Dr. Tran and his staff were very helpful, kind, and patient while I was being treated for vericose veins.

My dad went in after a cardiac arrest on the tennis court where his tennis partner perform CPR on him until the paramedics arrived where they kept him stable until he arrived at Unc Rex and that's where my dad recovered after dying on the tennis court! Dr.Shaw did everything he could make me and my family feel confident that my dad would come out of it and he did! They have some type of core body temperature machine they used on my dad and the doctor said he has seen it work miracles and it did!!! My dad was out of his coma and off life-support within three days and back home in under two weeks. My first two visits were diagnostic and then to wait for insurance approval. I received a letter that the proposed treatment was approved and yet I heard nothing from REX Vascular. I called three days and left voicemails and Jaime finally called me back. They are stretching my appointments out over 6 visits at $50 a copay. I asked and Dr. Wasan to do both legs in one visit and luckily it was possible. So don't be afraid to ask. It now seems possible I will only Need 2 to 3 visits. Probably all medical providers need to come with a warning to watch out for yourself. You gotta love the sign telling you there is a $25 charge for them to complete forms for FMLA, Disability, Life Insurance, and Nursing Home Admission. How sweet during some of the most stressful times in a person's life. Like I said it gives the impression that the patient is not the priority--it's money. If you are late--they cancel your appointment. If they are late, you sit in the waiting room Yelping. My actual procedure was noneventful not painful and I was surprisingly comfortable during the short time I spent there. I would recommend my doctor to others. My actual procedure was pleasant. I was comfortable, I am confident in the doctor and nurse and it was relatively short in duration. I would recommend my doctor to others.

They also work at very reasonable cash prices, an important consideration because your insurance will probably deny the claim. So why only three stars? Well, I made the mistake of opening my mouth. You see, I'm not a novice. I have a medical background and I've also had a lot of vein work done before on my other leg. Having experienced some difficulties I wished to avoid this time, I dared to express my desire for certain treatments (phlebectomy vs sclero) and which veins I wanted prioritized. Oh dear. All of Lindy's bluff friendliness soon fell away and I became, quote, "One of those patients who tells us how to do our job." As if it isn't my leg or my money! Dr. Lindy wouldn't let it go either, bringing it up every visit. It was irritating but I saw it through, too lazy to start with someone else who'd cost more. I would recommend the place - on one condition. Whatever you do keep your mouth shut and play along. Remember, doctor knows best!
