestion is to offer a better selection of complimentary wine :-) we had a very sweet wine, it's just a suggestion. read more

The older lady used a previously used pumice bar on me. Could tell bc it had caved in on the center and wasn't as rough as a fresh one. I don't believe a single pedicure tub or jet/filter is cleaned with any type of disinfectant. The tub had scrub in it before she wrapped the plastic around it which was my first sign of disgust. Buffer was previously used as well probably touched 100s of clients before me. I was grossed out the entire time and wish I had the audacity to have walked out. It's against most state boards to reuse files and not have separate sanitary packaged tools. Didn't see any barbicide anywhere or tools soaking. The nail bed scraper and cuticle clippers were just grabbed from a drawer and had rubber tops on them which is unsanitary. State board needs to really re evaluate your licenses if this is how you service people. read more

I had driven to several places people had recommended to go, due to being Good Friday a lot of places were closed or busy or didn't have someone that knew how to do full acrylic French tip nails I was looking for. I went into Carolina Nails and they were busy , but Jack asked me what I needed I told him. He said come back in 2 hours and he could do them for me. He was very nice so I decided I would come back. He delivered a beautiful set of full acrylic French tip nails for me! I have tried 12 different places since I have moved from San Diego and he was amazing! What I got, I will say the man who gave me the service was trying his best to attempt the deep french tip but I will assume he is new or something because they in the nicest way are just terrible nail shape was perfect now it's ruined they're clumpy and i had to keep asking him to fix things at a certain point i just gave up and accepted it for what it was but i will NEVER come here again, they also charged me $90 for this and it was a FILL, my sister got a pink french tip style here a few months back and it was done very nicely and was only $50 and that was for a full set. I'm not one to make a scene or argue so I just kept my mouth shut but I am now in tears and angry that these are the nails i'm going to have for my vacation and I paid $90 for. read more

This place was recommended to me by a friend after complaining of having bad luck in the Summerville area with nail salons. She referred me to Jack. I called, made an appointment and when I got there Jack sent me to someone else for gel polish. I went on a Monday, by Sunday the gel at the top of a few of my nails were lifting. I've been getting gel polish for about 6-7 years and after this being my 5th nail salon in the area, I gave up seriously. As much as I love my nails there is something not being done right to gel polish in this area. I've heard nail techs mentioning dehydrate the Nails from oils. Anyway I went Back and Jack did redo my polish so I'm waiting to see how this one turns out. If not good I think I'm done with Nails until I move again. read more

Best manicure I've gotten in a long time. The salon was very busy, it was the day before Christmas Eve and I was a walk-in. Miss Tina did an amazing job and was so fast. My nails are perfectly even and so thin they look like my natural nail despite having acrylic and gel polish. They turned out exactly like the picture I showed her. I went to Carolina Nails on Trolley Rd to have a pedicure. The older lady that did my pedicure was horrible. She did not wear gloves, and none of the instruments she used on my feet appeared to sterilized. I have never gone to a nail salon where they did not use instruments that were wrapped in a sterile envelope. She used a pumice stone on my feet that looked very used and even cut my foot because she was using so much force . When she had put the coat of nail polish on I told her it looked horrible because it was caked in the side of my toe. When she began using her own "ungloved bare finger nail" to scrape the polish out of the crease of my big toe, I stood up and walked out of the salon. I have never seen a more unsanitary nail salon ever. Where she cut my foot is red and sore and I pray it does not get infected . I would not go to this place ever again. I do not recommend any nail salon that has this much disregard for proper sanitation for their customers. read more

There is no consistency with this place. The first time I went I got a perfect American manicure. I was in and out quick and was more than pleased with both the price and my result. The second time was awful. The young girl who did my manicure was rather unprofessional. She answered her cell phone and she disappeared in the back for ages. She filed my nails incorrectly, my natural nails by the way. I have never had this many coats of gel polish put on my nails in the years I've been getting them done! It took over two hours for a gel manicure. That's not including the wait time! I will say she had a soft hand so that was a plus but it took so long my hands began to cramp. I was also charged way more the second time with the less complicated service! Apparently you need to ask for a select person there. I believe the gentleman who did my nails the first time was named Chau. He was a gem. It seems you need to avoid the young girls for anything other than a pedicure. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. I recently moved to the area and was in search of a new nail salon. I read previous reviews and decided I would give this location a try, BIG MISTAKE!!! When I came through the door I was greeted with unwelcome stares from the employees, all before asking were they able to accommodate me for a pedicure and nail soak-off..Their reply was yes and the young lady started prepping the chair. I was seated and asked to choose my color. All of this happened at 10:50am. By 11:15am the water that the young lady had initially ran was ice cold, and no one had come to talk to me about the wait, my color choice,setting up my nails for pre soaking or even a simple Hi or Hello!! I was invisible!! In-between time at about 11:05.. 3 people walked in I'm assuming 2 of them had appointments. They were sat, greeted and immediately started on( This is NOT the problem) the problem is no one disclosed any information as to a wait behind appointments until I decided to walk out the door!! Each technician either got up and went to the back or worked on another person who walked in! I was completely discriminated against, even handed me a dirty towel to wipe My feet with once I decided to leave! NEVER AGAIN!! read more

Small nail store in the shopping center on Old Trolley next to Dog n Duck. Nice, clean, well lit. One half of the 'salon' has work stations for pedi's and the other half for mani's. TV to watch while you get your nails done, pretty up to date and good selection of magazines to read. The massage chairs you sit in when you get a pedi are hands down some of the MOST comfy I have been in, in a while. First time I was here (a few years ago) the guy about scrubbed the soles of my feet off. I swore to never come back, but time and a pending trip out of town had me desperate for a place close to home I could swing through, so thought I would give it a second try. Appointments can be made there, and on their more busy days probably a good idea, but they also take walk ins. Went in and was asked to sign in and find a nail color. I looked around a bit. The selection of colors isnt the most wide spread I have seen in a nail salon (maybe 2 racks? - most nail salons have at least 4-5 racks of colors to choose from). And not all brand name polishes either. Which made me a little iffy on how this experience was going to go. (Im a polish snob, but Ive found that the quality of the polish does help it last longer). Picked a color and let the nail tech (Kim) know that I also wanted the paraffin wax dip with the pedi. I soaked my footsies in the awesome warm water for a bit, and turned the little massage chair on. Flipped through the magazines there. Kim was very nice, asked me how my day was going, making small talk and chit chat, but made sure when I closed my eyes to relax he let me just enjoy the pedi experience. Was the typical good pedi - soak, scrub bottoms of feet, take off old polish, soak, massage legs, cut cuticles and nails, soak, paraffin wax dip (its worth the extra $5 for this btw - if you can get it!!). Color applied and then top coat. The only thing I thought was odd is that he didnt push back the nail cuticles. I didnt think to ask because I was so relaxed, but he has definitely changed my opinion of the place and when I go back I will ask for him specifically and to push the cuticles back. All in all - it took maybe 30-45 mins? Kim was very thorough and my toes look adorable and my feet are SUPER soft. LOVE IT!! read more

Tina is amazing !!!! She is fast and very efficient . If something doesn't look right she will redo it without you even asking her. Perfection is key with her. I love going to her. I loved my nails and unlike Nail Pro on Bacons Bridge my cuticles are not bloody and stinging. Very friendly staff, cozy, clean atmosphere. I definitely recommend them and will be going back.
