I had an unopened 30 lb bag of dog food I wanted to donate. I first called West Valley Animal Shelter to ask if they take good donations. I was #46 in the que, so I Yelped animal rescues and this was the first on the list. I called and the woman, Eileen, answered. Lovely, friendly lady who explained what they do. They have been helping rescues for many years and have drop off point all over the valley. They accept food, toys, towels and blankets for rescue shelters that need. I plan to donate some blankets soon and hope others help out too.

Their communications are consistent and they make it easy to donate, as well as easy to pause donations if needed. They are open every week on Wednesday's and Thursdays from 9-11am and Saturday's from 8-10am. Every week there are different opportunities given to participate in whether it involves bagging rice, beans or fruit or packing care packages which are sent to local churches or out to different countries for those in need. Every helping hand makes a difference so feel free to try it out one day and spread the word!

It is so nice to see that the community is gathered here to mingle and socialize while enjoying a good game. This place is managed by a nice guy named Frank. There are currently 75 teams consisting of more than 700 participants ranging in age from 4-years-old to adults. You could imagine how busy it gets here when the tournament starts. On Fridays, field is FREE for all youth skaters and all goalies and equipment are FREE! However, this is an outdoor hockey rink which could get really hot for the players and spectators especially in the peak of summer. The way it was designed doesn't allow the bench to be placed somewhere else so spectators prefer watching the games under the shade of trees nearby. There's no locker available for players but there are fountains and rest rooms. On a positive note, there's lots of inside parking as well as street parking. There's two picnic areas available. Sad to say, the place is going through a rough time right now. This place needs a serious repair for safety of the players due to the old boards and pavements. The program is slated to be cut from Burbank Parks and Recs. which could mean a shut down of the place. We, residents of Burbank are still hoping that the city will find other means to keep this place running.

I stopped by one day while two teams of kids with exceptionally fancy foot work, shuffled around in full gear, whacking a puck from side to side. It's fully lit at night and has a small seating area for family and fans. The rink is caged in high fencing for safety. I don't know very much at all about hockey, but I think this is a great addition to our neighborhood park. It promotes coordination, team play and healthy choices. A++ Burbank! From what I gather, this rink is available for use by permit only. I'm not sure of rates or details, just that it's a really well kept little gem in the BURBS.

However, this middle age woman stopped me that it's not good time right now. Making or grabbing a cup of coffee is not good time!!!! Not sure who put her in charge of break room. Huge turn off, I am not in her house or personal space!!!! I will be returning to volunteer , but will avoid her.

This non-profit is so close to my heart. They have shipped thousands & thousands of care packages to our war soldiers for many years. But whenever our community needs help... they are always there for them!! Thanks to all the donors and volunteers for donating items and their valuable times to help out. It is all about "team work"!! Operation Gratitude brings our communities together, doing meaningful things for other people.

My son and I were invited to 2 baby showers within 2 months a part. Different people. Service by the employees were impeccable. They were all nice, friendly and helpful. All ladies and gentlemen were on top of things to make sure everything was up to par. You can have any type of events from baby shower to wedding, to birthdays, baptism, to engagement parties, holiday gatherings, bridal showers and more. You can also bring your own food. I don't know if they provide that for their guests.Venue visits are by appointment only!!. They are open for Private event rentals, accommodate up to 150 guests. They also do volunteer Services to schools, libraries, churches and hospitals. As mentioned earlier each package is different with their pricing. Depending on what you are interested in. The hardest thing for me not many can guide you or inform you the people to take you to temporary housing and then permanent housing. Majority of people are not aware of the process it is not instant and takes time for myself and my brother it's almost a year and finding out people discriminate on the homeless whether it's a racist issue or stereo types it is sad we need kindness forward to try to make a little impact of a smile and saying good morning no one is better than other but the true kindness of the heart is priceless.
