I can't type out too much about Liberty Corn maze but it was an amazing date night here. I would say that I'd recommend telling customer while they pay if it's going to be MUDDY MUDDY in the fields as I did ruin a nice pair of chucks. Materials can be replaced though so not a biggie. I also would recommend if you come to bring your own flashlight as the product markups here are craazy. I get it, though. Fun for friends, family, or date night!

This is the first time, in my memory, that I've attended the corn maze. I had Sara D., The Other R, and his girlfriend with me, and coupons galore. Coupons knocked the entrance fee down by $2.00. I parked in the Pumpkin Patch parking, not realizing there were 2 entrances. I'll provide this warning: The friggin' Pumpkin Patach, where the cafe with grilled hamburgers and cider slushes, also costs $10.00 entrance. I can't make any new comments that haven't already been provided by other reviewers, Get coupons, don't expect decent concessions, cider slushes, modernized bathrooms, or any help from the staff whatsoever on eating lunch or where to go (Not mazewise). Do expect atleast an hour to 2 hours, walking, getting lost, and getting sideswiped by unruly corn that comes out of nowhere. Do expect to actually see young moms dressed as pirates, wearing boots with uncomfortable heels, carrying a baby also dressed as a pirate, meandering through the corn maze. It is a type of weird fun. We had it easy, we were behind a group, who hollered out each check in number. (Thankyou very much). The map they give you at the front is more than difficult to read. We went through one of the trails, got side tracked, ended up in another trail. My only complaint is, the bridges are sketchy. Seriously....I hope my $8.00 goes to bridge repair. I found lot's of loose boards. Also, the fact that there isn't one admission. For God's sake, you can't get into the Pumpkin Patch, after spending all that time in the corn maze, starving, without either bribing cause you are hungry, and promise your life away that you'll only eat and that is it...or paying the price of admission. The pumpkin patch used to be free, folks. Keep this in mind if you bring the kiddies. 2 admissions, one park. Yeah. I expect I'll return to the cornmaze next year. I'll buy my pumpkins elsewhere, and I'll go after I eat lunch.

My wife and I went to the Liberty Corn Maze on a Friday night at the end of September 2011 and had a great time. There are four separate mazes, with total lengths of 1.1, 1.6, 2.3, and 2.9 miles each. Of course when you do a maze--especially with a map--you're never going to explore every little detour and walk the total distance. We walked all four, making it to all 24 "checkpoints," in a leisurely 2.5 hours. That's right, the maze is big enough that, even with a map and without getting too lost, we were able to spend more than 2 hours navigating them all. And even with the map a few spots are tricky enough--especially after dark--to make it relatively difficult... thus exciting. My only complaints are things that the owners can probably do very little about. First, some of the "walls" between maze paths are a little thin and you can see through to the next path. Second, this seems to encourage people to cut through the walls and make shortcuts. The whole point of a maze is... well, to walk a maze. When you get a dead end and you know the spot you're trying to reach is just over the next wall, but you don't know how to get there, the fun of that moment is lost when some bozo has busted right through the wall and made a path. We arrived about 30 minutes before sunset, so we did the first two mazes in the daylight and the last two after dark with a flashlight. Let me tell you, doing the corn mazes at night is the way to go. In the daytime, some of the "shortcuts" cut by kids through the maze are very visible and detract somewhat from the fun. At night, however, things like this essentially disappear, especially if you only use a red flashlight to light your map, maintaining your night vision to navigate the maze without a light. Add a thermos of hot cocoa and maybe some pumpkin bread, it makes for a great fall evening. The mazes are very well designed, and each maze has individual quirks that make it fun in a little different way than the others. For 2011, we enjoyed the spot in the blue maze that makes up a soccer player's head, where six or seven paths intersect and it was really easy to get lost and find yourself looping back time and again to the same spot. We also enjoyed the yellow maze, which is basically a long straight line to a little maze in the back corner that makes the shape of a soccer ball--once you get back there it's a fun challenge to make your way around the ball finding all the checkpoints. Overall, the Liberty Corn Maze is a really fun way to spend a fall evening. We'll definitely be back next year. One last note: be sure to find and print the $2 off coupon on their website. Also, I believe they hand them out at local Hy-Vees.

All of the perks still work like parking, drink cup and admission. However, our food pass did not work as specified on the website. You have three choices, only use the passes at Six Flags park, refund or get a certificate of $120 dollars. Even the discounts worked too. The atmosphere is you still feel like you are at a Cedar Fair park as they have the same uniforms and Snoopy greeted us. Cons were they did not open the parking lot until 10:30am which there was a line outside. They used to open the parking lot at around 10:00am. The VIP line was not obvious, but it is on the left most lane and we were able to get into the park early. Was impressed that the rides did open at 11am as sometimes we have to wait 30 minutes. I guess the day we went where lucky as most of the rides were opened. We wanted to ride Fury of the Nile and Steel Hawk, but they were closed, but Timber Wolf ended up being opened. Ride operations were not too bad as they moved quickly. I liked how the rides were maintained and Prowler they added more steel track and less roughness. The longest I waited was 50 minutes and that was Mamba and they were only running 1 train. The people where were great at putting people in the correct lines and was. Timber wolf opened that day and had one cart running and I was surprised how smooth it was. My wife and I ended up riding most of the rides. There were not shows that day that we were aware. Overall, we had a fun time there.

The highlights for me were definitely Mamba and Prowler. Mamba still delivers that classic airtime and speed, and Prowler was way more intense than I expected. We also spent some time walking around the park and it brought back a lot of nostalgia. There were families everywhere, people enjoying the shows, and the overall atmosphere felt very "summer in Kansas City." One thing I noticed is that ride operations seem to be hit-or-miss depending on the day. A few attractions were temporarily down while we were there, which was frustrating, but thankfully most of the major rides reopened later. If you've ever been to a regional amusement park, you kind of know that's part of the experience. The staff we interacted with were friendly, especially the ride operators who kept the lines moving. Speaking of lines, they weren't nearly as bad as I expected. We managed to get several rides in without spending our entire day waiting. Food is amusement park food--nothing life-changing--but it got the job done. I'd spend my money on rides before snacks. Overall, Worlds of Fun feels like a park that's somewhere between old-school charm and modern thrills. It's not the biggest or flashiest amusement park out there, but there's enough here for a fun day with friends or family. I'd come back, especially for another ride on Mamba.

WARNING: Do NOT waste your money here -- this business is a total scam!…read more I bought Groupon vouchers last winter for a specific family outing, only to discover later that the business was completely unresponsive. No one answered the phone, their website showed no available dates, and out of frustration I even drove an hour to their location--only to find nothing happening. A month later, I received an email stating they were "closed for the winter." Nowhere -- not on the Groupon listing, their website, or their voicemail -- did they mention being seasonal. When I tried to use my vouchers later, they refused to honor them. Even worse, the operators openly admitted that they continue to sell Groupon vouchers during the winter to "boost sales," fully knowing they're closed and that customers can't use them. That's deceptive and unethical. Bottom line: This company hides behind Groupon to take your money and then refuses to stand behind their product. Avoid them entirely -- don't fall into the same trap I did!

We arrived at the park at 10:30, I know this is before park opening at 11:00, but we wanted to be sure to hit the circuit running and be in line when the rides opened. At 11:30 the majority of the rides were still going through testing and not operating for passengers. We waited an hour for the Zamboni Zinger and after it was still not open, we decided to head off to other rides with less wait times (per the app). If the app says 45 minute wait time, expect and hour plus. Most of the larger rides were down multiple times throughout the day. We waited two hours for one ride that went down and we're told a "brief delay".....after another hour we threw in the towel. The jump the line passes allow for riders with a wrist band to enter a separate line, and even though they alternate regular with jump the line, if another ride in the park breaks down (which apparently happens frequently), the jump the line riders in the ride you are waiting in increases significantly. We left at 7 p.m. and ended up riding only 4 rides, three of which were the older, smaller, kiddie rides in the Western World. After $50+tax tickets and $30 parking, to say it was a disappointment is an understatement. The only redeeming qualities were the entertainment shows, but still not worth the ticket price for an amusement park, in my opinion. We scrapped Oceans of Fun altogether and completely changed our minds about a second day. If you must go, shell out the extra for the jump the line or better yet, save your money and see all the other (much better) attractions in the KC area!!
