After the Covid crises she was missing her friends and class. Miss Oyelese started the online classes and Avnoor was very happy to see her friends. It helped us as family to maintain a level of normalacy and continue her learning. Eko pley school has great curriculum, I think it comes from years of experience Miss Oyelese has in academic field specially how to teach younger kids. I appreciate and Thank you Eko Pley Preschool for going above and beyond to help kids and get them more than ready for Kindergarten. Avnoor didn't have to prepare extra for the kindergarten readiness exam, she did very well.

Over the eight years as clients, we have seen little staff turnover (and we still encounter retired staff locally who ask about our boys). Our two oldest were relatively easy kids, but our third child is quite "spirited". Cancare worked with us and the growth in our child has been amazing. All of our kids rave about the "banana loaf" and they all love the playground and teachers. Top all of that off with good managers and bus service provided to local schools - we feel exceptionally lucky to have access to the Cancare Child Centre in the NW.

Incident 1 As he was at the age where he wasn't napping…read more consistently anymore, (4 yrs) the staff was finding it a battle to get him to nap. One day my son came home and informed me that he had been flicked in the face by one of the workers and told "go to sleep you stupid boy." We don't flick faces in our house and I didn't feel like this was something he would make up. I confronted her with my son present and she denied anything. When we left my poor son looked at me and said "she's lying to you mommy". That broke my heart as a mother who just wants quality childcare for my kids. The director Rubina had my child moved from that room to the ecs room where the kids didn't have to nap. To my knowledge there was no consequence to the employee. Incident 2 My child was in the afternoon class so there were only 3 kids in the ecs room during the day. During that time there were no activities with those 3 children. I did however see them do things with the kids when there were more kids present. They were expected to play and get along. My son began to have conflict with one particular child and at times my son became so enraged he began to yell loudly, threaten to throw a chair ( which he never did/would) he would try to leave the room, he would ask to go to the directors office. At 5 children are learning to control their emotions and deal with their peers. I kept being told that parents were complaining about my child. I requested to meet with the parents of this other boy to see what we could do to try to help them get along but the director said they wouldn't do that. The last straw was when some of the other kids in the ecs room told me they were being told "nobody play with "Jacob". Now hes being publicly humiliated, ostracized and bullied. One staff member told me I should pray for my son and another was telling me I should be nicer to my child and another told me I need to talk to him at home. Like I wasn't doing my duty as a mother. A few months after moving him I found video on his Nintendo ds. He was trying to video this boys abuses and threated to tell miss mary. But He never did and now it was too late.HE has since been moved To a daycare and I have had no problems since January 7 months I didn't move my youngest child as IF my older was a problem child I didn't want to uproot the second one as well if this was going to be a pattern. Incident 3 My baby was coning home constantly with diaper rash. It was being cleared up on the weekend then come Monday night it was back Incident 4 My child is allergic to lotion with fragrance as documented in his file. The childcare worker although she cared enough to put lotion on his irritated areas (leg and arms) His file was not minded. As soon as I asked her to stop using it his skin irritation stopped Incident 5 It seems now that every time I go into the daycare I am signing incident reports about my 2 year old. Weather he's having a tantrum. doesnt want to join them for snack, go out to play or any other thing he's being written up. Ive been told his temper is exactly like his brother Incident 6 my son has been 3 for 3 months. When he is home he uses the toilet except for bedtime at daycare he is peeing in his pants so I now had to send him with pull ups. Incident 7 My husband makes the kids lunch and one morning he holds up a pill. A capsule with white powder inside and asks "what's this?' I had no idea as we don't take medicine.I told him I didn't know and he informed me that this was the 3rd one he'd found and he thought it might have been a vitamin or something I was putting in for him. I am so tired of talking about my issues with the daycare staff and I am completely uncomfortable even going in there anymore but I show the pill to the ladies who man his toddler room. They don't recognize it but I just wanted to be aware of what I was finding not only for my child but the safety of others because I don't know what in it. When I took it to the new director Miss Mary. She said she didn't know and that it probably came from my house. I was fuming and came unglued! The director from the other daycare called me and told me that she called licensing herself to report it but I haven't heard anything. I explained that its not my intention to cause trouble I just wanted them to know what was happening and I was mad that there was no parental support.. Incident 6 Surprise surprise another incident report! So I sign it and the lady looks and says " that's not your signature".....um I just signed it in front of you of course it is! Then I pick up my son and his pull up is more full than when he wakes in the morning. It was hanging off of him and it was obvious. I asked " don't you change their diapers?" she said that she wasn't his provider but she was the only one in the room along with another lady. She said he shouldn't be in diapers anyway. Angie loves to swear to adults in front of the children, she has done it multiple times in my presence. I've even heard her yell at children for not speaking to other staff while using the bathroom. I was never given the parent handbook- but was still forced to sign the intake papers claiming that I had received it before they'd accept my child into their daycare. The daycare smells of feces as soon as you open the door, is dark & dingy as well. THIS ISN'T EVEN THE WORST PART! One day I showed up at nap time to find my daughter sleeping with a bib on and a blanket wrapped around her head. She could have suffocated. My daughter was not given anything to drink for 9 hours her last Monday there. Emma tried to justify it by saying that the daycare needs a consent form to spill out old juice before they'll make a new bottle for the child. I called head office to complain about this that very night because Angie was not around at the time. They told me that there was no such thing as a consent form for that. I was given nothing but attitude from (Babycare Daycare) since my complaint. Head office also tried to justify Emma's actions by claiming that she is young and they have had to do lots of training with her. That is no excuse. If she is not qualified to take care of toddlers- then why is she even working there unsupervised in the first place? My daughter went there for less than a month and I have already pulled her out and placed her elsewhere. She was only 13 months old, and obviously cannot speak up for herself. For her first daycare- I am extremely offended and hurt that they would treat anyone's children in such a malicious manner. Upon sharing my story, I was informed by another mother who lives in the apartment building that she has personally witnessed staff violently pick up children by one arm as well as sit on their phones opposed to supervise the children while playing outside in the playground behind our apartment building. I gave them a bad review on Google Maps- just to have other people try to discredit my review and say that I had screamed at the staff and called them names. I would never act like that- especially if I needed something as important as child care during the week while I'm at work / school. I also didn't even bring most of this stuff up to the staff because I don't feel that it's necessary to have to tell 'professionals' how to properly care for my little one. I've also noticed that my review has been removed from that (Google Maps) site. I just want every child to be safe and not be neglected by people who are supposed to care for our children when we cannot- hence why I've gone to these extremes. Please, do not place your children under the 'care' or 'supervision' of these people. There are way better daycares out there that are very clean, brightly lit, do not smell like feces and actually have kind / caring staff, as well as a proper curriculum for toddlers! My twins where close to 2.5 years old when…read morethey started, and due to covid had lived a very isolated life until this point, this was the first day care we ever used, and it was a daunting experience for both my kids and me. The staff have been amazing, and I want to especially mention Ms Angela, who was their first (& longest) care giver, she was so kind and patient with them both. My daughter still has major anxiety leaving us in the morning (I don't think this has anything to do with the day care, just she doesn't like being apart from her parents), Ms Angela every morning took time out, to greet her, and sit and cuddle with her until she settled. She was always very content and happy when I went to collect her, I do think this is a separation anxiety and the care Ms Angela showed will always stay in my mind, I'm eternally grateful for her and all the teachers who have taken care of my kids. I've never seen anything that has caused me any concern, and when it comes to my kids I am very cautious. I've no hesitations to recommend this facility to anyone. It is also more affordable than many other locations. If I had to say anything negative which isn't a reflection on staff, is that the back rooms have no direct sun light, I was 100% aware of that when I started the kids, but given the affordability factor, I didn't let that influence my decision. Also there is a new director who started a month or two ago, Ms Leslie, she seems super nice, friendly, organised and is very responsive if you email about anything. I never write reviews but I know how difficult it is to choose a day care for the most precious people in our lives, honestly I would recommend checking this team and facility out. The only reason we are moving from here is it only goes to age 3, so my kids are moving on to another facility ran by the same people. Good luck in selecting the day care that suits you and your families needs.
