I discovered Dr. Hennenhoefer upon recommendation from a colleague who had experienced chronic joint, connective tissue, and musculoskeletal pain, to go see an osteopathic muscular medicine expert. I hadn't heard of this sector of medicine before but as I read the description online, it sounded like exactly what I needed help with. His office makes it easy to make appointments - I was able to find an opening the same day (!!!) available to new patients (!!) that could do a diagnostic plus treatment intervention - all on the same day, which never happens within large healthcare systems, even with urgent care available. That day, I made the appointment, went in, and honestly within 24 hours my pain level went from a 9 out of 10 to a 7 out of 10 and within 3 days, I was down to a 4 or 5 out of 10! Honestly, he's a miracle worker. He has a deep understanding of how one area of the body can travel to another area and where to put pressure and release to feel relief across the system. He provided more in depth explanation of what was going on (with visuals!), why I was experiencing the issue, and exactly what to do and not to do (some of which was different or more nuanced than the typical advice given online or by physical therapists and orthopedics, like why I shouldn't heat the area for too long, and a better way to stretch and with less intensity and time). This was after ONE visit and I can't wait to return to continue the treatment plan.
