    Blueberry muffin and Caramel latte

Got a blueberry muffin and Carmel latte, both delicious. Looking forward to going again!

My wife and I were in town visiting her niece. I found this place wayyy before we got to Smyrna because I know that she needs her coffee in the morning (I know my wife). People seemed to rave about this place and, once we stepped inside, we could see why. This place is all about the arts, which you can see in the decor and the community sponsored events that they hold. We walked in and were immediately greeted by the lady and young man who were working. They have a bunch of different drinks as well as lots of food choices. If we weren't getting on the road to head back to Florida, we would have sat down and had some breakfast. My wife ordered a coconut latte and I ordered a chai latte. She said that her coffee was perfect, which I just have to take her word for because I'm not a coffee fan. My chai was also good, but I was expecting a slightly sweetened version and this was two tea bags in hot half and half (I'm a breve kinda person). I didn't start drinking it until we were in the car and down the road. Had I known it wasn't sweetened, I would have asked for some simple syrup. That said, I usually drink my bagged tea without sugar, so I wasn't completely put off by this. The only interesting thing is that it was almost $5 for the chai, which was a little confusing considering what it consisted of. Regardless, this is a great place to frequent and I'm all about supporting small businesses! We'll definitely be back if we're ever back in Smyrna.

Absolutely the BEST quiche around! Friendly staff. These guys know how to make an amazing latte, but if straightforward coffee is more your thing, then you must give the Carpe Grog a try. They also offer a great take on a Cuban sandwich or give the pimento cheese a try (be warned- it has a bit of a kick with the jalapeños). I have so many favorites, as I stop by almost weekly!

The food is great, but $3.50 for a tiny ramekin of salsa and a handful of corn chips is ridiculous.

This is my go to coffee shop when I'm near Smyrna. They always have BOGO coffees and typically that's what I get. My absolute favorite is the lavender latte with whip cream. It's a tiny little shop with lots of local art. Which is a plus in my book. All the staff has been very nice and I really don't have any complaints.

After moving to Smyrna (and mourning the loss of my Nashville zip code), Carpe Cafe has lifted my spirits with their delicious lattes and delectable breakfast casseroles. Being a full-time freelancer, this is the perfect workspace. Plentiful tables, never too crowded, and a creative environment. Pro: tons of free parking. Con: hide and seek outlets for laptops. As if Carpe Cafe didn't already hold my heart, I found out they're a non-profit also holding art classes and being run mostly by volunteers. Sitting in here even for a minute, I feel myself soaking up passion for the arts. I'm thrilled to not only support (my new) local but to have found a place of this caliber in Smyrna.

    Really neat space.

Carpe Cafe is simply the best place around. Sure, their coffee is delicious, their food really good (and cheap!), and they have an amazingly creative space, but it's their mission here that sets Carpe apart from any place else. Carpe is the fundraising arm of a local community arts organization, and it's ran mostly by volunteers. It's nothing to see the CFO wipe down tables. Don't let that scare you - it's easy to think you'll be served crummy food by people who couldn't cook to save their lives - but I can honestly say I've never had a bad meal here. Their ham sandwich stack is my favorite. As a freelancer, I'm happy to come here and work a few times a week. I'm also more than happy to support such an amazing local organization. When it comes to places to have great coffee, a quick and tasty lunch, and get work done in Smyrna, as far as I'm concerned there is really only one choice.

This was such a wonderful little cafe. I live within walking distance and I enjoyed coming here after dropping my kids off at preschool. The folks there are very nice. The coffee was excellent. The food was great. The music playing was enjoyable. The art on display was pleasant. I was able to have a quiet hour to myself to read a book. I always enjoy supporting local businesses and artists!

Stopped in for a coffee and sandwich. Love the homey atmosphere, friendly staff and the music they play.

The atmosphere is nice...homey. I really enjoy their coffee selections. The staff is friendly. The food is basic. Their signature stack sandwich is something anyone could make at home. It took quite a while just to get the sandwich, too. The place didn't seem that crowded so that couldn't have been their excuse for slow service. I like that they offer free wi-fi. It's a nice place to sit and drink a cup of coffee and relax. Their desserts looked good but I did not try any. Parking is also an issue. There isn't any close by.

Went in for a visit on 4 May 2016 because I was in the area for work. On Yelp's recommendation. A nice little cafe with outdoor seating and on the inside it was very cosy and it appeared to have an area for music performances though during my brunch time visit there was no one singing or playing. I wanted a nice light breakfast with vegetables so I ordered the breakfast casserole. It was a simple $4 light fare dish that was served in a nice little earthenware dish. I also got some of the house coffee. The coffee was decent. The casserole was like an omelette and had all the vegetables I wanted baked in. Really nice, and inexpensive breakfast. Do yourself a favour and skip the McDonalds and give the Carpe Cafe a visit. Your stomach and your body will thank you.

There were a lot of people while we were there, so we didn't get to hang out with a few of the cats, but I'm glad they were being entertained enough by the other people~ All those sweethearts deserve the love. The food options weren't like a "traditional cafe" in the way that everything other than the coffee was prepackaged. There were some absolutely adorable cat shaped cookies that looked great! They had many other options on snacks too. The workers there were nice and cared about the cats a lot. Now for my one downside: trying to adopt. The cat we really liked was already going home with someone else. It was kind of hard to not be at least a little sad that this very affectionate kitty wasn't coming home with us, but that's just how it goes I guess. I wish places like this would have some way to identify which pets were already spoken for. There wasn't really any way upfront to tell other than finding a worker and asking. Maybe they could receive a temporary collar? Again, this doesn't ruin the experience and I would still highly recommend a visit! But if you want to adopt any of the cats, maybe let the employees know when you walk in.

The texture was dense, dry, and crumbly--more like cornbread than the soft, fluffy, melt-in-your-mouth pancakes I was expecting. They lacked the moist, buttery richness I personally look for in a great pancake. To be fair, that may be their intended style, but it wasn't what I had hoped for. The staff was accommodating, and I exchanged the pancakes for scrambled eggs, turkey sausage, and seasoned potatoes. That plate was much more enjoyable. The eggs were fluffy, the potatoes were nicely seasoned with a good crisp on the outside, and the turkey sausage was a solid choice. I also sampled the Turkey Sausage Biscuits & Gravy. The dish was comforting and satisfying, but it could have benefited from a little more seasoning. A touch more sage in the sausage would have added the savory depth that makes biscuits and gravy truly memorable. One of the highlights of the meal was the fresh juice selection. The Morning Meditation was refreshing with a bright blend of orange, lemon, turmeric, ginger, beet, and agave. The lavender drink was equally delicious, light, floral, and refreshing without being overpowering. If you're visiting First Watch, I highly recommend trying one of their fresh juices. Overall, while the Lemon Ricotta Pancakes missed the mark for me, the fresh juices, eggs, potatoes, and turkey sausage made for a pleasant brunch experience. I'd gladly return and explore more of their savory breakfast offerings.
