So happy to have found this hidden gem in Stillwater! I booked a "pour your own" candle class for a group of friends for our girls night out and absolutely fell in love this store! The place itself has such a unique and dark, yet luxe atmosphere with a touch of goth aesthetic. I was slightly worried the smell would be overwhelming since one of my friends is sensitive to scents but as soon as you walk in you are pleasantly enveloped with a most enjoyable and comforting smell without it being overbearing! Plus, not only are their candles toxic free, but hand-poured and formulated with high end luxury oils blended into a 100% natural soy wax blend for clean burning. I also love that they have an awesome recycling/discount program to reduce their footprint. Its refreshing to see a company with such high values and truly consider their work as a passionate art form rather than just another tourist shop in this charming historic town. Our group was given time to peruse the retail portion of the store before our class started which includes not only candles, but one of a kind items and gifts (even from some of my favorite brands that are usually harder to find in stores!) including Spitfire Girl, Sugar Boo and P.F. Candles. We received a discount for doing the class also! Booking the workshop online was quite simple and very convenient as it assured our spots (they do accept walk ins but spaces seemed to fill quickly so I am happy I made reservations) I also like their flexibility as I was able to book the basic package with the option for everyone to make their own upgrades separately if desired. The workshop space was a whole upper level floor in a historic brick building (circa 1800s) designated just for the candle making. It was spacious with two huge tables to accommodate up to a group of 16 people! The large windows overlooking the towns main street was also a bonus. We were able to sit where we liked and each spot had a cute tray set up that included all the supplies we needed to make our candle. There was a beautiful variety of vessels show cased and easy to select from with pricing clearly labeled. There was also wax station and a scent station that offered an incredible selection of pre blended scents each of which were carefully curated by the owner and kept unnamed as to enhance our scent experience with our memory, making us reminisce on what each reminded us of. Overall, the entire process was truly hands on and the instructor was super personable and made the detailed process seem so effortless. It was so fun to collaborate and guess what smells we could decipher in each blend- and the instructor knew exactly what was included in each in case we couldn't figure it out! We were also able to mix the scents if we wanted making it feel like a fun mad scientist experiment! This is something totally unique that none of us had done before and they even served wine and beer to accompany the class so it felt very intimate and classy. We did an evening class so we were able to pick up our candles the next day-we were glad because we went out to dinner after and didn't want to have to carry them around with us. The instructor also gave us an insider tip to a hidden speak easy bar that was just so magical and mysterious that we would never have otherwise known about! The experience was fine but overpriced. We went as a Mother's Day experience. I've been to other candle making experiences and this was not as fun. I also paid to have the candles shipped the next day and we didn't receive them. I called to get them shipped out and they said they would be in the mail the next day. We still have not received them. so while the experience was "ok" we haven't received the product we paid for and so I cannot recommend them. read more

Candle is cheaply made! For 40$+ I'd expect the glass to be black at least, and the scent to be noticeable. So sad, the style is cool. The glass was not black as appeared has obviously been spray painted black and was scratched when we got it home, not noticeable in the dark store. Doesn't smell like much once lit. Even after an hour and a half. Won't be shopping here again. Oh, and the country music being played was kind of a weird culture clash! But that was more funny than anything. read more

Absolutely love their candles, they burn clean and fill up the room with scent! Their candles are hand poured which makes them so much more perfect! I have many favorites in all of their collections. A few that I love are Cupid from their love collection, Maiden Guyo from their dark collection, and #14 from their studio collection. We went with a group of people and had an overall good experience. It was fun learning how to make candles and an overall enjoyable experience. However, it's very pricey and they charge you a mandatory 20% gratuity on the overall purchase $50 for the experience and $8-12 for the vessel ( you can get a plain glass jar for free) so for the 1 hour experience and 2 candles with gratuity it was $72.00 read more

I was so excited to try out this pour your own candle class, but it ended up just being a huge headache. 2 of my friends and I signed up for this class, hoping for a fun Sunday fall activity, but ultimately regretted it, after a series of unfortunate events. I do understand this store is new, and the instructor of this class had only taught 1 class before ours, but it ended up being very clear that was the case. We initially signed up for a basic package, that just included the candle, but once we got there we were asked if we wanted to upgrade, but there were no guidelines as to what was included with any sort of upgrade. There are numerous things to upgrade to: with enhanced candle vessels, bottles of water bottles were an up-charge and the option of beer or wine, etc. Their pricing structure ended up being so confusing, but we finally figured out that if we wanted to have a glass of wine, it made sense to upgrade, if we were also thinking of choosing a cooler vessel. The pricing levels were so choppy, because we weren't told about them initially, so we initially accepted an offer of some water, but then we were later informed the bottles of water were $3 each. And wine was $5? Even with an upgraded package, you still had to pay $3 for water, which is the dumbest thing I have ever heard of. I already upgraded and paid $15 and they penny and dimed me an additional $3, even though it said wine and beer and water and pop was included. Yes, it is just as confusing as it sounds. Their website also claims you can pick up your candles later the same day, but after our class when we asked when we should pick them up, she had no idea what to tell us, or even what the hours of the store were. She told us we could not pick them up that day. We live 30 and 45 minutes away from the store, so this would prove to be a big headache. The next day we called the store and asked if our candles were ready to be picked up, and we said we had a 45 min drive ahead of us. The store associate said "yes" but didn't even ask what candles we were picking up, nor did she tell us that they were closing in 30 mins. We plugged the address in, and Apple Maps claimed the store was open until 6pm. We drove the 45 mins one way on that Monday, that we didn't even plan to drive, because we planned on picking them up on Sunday. We arrived to a closed store. Their website says it closes at 5pm on Mondays, but Apple Maps said 6pm. We didn't think we needed to check multiple places. We did reach out to the store, and let them know about this frustration, and they did end up blaming us that we were the ones who looked in the wrong place for the hours, even though we were given no literature about when to pick up the candles. Also, if you expect someone to pick up a candle the next day, after a Sunday class, why are you only open until 5pm? They also accused us of wanting an "open bar" when we only ever wanted water and 1 glass of wine each. In the end, we asked for our candles to be refunded or mailed to us (they had a mailing option online that they never offered during our class). We didn't have another day we could drive 1.5 hours round trip to pick them up, after this disaster. They did refund us: the only reason this review is a 2 star instead of 1 star. Additionally, the class, also was super boring and basic. No facts about candles, no history on the store, no info about the owner or even any information about where the candles at this store are made, or any sort of information about the scents or the benefit of their candles over a different candle (non-toxic?). To me, it was a 15 min class that was stretched into an hour. There were 12 place settings, but only 3 of us signed up for the class, so 3 of us were crowded into a tiny section of one of the tables. It just seems like nothing was thought through. When we mentioned that it wasn't much of a class (nothing informative) they said the class isn't designed to teach you about candles or the store, just to show you how to pour a candle -- ok -- missed opportunity in my book. It is a cool idea and a cool space they have, but there are a LOT of kinks to be worked out before I would ever consider returning, ultimately they wasted our time in numerous ways, to not even end up with a candle in the end. read more
