Chris Snyder is my attorney. He is a great attorney. The law firm office is fun! They have nice decorations for the Halloween. It is a nice warm greeting with customers. There are a lot of attorneys working at this office however I highly recommend Chris because he is a great listener and he will get the job done. The price for my lawsuit is very reasonable. They are very organized. They will send you emails for any updates. I hate the attorneys office when you call and no responses. After charging $30,000 for a guardianship case and we had POA it took them a year to lose the case for us and to quit representing my dad on another case where he hurt himself at a hotel and because they lost my case they have yet to call and tell me they wont be doing my dads case either so they had one of their staff members email me and tell me instead of calling my dad. Very unprofessional set of trash that cant and don't know how to represent their clients but they can run a bill sky high. At the time that I hired Josh Carpenter's firm, I had already been working with another attorney.. And although the other attorney was a lot cheaper, it was very stressful because the cheaper attorney refused to answer any of my legal questions... Even when I told him that I was willing to pay more money to get my questions answered, the cheaper attorney said that he did not offer that.. More than anything, I just needed to know where I stand so that I could get a piece of mind.. Everything was moving so slowly that I called my uncle who was a retired attorney, and he mentioned that I go to Avvo to see if they can recommend an attorney who would be able to get my questions answered and maybe work a little faster.. I have a case an immigration case with Carpenter and ASSociates and let me share my story... Last year the firm made an attempt to expand their immigration practice. At that time, I chose the firm due to what they claim to be publicically thru their commercials and at that time, speaking to someone by phone that seemed dedicated to helping me with the case to get my husband to the US. I decided to work with the firm and a WONDERFUL LAW team Gustavo and Natalia were very attentive and on point and walked me thru the process and filed the i130 for me in September 2022. They were professional and made sure I had everything done correctly as I should and then it became a waiting game from there. I got a call every month just keeping ne in the loop. If I had a question, it was answered within 12 to 24 hours. They even worked as "coun Elora when I had issues and talked to me with understanding. Then in 2023...I found an email from Gustavo that he was parting ways with the company. Then soon after an email was sent by the firm, a certified letter and a regular letter that stated they were no longer working with Gustavo and they parted ways amicably. They gave me choices on what I can do...choose to stay with them, continue working with Gustavo or find another firm. They stated I would not get my money back being I paid for services IN FULL at this time. Part if the money was a fee that goes to either the state or is some fee for part of this process as needed which is about 1500 I think. In total I paid 7500 for this service. They asked that I respond via email about my decision in which I wrote a lengthy email about my dissatisfaction of HOW this was done. Based on their words regarding customer focus...nothing about this process had ME in mind and this is a very serious situation. No one responded to my email but a paralegal who knows NOTHING. The owner or anyone supposedly credible did not bother to reach out to me to regarding my concerns. On August 1st the embassy sent me an email to tell me an action was taken on my case. I could not see it via my log in and Carpenter law firm is listed on my file as the firm to communicate with as well which means there is a separate log in they have from me to see what happened. I called. Talked to the parralegal...she asked for my log in in and I did not give it to her because they should have theirs. I called again later in the day and she said still no word from lawyer with my case. I eventually got into my case and saw I was approved. A full day later, not a word from the firm and the paralegal said they do not have the log in info to the embassy portal to my case. At this point...Carpenter is better suited for the criminals they defend or whatever else they do because immigration was a swing and they missed. This is serious as it involves me and my husband's life. I was pregnant and lost my child and he wasn't here to be with me so ANYTHING going on with our case is top priority to me. The lawyer that was apart of the firm was truly the BEST. Considering they did not offer any of my money back to go towards another lawyer or to pay the lawyer they let go so I could stay with him was definitely a money issue because they gave me choices I could nake on my own but will NOT pay a new fee when Carpenter was paid and as a FIRM have done ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! I am very dissapointed because they have zero competence and do not adhere to the words they claim to be as a firm. I could have done the form on my own but I am not in the habit of falling in love with people in other countries and going thru such a process. I still know nothing about what happens next nor am I being educated on it. As of today...I have heard from noone with actual knowledge sin e they released the immigration practice in May 2023. I need advice on suing them for their negligence with me. I never experienced working with a law firm that ends a practice while still working with me and they do nothing after but write a letter giving me choices of what to do but not offering the money they have been FULLY paid to go toward another firm or the person that was previously with their firm and properly working with me. I cannot speak on any other part of their practice but the Immigration is a total sham. This firm do not stand by their word, totally incompetent, no follow thru, ignorant staff and overall has provided far from quality service for ME as a client of this firm. There is no rating low enough for this attorney. He agreed to accept $400 per month, then began hounding us for cash. So stupid that we were we took money from our 401k, sold all our stock,etc. specifically advising him to be judicious with that money $14K within about 6 hours. He was late for hearings, or sent in people we didn't know. He was late 3 times to meetings with us HE called and charged us for, and two times didn't show at all. He was disciplined by the New Mexico State Bar which Texas upheld, but we didn't find that out until AFTER we hired him. He is no better than a con man on the street. Undeniably the worst law firm ever, Carpenter starts out telling you what you want to hear then you never hear from him again. Never returns phone calls or emails, he only calls when he wants money, then he 's practically stalking you, spent several thousand dollars. I had been with him 4 months when we finally met in person for less than 5 mins. even after a year that was the only time I saw him, but he claimed to be my attorney???? I told carpenter EVERYTHING about my case. I SPOKE TO HIM PERSONALLY!! He told me it wouldn't be a problem representing you and resolving your divorce quickly. He said we'll just get her on default and it'll be over. He said he'll only charge me $750 because I had already did most of the work. THIS IS A FLAT FEE!! I filed the petition myself, had my ex wife served because she refused to sign the original petition. I told him she signed the petition I had her served with and filed it on the final day of the 20 day grace period. He then passes me on to his case MANAGER. I started with his case manager DAVID BONILLA... told him the same thing I told carpenter. Now carpenter never told DAVID anything that we talked about. So I had to explain my case to him all over again. He was so motivated to get me to pay the $750 so they can start my case. His secretary Emma told me to set up the portal since i've paid my $750. She said don't contact the attorney because it will charge you for their time. She said message thru the portal only. A week later I have to call DAVID back because no one contacted me after my payment. He then tells me he forgot what my case was about and that he'll put someone on my case and they'll contact me. I then receive a message from Jennifer Scherf and she says she'll be working on my case. She asked me all the same questions that DAVID BONIILA HAD ASKED. She requested I send all documents to her because they didn't have them on file. Now I have emails that DAVID said he received all my documents I emailed to him. But carpenter and DAVID never told Jennifer any info about my case. So she starts asking all these questions that I've already explained to her bosses. She then doesn't communicate for days after I had answered all her questions. I then emailed David to find out what's going on with my case, nobody has communicated with me. He said he will let Jennifer know. Hours later I receive a text message from Jennifer. She said she was very busy and been in court all week. So then she tells me I'm passing your case off to a new attorney that has joined our firm, her name is Angela. ATTENTION!!! ALL PREVIOUS REVIEWS SAID THEY'VE DONE THIS TO THEM ALSO!! PLEASE READ ALL HIS REVIEWS!! NOW I'M EXPLAINING MY CASE ALL OVER AGAIN BECAUSE NOBODY EXPLAINS ANYTHING TO THEIR ASSOCIATES AT THIS FIRM!! THEN SHE ASK ME TO SEND ALL MY PAPER WORK TO HER!! THE WHOLE TIME I'M BEING CHARGED FOR EMAILING AND FAXING THESE DOCUMENTS! They never did any work to look up my documents, or pass my original emails and faxes along to this so called manager attorney. BUT THEY'RE CHARGING ME FOR DRAFTING!! I was told by Jennifer that Tarrant county was different from the counties they usually service, so they can't see my documents in the system. So now it's my job to send them everything so i can be charged for all this communicating. Now I'm being charged again to communicate with this new attorney about my case. She then tells me she didn't know my wife signed the original petition.... even though she was served and I told everybody I have copies of the answer. SHE THEN SAYS THEY have to take a different route and whatever price they quoted you will change. So I tell her to stop working on my case until I talk to carpenter. I called Jennifer because now she is the manager of the attorney. She emails me later saying they've spent 9 hours on my case and they charge $300 a hour. She said we didn't know your wife filed an answer to the petition. I TOLD EVERYBODY I HAD HER SERVED AND SHE SIGNED ON THE FINAL DAY OF THE GRACE PERIOD!! ALL LIES BECAUSE I HAVE EVERY EMAIL AND TEXT MESSAGE OF ME TELLING YOU GUYS!! Then she says if we go to meditation then THAT'LL be 4-5 more hours of OUR time ON YOUR CASE. ATTENTION!!! $750 WAS MY FLAT FEE AND THEY'VE BEEN CHARGING ME $300 A HOUR... FROM EMAILS AND FAXES!! NO ONE HAS EVEN TOLD THE COURT THAT THEIR REPRESENTING ME BECAUSE ME AND MY EX WIFE WENT TO THE COURT HOUSE TO SEE IF THEY HAD LET THE COURT KNOW. SO IT'S NOT ON RECORD THEY WERE REPRESENTING ME!! My ex wife has not been notified with any documents or anything and they've had my case for almost 2 months. So now I've stop using them and I receive a bill for $2100 in the mail!! FOR WHAT??!! YOU'VE DONE NOTHING FOR ME BUT WASTED MY TIME!! When I stopped using them there was a balance of $490... Which should have been deducted from the $750. But only $318 was deducted and that was for them reviewing my documents when I first sent them.I TOOK PICTURES OF EVERY CHARGE ON THE APP!! I suggest everybody keep record of everything from these crooks. I'm currently filing suit against carpenter & associates and everybody who has experienced this should also.
