Pam stopped us to let us know about another kitten who had just become available that day. We waited for the adoption room to become available and for the staff to bring him in. They told us he was super playful and sweet, but not much of a cuddler. As soon as we held him, he settled right in and just purred away! We knew right away he was the one! The staff were so kind in helping us find him and get the paperwork done. He's made himself at home and while he loves to cuddle, he super playful and frisky!

We are an elderly couple and reside in an over 55 community, so we did not want a dog that was too energetic. She is a sweet dog, and we love her and are trying our best to work with her. That is the good part. Hint: We found a vet who agreed to work with us/her. The vet prescribed Prozac for anxiety. NOW! This SPCA seems to be a sloppy organization. 1. When we got there, a staff member pointed to a door and said that we could go there and see the animals. We didn't need a lot of directions, but we had to find the dogs on our own by following our own noses. 2. We had to wait a long time to meet the dog. 3. The answer to every question about the dog was, "I don't know." 4. The paperwork we received about the dog described her as 2 years old and gray. Her age on the cage was 7 and she IS brown. When the inaccuracy of the paperwork was brought to their attention, the answer was "that's ok". 5. We were ignorant and just accepted the mixed breed description. Mixed breed, perhaps but many people have stated that she looks like a pit. This has caused us a lot of grief in our over 55 community. 6. We were told her bad points are she doesn't like her butt touched & is afraid of syringes. Truth: Although she is a sweetheart to us and other people, she will not tolerate any vet. 7. She was so dirty when we got her that before going home, we had to take her immediately to PetSmart for a bath. 8. PetSmart could not bathe her with the neck collar from the shelter on and it was so tight that they were unable to get it off. The collar was so tight that my husband had to cut it off. Poor dog. How could any shelter allow a collar to be that tight?! This shelter should be investigated regarding truth in advertising and animal care.

The staff was so helpful and accommodating -- they worked around my schedule and made everything feel smooth and stress-free. What really stood out to me was the follow-up. They checked in to make sure the adjustment was going well, which meant so much. You can tell they truly care about the animals and the families they're placing them with. We had a family meeting and decided that we probably needed to hold off on the cat. We called her well before the week timeline and she never responded. We contacted her several times and she never got back to us. We had to go through the bank to get the money back because she never refunded the money as was agreed-upon. They were curbside only but they were so compassionate and great about having it ready for me each time. The details are a little hazy but I do remember a particular employee going the extra mile for me one time to straighten out my order and get me the paste that my cat needed. Today I was there for the litterbox pellets that my bunny uses, Yesterday's and I was reminded of what great customer service - with a smile - and extension of care this place provides.
