Dr Wheeless spent a great deal of time with me explaining how and why I wasn't healing and reccomended several ways to get better. I'm happy to say that after 3 months of treatment, my arm is 90% and I'm out doing all the things I could do before my injury.

She missed about 2 weeks of school and rested during spring break. She was able to return to color guard for band camp in July and has not had to take any more pain medication for her back since her surgery. I really liked the doctor, which I'm not going to Name, very knowledgeable and great personality. Where things went wrong, went in for a C7 injection to treat a bulging disc, procedure seem to go normally, however, within 24 hours, I was dealing with a Dural puncture. Horrendous headache, dizziness, ears, muffled, all which were worse when sitting or standing. I understand there are risks associated with this type of procedure; however,, when I received a phone call from WAKE spine and told them of my symptoms, they were telling me that I must have a sinus infection. This was a nurse practitioner who had just reviewed my symptoms with the doctor on call and this is what they came up with. The fact that they had no idea that classic symptoms of a CSF leak is muffled ears or ringing in the ears, excruciating positional headache, dizziness, nausea, etc baffles me! I'm now on day six and feel like I am healing finally, but I could not with a good conscience recommend this clinic.

I was treated with compassion and respect and his standard of care is state-of-the-art. His PA, Ashton, always returns calls within 24 hours (usually the same day) and is wonderful to deal with. Every test and procedure has been clearly and thoroughly explained and the financial assistant obtained the necessary quotes for out-of-pocket and insurance expenses. There were no unexpected, unpleasant surprises. . I highly recommend Dr. Engler and this practice to other spinal injury and chronic pain patients.

I spent thousands of dollars on recommended tests and they could not find anything "wrong" so I was treated like I was just making things up. They implied that I was just going there to try and get opioids, which I never asked for or even wanted.On my last visit, I had less than 5 minutes with the doctor, and he basically told me there's nothing anyone can do, and gave me a paper recommending me to watch a documentary about losing weight and said that might motivate me to be healthier. He acted like if I lost weight it would fix all my problems. I asked him why he was telling me this, as I was a normal weight when I started having extreme pain, and not being able to move around caused me to gain weight. He basically told me to just try it because he didn't have any other suggestions. I felt very blown off, and even if he couldn't help me, he could have said it in a much better way and without implying losing weight would fix all my issues. Once I went to a different practice, they did find out what was wrong with me and give me a treatment plan that actually helped. I felt extremely disrespected and blown off by this practice and would not recommend it to anyone.
