This was the first time that we went to Carolyns after living in the KC area for four years. It by far was the best one of all the others. There is so much to do and see you really need to make sure you have a half day of time to really enjoy it. From the tractor ride out to the pumpkin patch, to all the fun activities that kids of all ages can enjoy. They have a small train for the little kids, a wide variety of animals like donkeys, goats, cows, pigs, rabbits and so on. You can purchase food to feed any of them! They have plenty of big slides, jumping bouncers and things to climb on. Then there is the shopping. You can find pumpkins of all shapes and colors, gourds and so much more. I do have to say I wasn't impressed by the food so you may want to eat before you go. But make sure you do get the pumpkin donuts! Now those are impressive! Went here with a friend (we're both in our 20s), and this is DEFINITELY a family place for people with small children. But we did still have fun! Lots of animals to see, and they're very friendly. You can take a free trailer to the pumpkin patch fields to pick a pumpkin (ranges between $3-$18 depending on size), or pick one up near the exit. There's also some jungle gyms and games to mess around with. We also went on the carousel, but one of the men working there was kind of rude to us since we're older than his anticipated customers... there's no age limit to anything here, but keep in mind the workers might give you some dirty looks if you're here without a kid. They also have some REALLY good pumpkin cheesecake, and fun photo places. We spent about 4 hours just hanging out here. read more

My wife and I have been coming here every year since our little one was born and Carolyn's has quickly become an autumn tradition. First off this place is huge! I know for a fact that we still have not seen everything this place has to offer and we've been coming for years! One of our favorite parts is the Pumpkin Donuts! We usually order a half dozen but end up leaving with none. We never learn our lesson, we need a dozen minimum because once I start eating them I can never stop they are soooo gooood!!! My sons favorite part is the goats and animals that he can see up close and feed out of his bare hand. There is also plenty of space for him to run around and play, including slides, playgrounds, tunnels, giant moon bouncers, and much more! The cider slushie is perfect for a warm day and really makes you feel like fall. If it's a bit colder they also have hot coco. There are some concession stands that offer a small fare of burgers, hotdogs, popcorn, and baked goods, with plenty of covered seating outdoors. So you can make a whole day of it. And let's not forget the most important thing... Pumpkins! Tons and Tons of Pumpkins! First time here. We've been to Faulkner's Ranch and Fun Farm in Kearney and loved bo. Carolyn's was the most expensive and nothing but junk. Looks like a redneck backyard. Nothing to do for anybody older than age 6 and filthy. I can't stress enough to choose somewhere else to spend your money. read more

We seriously had the best time at Carolyn's! My mother in law, my almost two year old, and myself took a Friday off to go here when it would be less busy. I honestly had been avoiding this place because I thought it was too pricy. However, after visiting.... it's well worth the cost! We spent four hours here and didn't even get to half of the attractions! We had to leave for nap time otherwise we would have stayed! We found a Groupon to Carolyn's a couple years ago, and had such a great experience that we just keep coming back again and again each year due to just how incredible this pumpkin patch is! There's the obligatory tractor ride into the patch, petting "zoo" and souvenir shop, but Carolyn's has sooooooo much more. I feel that you get, by far, the best bang-for-your-buck up here compared to other patches, and we drive FAR out of our way just to hit it each year. This year had even more than last! There are tons of things to do that are included in the price of admission, which is important to me. Yes, there are fall-themed concessions (cider beverages of all sorts {go for the slush!}, pumpkin donuts, kettle corn, etc.) and train rides you can take that cost another couple bucks, but that's about the same as anywhere. However, you don't have to spend another dime to have a load of fun! There's slides of all sizes, pedal tractors that go around a cute track that borders a large crop field, a very large "fort" for kids to go inside and run around, a large bounce-pad, a spider web play area, wooden horses with hula-hoops for steer-roping practice, a hay bale maze, a corn-stalk maze, an artifact dig, other stationary play equipment and, last but not least, pig races. That last one is a production of a show put on by a lovely, humorous farmer who asks for loads of audience participation. That's not to even mention all the cute photo ops that exist around the farm that make for excellent Christmas card/calendar fodder. Long as the parents have the legs for it, you could easily spend all afternoon here for the price of entry. And, for those of you complaining about price and/or nickle-and-diming: don't. Worlds/Oceans of Fun, Schlitterbahn, KC Zoo, Science City and any others are as expensive, or waaay more, and do the same thing with added cost once you enter. Take a couple extra bucks, suck on the best pumpkin donut in KC and some cider slush, and get over it. This place is great and it's one day a year! read more

(being that the Cornmaze is 100 yards from here,and has a different admission entrances). Don't go here....Buy your pumpkins somewhere else. Cause I used to buy pumpkins here. They are stuck up, money hungry, and protective of what they have. You pay for an admission, and then you pay for the train to ride it around the park. The hey ride is free. The pumpkins are prepicked, in the pumpkin patch, laying on the ground. I understand, DROUGHT. But nothing is mentioned of this. Hell, I can go to Louisburg and have more fun, than here. For food after the Cornmaze, I can go down to Liberty. That said, I just feel that this is an outrageous price to pay for general entry to what is essentially a playground/park with an attached pumpkin patch. The activities that **are** above and beyond what you would see in a typical park (pumpkins, train, merry-go-round) cost additional. For my $12 I get to get into what is basically a playground. We visited yesterday and were extremely disappointed! There were 6 of us and it was 149.48! However several of the "attractions" were broken, or missing items to make them work. We had so much fun! I have an 8 month old daughter and a 2 1/2 year old son. There was enough to keep my son busy without overwhelming my daughter. We went on a Wednesday afternoon 2 weeks before Halloween and it was not crowded at all! For starters, kids under 3 are free. For $11 per person over, you get access to all of the playgrounds, the petting zoo, carousel, bouncy pad, mini train, mini maze, and pumpkin patch! Very comparable prices to the patch we went to last year that had much less attractions. The petting zoo was great! Very comparable with Deanna Roses feeding section and extra bags of food can be purchased. Both of my kids (and my husband and I) loved feeding the goats and other animals. The bouncy pad felt safer than some that we've seen before. They did have an employee stationed by it, however he paid little to no attention to those enjoying. The mini train was a longer ride than we expected. It did a full circle around the main play area, and the ride starts by a cute little store that sells wine and fudge. The serve wine slushees too, but unfortunately those are only weekend indulgences. Also just a heads up that was by far the fastest carousel I've ever been on. And unfortunately there were no seatbelts for kiddos or anything. They have a pumpkin launcher on the weekends too but we missed that considering we went on a Wednesday. There was so much to do - we spent 2 1/2 hours and could have easily stayed longer had my kids not been getting sleepy. We loved the place. However, entry was a bit overpriced (25 dollars for two of us on a weekday) and half of the stuff wasn't open because it was a weekday. It was chilly and the smaller pigs were all cuddled up and physically shaking so bad. It really put a damper on our mood because we felt so horrible for them. I'm liking this place less each year. Sure, it is a chance for all my kids to be in the same place at the same time and that's pretty awesome. I remember though the beginning years when I didn't have to pay $10 a person to spend more money on pumpkins. I could do without the kitschy kountry shtick and go back to the basics when you got on a tractor, picked your pumpkins and went home. I didn't ask for a theme park. And if we must be honest, at 1/4 the cost of World's of Fun, it hardly offers a fraction of the fun. How about two entrances? One for just the pumpkin field and another for the shtick? Stay away!! My first bad impression was at the door when there was no price reduction for children. If they're two or older they pay the full $10.00 admission price. It was $30 for us to take our three year old grandaughter. Once inside they dollar you to death! $3.00 per person for a very short train ride, $6.00 to fossil dig, $5.00 for panning for jewels. The pre-picked pumpkins were at least $10.00. (Should have come free with the admission price, in my opinion!) The food located in the "cafe" area was very mediocre and very expensive. The staff behind the counter was extremely unfriendly. The room was huge but offered only a small seating area; (two booths that held two people) forcing us to balance our food while standing. They do not even provide straws for their cider slush; pretty hard to drink a slush without a straw. BUT, and this is a big issue with me-the worst part was the fact that they do not provide any bathrooms--porta potty for a three year old? I don't think so! Seriously, what three year old is not going to have to go to the bathroom? And, this is supposed to be a kid friendly place? Go to Deanna Rose Farm instead! A very disappointing experience. First of all, this place is terribly over-priced! $12/person for entrance. Pumpkins were over-priced. Bottled water is $3 a bottle. I ordered a peanut butter & jelly sandwich for $3 and received two slices of bread and a packet of peanut butter and a packet of grape jelly. Do not come here hungry. The bathrooms are porta-potties with nowhere to wash your hands afterwards. Animals were caged up so there wasn't much interaction with the animals. Most of the "free" activities consisted of playgrounds, tires in the ground, and sheds/play houses. (We could have went to a park for free). Train ride, hay ride, corn maze are all extra $$. My family was very disappointed with this experience compared to other past experiences at other pumpkin patch farms. The only positive thing I have to say about this place is that the pumpkin donuts were tasty, but still pricey at $10/dozen. Do your family a favor and save some money, go somewhere else. read more

Deliberately deceitful signage. We didn't even want to go to Carolyn's Country Cousins, we were looking for the Liberty Corn Maze. However, there was a employee in the middle of the road, directing traffic into the parking lot right in front of the Carolyn's patch. From the lot, you can SEE the "bridges" at the Liberty Corn Maze, so it looks like all the same thing. So, you walk up and look for the closest way in. We're talking among ourselves and not paying attention like a liability attorney would. We get it line and walk in and pay. There are very large, some hand-written, "NO REFUND" signs very noticeably placed. As soon as the credit card machine completes the transaction ($36.00 for two adults and one 13 year old), I look up and see a small estimated 6" x 12" sign that says "liberty corn maze is a separate business" overhead by the exit door going from the entrance shack into the business. I thought "well that's strange, is that for liability or insurance purposes or what? Then I started looking around, and see all the kids stuff and I realize we may just have paid for the wrong place. So, my wife goes back to the cashier, and is told yep we screwed you, you are just getting in the kids pumpkin patch and the Liberty Corn Maze is 100 yards further west. And, obviously, "NO REFUNDS" as this fact was marked aggressively with large, obnoxious, and repeated signage. But, there were NO signs saying "THIS IS NOT THE LIBERTY CORN MAZE". So, we decide to make the best of it. There were no activities for a 13 year old, most are for smaller kids. So we rode out to the field and picked up some pumpkins (which cost an additional $50.00 on the way out) and we tried some of the pumpkin doughnuts, which were good. So we spent about $100.00 and we DID NOT EVEN WANT TO GO HERE. But, "no refunds!" On the way out, I walked over and looked at the entrance signage again. There was NO mention that this is NOT the Liberty Corn Maze. The best they had was a list of the "included activities" and the corn maze was NOT on there, so you are supposed to be able read that long list and notice the omission, I guess. Then there also was the small sign previously mentioned, AFTER you pass the cash registers. If you wanted to go to this business, I think it would be fine for small kids. I am giving it one star because in my opinion, they are being calculated and deliberate in misguiding people who are looking for the Liberty Corn Maze. I would point to; 1) the employee in the road directing traffic, 2) the missing information on the signage, 3) the cryptic, incomplete and inadequate signage, 4) the placement of the signage AFTER you already paid, 5) the aggressive and prominently displayed "no refund" policy. Plan for a full afternoon...there's so much to see, do, and eat! An authentic fall experience in the country, just minutes from the city. The petting zoo is great. Sooo many animals! If you're lucky, one of the farmhands might give you a pen by pen tour of the animals. A bag of pet food comes with your admission ticket, so you can pet AND feed the animals. Like pumpkin flavored fare? You name it, they've got it...pumpkin donuts, pumpkin slushees, pumpkin bread, pumpkin muffins. Exit through the gift shop and pick up fun gifts. First trip & I have to say what a great place for kids of all ages. Beautiful landscape & you truly get into the real Halloween spirit once you visit a place as such. My only complaint would be the prices. You pay $10 to get in, our son was free b/c he was under the age of 2... but then once you're in the door, all the other activities like riding the train, hay rides, etc COST.... so expect to spend a little bit of $, or a lot of money I should say if you are to get hungry or thirsty. The setting, landscape, and all the neat spots you could stop & take a picture was my favorite part. Another favorite was the musical garden for toddlers. Our son LOVED it & my Mom is thinking of putting one at her home for the grand kids now. The petting zoo was fun & my son adored being able to feed the goats even at his age. We stood in line for 20 min or so waiting on pumpkin donuts.. WELL WORTH THE WAIT! DELICIOUS! I recommend to anybody going. I believe it will be our tradition every year with our little man. Very disappointed. We took my 11-month-old grandson in his stroller for his first pumpkin patch visit this past Monday and it started raining fifteen minutes after we walked in. Since it's not ideal to push a baby around in the mud and rain, we went to the entrance and asked if we could have a rain check, with my receipt in hand showing we had paid $24 sixteen minutes earlier. The woman at the entrance called her supervisor and informed her that we were requesting a rain check, and the supervisor very rudely replied, "Tell them we don't have a rain policy. We're open - they can wait it out." I asked to speak to the supervisor (Giselle) myself, as I wanted to explain that an 11-month-old is not really going to be wanting to wait it out for however long the rain might last - and that we weren't requesting a refund, simply a rain check to come back another time when the weather was better. I was informed that Giselle was "very busy" and couldn't come talk to me, but that we could wait in the barn or go wait in our car for the rain to stop. I was frustrated, as my receipt clearly showed we had paid literally only fifteen minutes earlier and it was clear that the management couldn't have cared less. We went to the barn to wait out the rain, and happened to see Giselle sitting at her desk in the corner office in the barn, with her feet propped up on the desk chatting with a co-worker. Yes, she was very busy. Needless to say, we won't be returning to Carolyn's Country Cousins Pumpkin Patch, and we'll also be letting friends and anyone else know of our experience. Not to mention that the pumpkins are wayyyy overpriced. It made me sad to see that they truly only care about the money. Another reason we won't be returning...the animals were kept in extremely cramped conditions; particularly one goat that had a sign in front of it stating that she was elderly and had joint problems and was on medication - yet she was kept in a small pen on concrete, with no hay at all, nor any soft ground to stand or lay down on. read more

Way over priced! Once you pay $10 to get in everything inside cost $. I suspect the good reviews on here are employees or the owner himself (notice their small record of reviews). Owner actually has two LLC's one for the corn maze and one for the pumpkin patch so make sure you are going in the one you want. There is a firm no refund. The pumpkin patch and corn maze are NEXT to each other and separated by a small fence but the owner wants you to get back in your car and drive 50 ft and re-park. If you cross the fence someone instructs you to use their parking lot. Then pay another $10 to get in to the corn maze. What kind of customer experience is that? THIS PLACE OWES ME MY MONEY BACK. $40 (admission x4) + $12 (train ride). If you read this far save yourself time and money and go to a pumpkin patch that deserves your business. read more

The prices for food and drink were pretty expensive. $4 for chili, $4 for nachos, $3 bottle water, $3 soda. The "hayride" is very dirty and dusty and drops you off in the middle of a corn field-YES A CORN FIELD. We thought we were going and would be able to pick pumpkins right off the vine but this is not the case. It looks like they dumped a truck load of pumpkins in the middle of a corn field. My daughter's school went on a field trip here yesterday and I had the pleasure of being a chaperon. We had a great time and the kiddos enjoyed picking their very own pumpkin and playing on the big playground they had there.
