We had a positive experience in this store, and as there are quite a few negative reviews- felt I needed to leave mine. We stopped in to see if they had carpet padding- to go under my area rugs. Home Depot also has padding, but theirs is lower quality and will flake apart when I cut it to the size of my rugs. Also, the pad they sell here has a layer on top to keep everything together that the other kind I looked at didn't have. It comes in 6' rolls, so for my larger rugs, I'll have to tape them together- which is common practice in the carpet industry apparently. The guy we talked to was super helpful, and even helped us locate the Big R store (across the street) that we were looking for in the first place. I was very happy that we happened across this store, especially because some other carpet store we tried to go to had closed at 4pm, and we missed them by 15 minutes. I read more

In my opinion don't bother with them. The installation was the worst. Not only was it installed incorrectly but the installers ruined my walls and some of my trim. I called the store and they wanted pictures which I sent but no word. I also talked to one of the main office and left a message and e-mail but never got a return call. Now, less than 6 months later the carpet is frayed and pulling up all over. An embarrassment to anybody visiting. read more

Don't bother stopping here. Store manager ...,was the only employee working and the store was empty of customers. It's no wonder as the guy was a total ass! I knew what I was shopping for and he tells me they don't make multi color pattern carpet, really? You mean like this one, and the one, and this one... I say as I pull out samples of what they "don't make." I ask for a sample of a pattern I like and he says they don't have samples, or sample boards to check out. Really??? Huh. Unlike every other flooring competitor out there. So I walked out on him and to a shop that actually wanted to sell carpet. Because he was able and willing to work with us and turn around a potentially negative experience, we were able to get the exact carpet we wanted and love. I'd also like to send thanks to our installers. It was a very long day, but they stuck with it and did a terrific job. I went to Carpet Mill in Thornton for my basement remodel carpet. Around 800 sqft. Everything had gone smoothly until they incorrectly measured my carpet, and the carpet installer had to tell me they didnt have enough carpet for the stairs. I called the store, the guy I worked with was able to order the remaining carpet but then completely FAILED to follow up to ensure it had been installed. It took 6 WEEKS to get 6 stairs carpeted. The customer service is appalling. Steer very clear of this location and take your business elsewhere. read more

I had needed new carpet for a very long time so when I was at the Denver Garden and Home Show, I stopped at the Carpet Mill booth. I met Tim Hilfer, general sales manager. He was very polite and took time with me to choose a carpet. He later came to my home to measure and confirm my selection. When the Carpet Mill installers came, they again onfirmed my selection, and I went off to work. Adrian and his crew did a FABULOUS job installing my carpet. When I walked into my home, I was overjoyed!! I feel like I have a new home!! Great carpet at a great price with great service...What more could you ask for?? Most people have no problem leaving a review when it's to complain about something buy not too many take the time to leave reviews when they are happy with the service that was provided. I dont know anything about past experiences or who used to work here, but I assure you it's very different now. Ask for Justin and I promise you wont regret it. He is extremely knowledgable and upfront about everything, no surprises. He will over see your project from start to finish. The service provided is unmatched, and remember people that's really what we are paying for is service, and to get great service doesnt always translate to the absolute lowest price. Consumerism is at an all time high and thanks to the internet price shopping everything has become the new norm, meaning retailers have to lower prices to stay competitive but with lower prices comes less qualified employees which equals less quality of service. I had Mario from Carpet Mill Outlet in Thornton come out to measure my home. I wanted tile, hardwood and carpet. Mario completely over measured. He more than doubled my floor space while leaving out my bathroom. I will never use or recommend Carpet Mill Outlet. read more

We decided to replace our carpet with hardwood and chose Carpet Mill Outlet as they were having a great 2 year interest free finance deal and the salesman Mario was very helpful. We love the flooring and the installation crew were great, working late into the evening to complete the job. HOWEVER, we feel we were completely lied to about the costing of the stairs. Throughout the entire process we were quoted $100 per stair (which is actually significantly more than their competitors charge). Changing carpet to hardwood, it is obvious that both the tread and the riser would need replacing and therefore we understood the $100 would cover the entire stair. At no point were we informed that there would actually be an additional price for the installation of the riser. Once the tread was fitted, we were informed there would be a significant additional cost if we wanted risers installed. I tried to work with the supervisors/managers who didn't answer my emails or return my calls. We ended up paying $600 that we did not expect to pay. Please learn from our experience and clarify the definition of a 'stair' and the associated cost or use a company that is more willing to be transparent about their pricing. read more

The assistant manager was the rudest person I ever met. When a piece of carpet accidentally rolled onto the floor he rolled his eyes at me not once but twice. He tried to tell me my square footage was 200 more square feet than it actually is (I too can do math.) and then he told me to go back to where I got my first estimate because he could not come close. However the owner at Abbey Floors just down the street was more than accommodating, quoted a great price and likely got a sale. Maybe 3k-4k is just not worthy of good service at Carpet Mill in Thornton. read more

I can't stress enough how awful this store is. The customer service is very poor and the carpet installers do poor work. My carpet was not stretched property and had a big bubble in it. There response was, "nobody will see it anyway". Really that's their answer. This disregard for quality work starts at the store and goes way up to top management. Do NOT give them your business. This store is severely under staffed so good luck getting them to be of much help. I had them carpet my whole house about 12 years or so ago and so about a month ago I decided to paint some rooms and get new carpet again and since I had a good experience back then I decided to use them again making me a repeat customer and had to do it one room at a time as I don't have room to store all my furniture while waiting so I got 2 of the rooms carpeted without any problems. when I called on Wednesday to get the third room done the same salesman who's name I won't mention couldn't come out to take measurements so he said he could do it Thursday which he did. He said he was off Friday and would call me with a price Saturday so when he never called I called him and he said they were swamped and didn't get to it yet he would try to call later in the day. We went there that evening and there were no customers there and he still said he was too busy it would probably be Monday before he would do the pricing. So he basically just blew me off I was in line from Thursday so the first thing he should have done Saturday was my estimate and since he blew me off I just went to carpet exchange and gave them the job and now I will never step foot in the Carpet Mill Outlet store again because the simply don't care about their customers read more
