We were getting our whole house re-carpeted. We had talked with Shelly several times on the phone and arranged a time for her to visit the house to make estimates, recommendations on the job. She has about 20 years experience in the job and she helped us make the remaining decisions, and she took the measurements she needed for an accurate estimate of cost ($70 fee for the visit and estimate, refundable upon commitment to the project). The job included removal and hauling away the old carpeting. A couple weeks later the crew arrived with the carpet and right away I took the crew leader around to see all the rooms that were to be recarpeted. He raised no objections to any part of the work (I don't know how many years he'd been doing this work). Turns out though, upon completion, the carpet selected did not function properly in the largest room, as the room had been carpeted in a much flatter carpet and they were installing carpet with medium pile and backing. The 3 doors would not work and could not even be re-hung following carpet installation. One of the 3 doors had even suffered some damage when they had tried to force it to work over the new carpet. We were told this problem was our own fault as the homeowners, no matter that we had never in our lives contracted for recarpeting in any house. The company's experts (Shelly and head of installation crew) saw what we had, knew what we wanted and ordered, but took no responsibility for selecting and installing a carpet that would not work in that room. They insisted on full payment for the work and no compensation to correct door issues. So much for the assumption of expertise gained with 20 years experience. They claimed in the end to have less knowledge about the carpeting job than homeowners (who had bought home ten years earlier with the carpet that was still there prior to their work). They threatened a lawsuit and lien on the property if not paid in full. read more

We decided while preparing our house to go to market that we needed new carpeting asap. we weren't terribly happy going with some of the chains in the past so we were looking for an alternative. Shelley came out to do an estimate and to show us the products. She was friendly and professional, very knowledgeable and helped us choose the best product and color. She also didn't try to upsell us which is always appreciated. We chose a product that they keep in stock (and they keep it in stock because it is the most popular product/color and for very good reason-it goes with everything! She said that if we wanted something different she could have it ordered and it would arrive in a week or so) so their willingness and ability to accomodate a last minute request was amazing and we had our new carpet installed in a week. They even came a day early. The install went quickly and pretty seamlessly and I have already recommended them to a friend who is wanting new carpets as well. I was a repeat customer with Carpet Connection "CC" having used them in 2015 and was thrilled with them. I reached out to them on 5/17/23 with a carpet job of my family room. I am not sure what happened, but my experience this time was much different. I finally had to terminate the relationship on 6/16/23 getting as far as accepting the material and installation invoices but waiting for the rep to call me to get cc payment. I had issues with original invoice, minor spelling correction of last name (no big deal), address correction (bigger deal). At one point during the process, I got a text from the rep that said "Perhaps we are not a good fit for your needs" on 6/12/23. After this text, the response time went downhill. Towards the end of the relationship, emails/texts were responded after 24-36 hours from the rep which pushed out the delivery and installation date. I had new furniture being delivered in mid-July so new carpet needed to be installed prior to that. On 6/16/23, after signing the contract but no return call/text on how to pay (waited 31 hours for a call back to collect cc payment, on a weekday, not weekend), I had to terminate them. Strangely enough, when I texted the rep on 6/16/23 that I would be searching elsewhere for my carpet, she responded within 20 minutes saying that it "sounded good. Glad you found something that will look great in your place" (but she couldn't find the time in 31 hours to call me for a credit card number but responded with this text in 20 minutes upon termination????). I called the owner twice during this and she called me back after my first call (5/17/23) and was wonderful and reassuring. The second voice mail (on 6/12/23 after the strange text of 'not being the right fit' which I relayed to the owner in my voice mail) wasn't returned which was my attempt to see if the owner would be willing to process my order since we were so close at that time to finalizing everything. Never heard back from her. The good news is that I found a carpet company who had my new carpet installed within 2 weeks and my new sectional was delivered the day after the installation. I see many good reviews so my belief is that the personalities didn't mesh well here (between me and the rep). Other than this experience, my prior experience in 2015 was wonderful and the product was good. read more

We have used Carpet Connection for every carpeted room in our house. Originally the experience was great, which is why we went with them a 2nd time. This time the installers did not install carpet on the sides of the stairs as needed. I have been calling to have this corrected for 8 months. Multiple times I was told that they would charge me $50 for the installers to come back out and correct...now, after continuously calling to get this worked out and being ignored I talked to Shelly today and she told me it would be $150. She immediately started yelling at me on the phone and told me it was our responsibility. When I asked if she had notes from the months of previous calls she said it was also my responsibility to take notes and ultimately hung up on me. Terrible customer service!!!! read more

While my experience with this company started out as a 5, it quickly dropped to a 2. I would've said 1 (or an F) if the carpet didn't actually come in. First off, Shelly was more keen on telling us how cheap they are rather than how good the carpet is. Secondly, we had recently carpeted one room, and needed the others to match. We had it narrowed down to 2 samples that made good matches. However, the carpet that was ordered wasn't even close. It certainly wasn't one of the 2 possibilities. What was worse, Shelly totally yelled at me, and ultimately hung up the phone on me, when I felt it wasn't my responsibility to understand mill numbers. I made a snide comment about "A on Angie's list, whatever!!" That was the point where she hung up, but called back in ~2 minutes to work it out. This is why she gets a 2 instead of a 1. She did make it work, all the while making it seem like she was doing me a favor. The carpet came in quickly and was beautiful. However, we had all furniture moved out of 3 bedrooms and closets for over 2 weeks. That part was a nightmare.... I would NOT call them again, nor would I recommend them to anyone. read more

The company truly offers an incredible service. They were attentive to our carpeting needs--Michelle was efficient in her consultation and narrowed down exactly what we were looking for without droning through sample after sample.
