We love Germantown Cafe! We're usually in for happy hour and it's one of the best in Germantown! Definitely get the old fashioned because it's a steal for $6. The meatballs are also a favorite. Can't go wrong with any desserts, but the key lime pie is our favorite!

Super cute. Karen was our waitress and she was so nice. We weren't sure if we were going to stay due to a picky eater but we did and it was great. Food came out quickly and was great. If you don't like onions I would not recommend the burger, the picky one had to remove the jam but she still likes the burger.

Excellent all the way around. Loved it all. Great selection of hot teas! Hot tea was needed on a snow flurry day like today. And the French onion soup was PERFECTION. No need for me to rave over the food because the photos are great and EVERYTHING was excellent. Just check out the pics. There was a very slight delay in getting our food, but management was here to express their apologies before we could even say anything to each other about the delay. Great service from the waitress and we were immediately sat and the place quickly filled up. It's a cafe and we had lunch so can't speak to the bar scene, but the overall feel is comfortable and not too noisy. If you happen to be at a Sounds game this is a great place to stop in and visit.

With all the amazing and trendy restaurants popping up in Germantown, this place is a breath of fresh air. It's cozy and classic, the food is traditional but not boring, and the drinks are reasonably priced. It's the perfect neighborhood restaurant! We walked in at 7 pm on a Friday night. Our server was delightful, but overall we waited a lot at all points throughout the meal. We didn't mind because we were having good conversation, but it was noticeably slow. The crispy salmon was delish, though I wouldn't have minded if it was less cooked on the inside. Arugula salad was a winner, and the dirty martinis were spot on. Don't forget to try it for the great happy hour!

We had a meal at Germantown Cafe on Juneteenth 2025 and it did not disappoint. We were visiting from Atlanta and stopped at the National Musuem of African American Music and one of the vendors recommended that we try the restaurant for lunch and RAVED about who delicious their wings and food were. We arrived around 11:30 AM. We were seated within minutes. Our server was quick. She brought out a special menu for Juneteenth. All the drinks on it were $6.19. After reviewing it and asking her for a recommendation, I decided to order an UN fruit tea. It was pretty good. Because of the recommendation from earlier, we decided to order wings, fries and onion rings and my sweet tooth led me to order fried cheesecake. We LOVED the wings. If you're visiting like us, try the trifecta wings. You will not be disappointed. I also liked their onion rings. The fried cheesecake was a bit of an overkill level of sweetness and I did not like it as much, so I would recommend it. Overall, I enjoyed the food and the experience. It was nice to find a spot that acknowledged Juneteenth. I would come back again for sure the next time I visit Nashville.

Flavor: delicious in every dish. Went in for the french onion soup and it was exactly as I hoped it would be - flavorful soup, perfectly melted cheese. Also had the TN popcorn which was crazy good along with savory monkey bread and a Caesar salad. All good. Service: friendly, helpful Other notes: happy hour has good options in the bar. Location & Parking: corner spot, street parking. Price: good $$ for the flavor Is it what's up? Ja

Underwhelmed and over priced ... came in on Thursday night. Very quiet in both restaurant and bar side. We ordered fried calamari which was different for sure. It looked burnt due to the type of batter they used - tasted like something you'd fry catfish in - not very good at all. Entrees - whole chicken, crab cake entree, burger and Caesar salad. For the price they charge it was not up to par. Extremely disappointed in quality of food for the price. They did give us a free dessert for to the fact that our dinner took an unusual amount of time to be prepared. The service was nice - they were friendly and attentive.

Great happy hour at Germantown Cafe! Nice bar area with great service and some great prices. I had the $7 old fashioned and it was very well done. We had the house made meatballs and truffle Parmesan fries both were very good. Nice neighborhood cafe that has been around for many years always a solid choice and if you can catch happy hour some deals. They have their own parking lot a rarity in the Germantown area.

Not sure how we have missed Germantown Cafe for the past few years, but now it is heavy in the rotation for date nights, brunch and/or cocktails! GTC is one restaurant with two distinct spaces. Dining room where the vibe is slower, darker and caters towards sit down meals. Classic decor, dark colors, ambient lighting and just a chill vibe. The bar area has a wildly different vibe...it is more ski-chalet/lodge feel to it with a working fireplace, ski decor mixed with TV's and sports memorabilia. While the dining room is great, the bar is absolutely where it is at! That's where the real magic happens! The space is smaller and a bit more cozy, with a good-sized bar, casual seating, and booths/high tops. Food wise, we started with the fried green tomatoes, followed by the Chicken Milanese, Plum Pork, and Brussels Sprouts. The fried green tomatoes and Brussels were absolutely phenomenal! The Chicken Milanese was good, but it was a little overcooked for my taste--the breading had some bitter spots and it was overall a bit dry. Once we wrapped dinner, we popped over to the bar for a night cap and to our surprise, at 7:30 PM on a Saturday night, they were in the middle of Happy Hour! A happy hour on a weekend? Unheard of!! We went with a few cocktails, an Espresso Martini for me and my partner went with the GTC Old Fashioned. Both were absolutely delightful! Service in the bar was on point--fast, friendly, and efficient--though a little hit or miss in the dining room. Nothing major, but noticeable. Given location, parking can be a challenge, but there is a dedicated complimentary lot, plus a pay lot on the corner, and of course, street parking if you're lucky. Overall, Germantown Cafe is a solid spot that remains a constant on our rotations!

Food is very mediocre and underwhelming for brunch. The pepper jack grits didn't taste super flavorful and were extra watery. The Benedict was alright overall maybe a solid 6-7. I also had a Bloody Mary and my friends had mimosas. All drinks were extra watered down. Wouldn't really come back for food or drinks. 4/10

Bar Top Review Service: from the moment I sat down immediate greeted and brought me yes and water. The bartender was kind and helpful! Food: had the burger and wings both were really good. The burger is a perfect size they use sweet pickles which aren't my favorite but didn't take away from the sandwich. The wings aren't the traditional size I believe they call them French cut. But they were really good! The space is cute and fits for friends or a first date. 9/10 overall

I've always wanted to grab brunch here. I ordered the Breakfast Burger and Breakfast Potatoes. The portion size was massive. I had sizable leftovers. The food was pretty good but it just lacked a little flavor. There could have been more sauce on the burger. It took a while for someone to come to the front and seat us. We also barely saw our waiter and had to ask around to get water refills.

Charges automatically added for a party of 12.

During a recent work trip to Nashville, Tennessee, we had lunch at Germantown Cafe. We had a group reservation, and a long table was set up for us when we arrived. One server managed our table of 12, and since it wasn't very busy, she handled it well--except one team member's food didn't arrive with the rest. I had a fried green tomato sandwich, which was good but a bit heavy on the pimento cheese. What really disappointed us was the check: there was a 20% gratuity (which we expected for a large party), along with extra charges--a 4% Event Production Fee and a 2% Kitchen Love fee. We were not pleased to see that 26% of our check was automatically added. It definitely left a bad taste in our mouths.

We arrived to the patio bar first and had a great experience with the very informative bar tender. She was helpful and made recommendations for us to choose from for dinner. Patio drinks Jack and Coke double tall and Old Fashion. We were welcomed in with a "happy birthday" and seated promptly. Once seated, Katie came to the table with a bubbly and positive attitude (she was fantastic). She took our order quickly and stayed on top of the beverages. Now here is where the experience went from really good to top-notch--apps, dinner, desserts. Starters Caesar salad with spicy breadcrumbs was the best and most fresh tasting Caesar my husband and I have ever tasted... not too much dressing but very flavorful Truffle potatoes with truffle cream sauce and parsley powder came with a punch of savory flavor and a nice crunch wonderfully delicious. Only disappointment was there was not more! Mussels White Wine with freshly toasted local sourdough bread. The mussels were cooked perfectly and made with a perfect blend of citrus and garlic broth. Dinners Roasted Chicken Pesto Risotto was one of the most flavorful items of the night. Risotto cooked perfectly and the combination of ingredients matched perfectly. Pan seared Trout was the best dinner of the night, in my opinion. The corn and blend of dill and burre blanc was a magical pairing with the perfectly cooked Trout. So much flavor Dessert Cremeux olive oil cake was fresh and had a nice citrus flavor paired with chocolate cremeux and raspberries. Very unique but worth the try! Sticky Toffee Pudding So many flavors with this. This one was my favorite, but it was "if held hostage I would choose" situation because everything was so tasty! The server got the kitchen to make me a French Toast Bread Pudding even after the kitchen had stopped serving it for the day (brunch menu). All desserts are amazing! If you go to this hidden gem, prepare to have your tastebuds in overdrive! Wonderful service, amazing food and overall blown away experience! We will be back and will continue to support this local business that supports other local businesses!!!! Go see Katie and the team!!!

Didn't feel like I was right in the heart of bustling East Nashville - felt like a little retreat. The service was great and so patient with us as we were quite indecisive. Especially since it was a new menu and there were no pics online (then I totally forgot to take pics to help future yelpers not fall to my fate, alas!). I landed on the French Toast Bread Pudding. It was quite heavenly, but I do wish it was a bit bigger for the price... My friends both got the Avocado Toast and a few of us ordered sides of chicken sausage (and yeah, that was good and they were also a good size, plus 3 links were included in each order). We finished quite quickly but were in a deep convo about who knows what, but never felt rushed to leave (probs as it was kind of between service times, but still, appreciated). Def need to go back for Dinner and another little retreat!

We chose the restaurant to celebrate my daughter's birthday and, as we have done on previous visits, ordered the Chef's Special for our party of three. While we were surprised to see the price had increased by $15 per person since our last visit, we expected the same high-quality dining experience that has always made the restaurant a favorite. Unfortunately, the service and pacing fell well short of those expectations. Dinner lasted more than two hours from start to finish, with excessive waits between nearly every course. What should have been an enjoyable celebratory meal became increasingly frustrating as the evening progressed. Our server appeared attentive and engaged with surrounding tables throughout the night, yet we frequently felt overlooked. There were extended periods where we were unable to get refills or assistance, leaving us feeling forgotten and, quite literally, thirsty. By the end of the evening, we had to request that the "sweet treat" be packaged to go, and the response from our server came across as irritated rather than accommodating. This was our first time being seated on the outdoor patio, but regardless of seating location, the level of service should be consistent throughout the restaurant. In the end, we spent well over $300 and left feeling frustrated, exhausted, and disappointed rather than celebrated. For a restaurant that has built a reputation on exceptional food, hospitality, and attention to detail, this experience missed the mark. Significant price increases are easier to accept when they are accompanied by an equally elevated dining experience. Unfortunately, that was not the case on this visit, and it has left us questioning whether we will return in the future.

The…read morerestaurant was completely packed when we visited, so I'm really glad I booked a table well in advance. They have a relatively small entrée menu, and the entrées are definitely on the pricey side. However, they have a great selection of appetizers and smaller plates, which makes it easy to try a variety of dishes. I decided to go with the Chef's Choice option, where the chef decides what you eat. Honestly, I'm really glad I went with this because it allowed us to experience a wide variety of dishes without having to choose everything ourselves. We started with fried potatoes with green garlic chimichurri and whipped feta with dip. The whipped feta was absolutely amazing and one of the first highlights of the meal. We then received a couple of special bite-sized appetizers, including bacon-wrapped dates and beet falafel bites. The bacon-wrapped date was delicious, and the beet falafel was a fun and flavorful bite. The halibut sushi was good, but the real surprise for me was the avocado and crispy rice salad. This dish was absolutely out of this world! The crispy rice added an amazing texture, and the combination of flavors was fantastic. For the entrée, we had the house kebab platter, which came with house shishito peppers, fried okra, mushrooms, chicken and steak kebabs, along with a side of fermented pepper. There was a lot going on with this platter, and it was a great way to finish the savory part of the meal. We ended dinner with the peach and almond Malabi, which was delicious and a perfect way to finish the meal. Overall, Butcher & Bee completely lived up to my expectations. The Chef's Choice experience was definitely the right decision, especially for someone like me who loves trying different dishes. The food was creative, flavorful, and full of interesting combinations. The only thing to keep in mind is that the entrées can be quite expensive, but the smaller plates give you a chance to sample a lot of different flavors. Definitely make a reservation ahead of time because this place fills up quickly!

The cooks were throwing down in that kitchen! Over a couple of days I tried a few things. SZECHUAN SALAD I got the Szechuan Salad with both kale and spinach. I added tempeh bacon and extra dressing on the side. (It didn't need the extra dressing though.) This salad is SO good! I had to force myself to put the fork down and not overeat. It's a large portion so you can share or save half for another day. (When doing this I recommend getting the dressings on the side to prevent soggy greens.) All of the ingredients tasted super fresh, and that Szechuan tofu was thoroughly marinated. Deliciousness! The tempeh (and at home avocado) that I added wasn't necessary but it sure was tasty. This salad is gluten free. SZECHUAN BRUSSELS I love me some roasted brussels sprouts so it was a must to try theirs. I added jalapeños and Hot Tempeh. I have no idea what Hot Tempeh is but I wanted to try it. Best decision ever. The dish itself is amazing. 10/10! The sprouts are saturated in the Szechuan sauce and spices, so every tender bite bursts with tantalizing flavors in your mouth. The Hot Tempeh is tempeh with a coating. It's quite delicious and it elevated an already soaring experience for me. The Szechuan Brussels dish is gluten free, but the Hot Tempeh is not (because of the breading). DUBAI CHOCOLATE CAKE Because I had to. It was NOT gluten free, but I risked it (I have a gluten sensitivity). BLUEBERRY PANCAKES I ordered a single pancake, gluten free for $1 extra. So fluffy and buttery. You'd never guess it was gluten free or vegan. ROASTED POTATOES Excellent preparation and seasonings. MOCK TUNA MELT Gluten free when ordered as a bowl. It was served on a bed of spinach instead of bread. I omitted the cheese and tomatoes. It was very good and the chipotle sauce had a great kick. TRIPLE CHOCOLATE CAKE Gluten free. Rich. Delicious. Everything I ate here exceeded my expectations. Graze is sure to be one of my go to spots for delicious food when I'm in Nashville.
