As far as I can tell she makes 2 sizes: Huge & Delicious; Normal & delicious. I fell in love with the huge ones and found the small ones to be more reasonable but harder to find in the market. Turns out Carol is one of my sister's friend's aunt. After my sister and her friend visited the illustrious cookie maker, she sent some home with them. Edited*: I really wanted to like these cookies. I received a tin as a gift and was thrilled to learn that these are made with high quality and fresh ingredients. Regrettably, I did not care for them. I ate part of a cookie from the tin within an hour of receiving the package. It wasn't very flavorful to me and still tasted a bit raw in the center. I microwaved it for a bit and tasted it again. It intensified the raw cookie dough flavor and it wasn't appealing for me. That being said, I know that a lot of people really enjoy these cookies and recognize that it is difficult to please all palates, especially considering that we all have our own cookie bias. I have several friends who love the "cookie dough" flavor in a cookie, but it was not for me. Start off by saying I personally love the texture of a "half baked cookie" (think,cookie dough),yummy! Others may find it too doughy too rich, too buttery...I'd disagree. Oh dear God. These cookies are orgasmic. I just discovered Carol's Cookies this past week at the Local Flavors fair at the Whole Foods in Evanston, and I had a taste-gasm...TWICE! Got multiple samples of the chocolate chunk. Then have returned several times to sample the Toffee Crunch which had Vosges Chocolate (another local Chicago favorite) and the Oatmeal Chocolate Cherry, which had huge chunks of chocolate and whole cherries. These cookies are almost as big as your hand and they are so full of real ingredients that they weight half a pound. I do not waste my sweets quotas on unworthy treats but I can eat one for lunch! Best of all, they are locally owned by a woman(Carol!) and produced in Highland Park. That's why I get them as gifts all the time, and have them ship directly to my recipients. Every holiday season one of our business partners would send us a huge tin of Carol's Cookies and it was the highlight of the season. This year I doubt anyone is going to send me Carol's Cookies. Damnit! These are the most delicious things ever. Huge, moist, full of yumminess-we've tried the variety tin and each one was pretty darn amazing. They are so big that you can easily share-if you are a willing to give up a bite of perfection. Yes, they are probably deadly for you but it's a cookie. ( A deadly cookie according to a review I just saw on the other side of the screen! Holy crap that's a lot of carbs for one cookie!) I've just discovered Carol's Cookies. They are the BEST!!! What I find disappointing is that since I live in California is that the ordering options on the website are very limited and overpriced from what I can find locally. I wanted to order directly from Carol's- and order one or two particular kinds of cookies. But to get a dozen the only option is "assortment". While I am sure each one is delicious, it is not what the customer wants.... And they are about 50 cents more per cookie before shipping costs, usually one can find items cost less from the manufacturer's website. So, disappointing even though I love the cookies. read more

I've ordered Carol's Cookies twice. The first was with a coupon deal I found on Gilt--I sent them to my sister, who raved about them--she still talks about how great they were. I had to send a gift to some friends and figured that, since the cookies had gone over so well with my sister, I'd order from Carol's again. I signed up for Yelp just to share the excellent customer service experience I had. I made a mistake with the address I'd entered for one of my friends. Not only did someone from Carol's call me promptly (so that the cookies could still be shipped out that day) and leave a voicemail to ask me to clarify, but when I called back, she told me that, since calling me, she had looked up my friend's apartment building online, called the leasing office or something, and corrected the address herself! I'm still stunned by how kind she was--it was my mistake, and she wasn't obligated to do any of that! Oh, and my friends report that the cookies are delicious. I ordered the cookie tin off of the website. Carol's Cookies website is a little primitive when it came to ordering. It didn't have the ease that I expected from most online retailers. My blood sugar was dropping like a rock at the Whole Foods in Deerfield and I came across this heavenly hockey puck of pleasure-it was a sugar cookie the size of a cow pie and utterly orgasmic, hard and crunchy outside, soft and buttery inside. I cannot say enough about these without having multiple orgasms. We received a tin of these at my office from one of the doctors whose claims we pay and the Greek Goddess (a stupid shrew who irritates the shit out of me) THREW HERS AWAY because it was too hard!!!!!!!!! I looked at her in horror and nearly raced to her garbage can to retrieve it but of course I couldn't because that would be simply pathetic. Wow, these cookies are awesome. They sell them at the gift shop at Northwestern University Medical Center. What a strange place to find your favorite cookie, isnt it? For a while there I had two family members going through treatments at the hospital. My visits to the gift shop for Carol's Cookies made an unhappy situation a bit sweeter! These cookies are just wrong and I mean that in a good way. They are GIANT cookies that are like someone took everything right about your Grandmother's old school cookie recipe and turned it up to 11. They are an absolute hit to the senses in a way that will make you happy that the nutrition information isn't listed on the individual packages. The ingredients are very good - maybe not ultra high-end, but this isn't about a tiny cookie with small batch chocolate from one particular farm. People love these because they boil down absolutely everything that people love about the old school cookies that mom/grandma used to make and present it in the form of cookies the size of hockey pucks. You know, a thought - and I know Carol apparently reads these reviews: smaller cookies and an assortment in traditional packaging. I know everyone loves the giant individually packaged cookies and that could ab-so-lutely still be the main option, but would love to be able to buy a pack on the supermarket shelf and have a taste here and there of the various flavors. The only other cookie that really is in a similar ballpark for me are Matt's (also local) and that's saying a lot, as those were certainly an element of my childhood. Lastly, one element that people like about going to Doubletree Hotels are the Doubletree Cookies at check-in. Doubletree cookies are very good, but they're nothing like these. Would love to see these at check-in at hotels, as they'd make people quickly forget about the famed Doubletree cookie. Maybe they could be a cookie at a suite chain (Residence Inn, Embassy Suites. etc.) I can see the ads: "Big Rooms. Big Value. Now... Big Cookies." read more

I got one from the xmas gift my company receives. I got 1/2 a pc. I thought this cookie looks & tastes pretty good, but the thick center is not my type. It seems like eating raw moist cookie dough. I do know this definitely has lots of sugar, so I try to find out from Caro's Cookies' website. Guess what, you have to call their customer service to find out nutritional info, and their tin can has nothing whatsoever regarding the nutriitional info. This site is very helpful.
