We had Carpenter &Smith replace our 275 gallon oil tank. This was a two day process as on the second day they had to add a post to protect the tank. The first two technicians worked through the heat wave all day and were professional. However I think after a long hot day the final details were rushed and not to my satisfaction. In the garage the oil line was long, and not secured to ceiling. The same line Inside the house went diagonally down the wall in the most obnoxious manner. I called the company and stated my concerns. Julien # 696 was the new technician sent. He understood my concerns, and took great care in addressing the stated issues. Instead of trying to fix what was done, he started over and was able to run the oil line in the most discrete manner in both the garage and inside the house . We have been using Carpenter and Smith since we lived in our home for approximately 18 years now. My parents used C&S for their home as well. The customer service is exceptional! The customer service department is VERY kind and informative. When an oil delivery is requested, they typically deliver within less than 48 hours. Just recently, we had an issue that required immediate attention. I called C&S after standard business hours and Ron (C&S technician) assured me that he would be at our house to address the problem no matter how late it was. Hearing Ron's voice on the phone that night, I knew that everything was going to be okay. He arrived shortly after 10:00pm and indeed he fixed the issue. Sadly, I am ending a relationship that has lasted almost 47 years - longer than many marriages. I am leaving Carpenter and Smith's service area and can only hope to find an equally responsive provider of product and services for my new home. Throughout the years that Carpenter and Smith delivered fuel and maintained a service contract, they were reliable and professional, not just addressing but anticipating my needs. The office staff - particularly Carrie Ann - went out of their way to ensure that I had peace of mind thanks to a heating system that performed well. Mike was here for my yearly heating and a/c check. Heat was no problem but the Fujitsu mini-split was having issues. Mike diagnosed it as low refrigerant which required a new service call. Jim #708 came out and explained how the system needed to be purged, refrigerant weighed, re-pressurized with nitrogen to detect any leaks, and then refilled to proper refrigerant weight. He inspected the tubing in the crawl space of the house and located a loose connection at the outside unit. He did his best at cost containment on an expensive job and kept me abreast of what was happening on this half-day-long job that was all labor and materials. read more

I've been with Carpenter&Smith since 1997 and have enjoyed their quality services throughout the years. Everything from a frozen oil tank on a -4 degree morning, to the installation of my new boiler and water heater. I just call and they are usually there within the hour. Their customer service is friendly and top notch along with their technicians who are very knowledgeable and courteous. It's hard to find a company with that kind of commitment to quality service and I just want to say, thank you for all times you came to my rescue over the years. Jim and Bryce were amazing! While initially I thought my tank was out of oil, the men were able to see that the boiler needing a new part is what triggered an auto shut off. They got right to work. The men were very kind, professional and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend.
