I had the carpeting on our stairs and upstairs hallway replaced by Carpetland USA in Pewaukee. Overall they did a great job with one exception. After speaking to several people on several occasions I was finally referred to Emory. He was very pleasant and took the time to fully understand my concern. He was great at keeping me informed and discussing options that would be satisfactory to both of us. He sent Lenny out to take a look at my concern and to do what he could to resolve the issue. Lenny was able to fix the problem in very little time with an outcome way beyond and more favorable then even what I was willing to accept to resolve the issue. Emory send the right person out for the job. Because of their willingness to resolve the issue and the speed in which it was done, I am giving them a 5 star rating. Mistakes happen but resolving them in a kind, professional and positive manner is what I as a customer appreciates and expects and makes Carpetland USA in Pewaukee deserve the best rating possible. read more

Carpetland installed the wrong color carpet throughout our home in early July. Their own claim identified it as "Wrong color." After months of trying to get what we actually paid for (we are now in September) their final solution is that we either pay them $4,358.45 to keep a striped carpet we never chose and do not want, or let them remove the carpet and pad and leave us with bare subfloor. We paid $8,716.89 for Karastan Yorkshire Trace in Hazel, selected from Carpetland's samples. What was installed did not match what we purchased. Early on, Carpetland offered us a discount to simply keep the incorrect carpet. We declined because we were not looking for cheaper flooring. We wanted the carpet we chose and paid for. Instead, correcting their mistake consumed most of our summer. We dealt with months of delays, shifting blame, changing timelines, poor follow-through, repeatedly chasing their team for updates, and ultimately, they were unsuccessful in providing the right carpet. The way we were treated made an already awful situation worse. We found the communication by Mike Nielsen (the Pewaukee store manager) repeatedly dismissive and patronizing. Our concerns felt minimized and it seemed burden was repeated shifted to the customer move the claim along. When we raised thoughtful concerns about putting our new padding through removal and installation, the response included rude commentary about us creating landfill waste. After months spent trying to correct their wrong-color installation, they advised us to "stay away from linear patterns" in the future, as though our design choice was the problem rather than the wrong product color. We still gave them months and multiple opportunities to fix it and when the replacement carpet rolls still did not match the Hazel samples, Carpetland ultimately agreed they could not fulfill the order with the chosen color. So after spending most of our summer cooperating with their attempts to correct the problem, we have ended up essentially back at the option we rejected in the beginning. We either pay thousands of dollars and keep striped carpet we never chose or rip up our home again and leave us worse off than when we started. Their solution to remove the carpet and pad now feels retaliatory and incredibly frustrating. From our perspective, it is difficult to understand what practical purpose that serves when we cannot imagine used carpet removed from our home being realistically reused or resold. After previously receiving commentary about landfill waste, the option also feels ironically wasteful. We just want to walk away with something that feels fair at this point. Yet, we feel we are still the ones being asked to pay for their mistakes, either with more than $4,300 for the wrong carpet or by letting them rip up the carpet and leave us with subfloor. Before spending thousands with Carpetland, read their BBB reviews and other negative customer experiences, especially those where problems arise. I wish we had done that first. read more

had a large carpet replacement project. looked for good sales help with educating us and helping us make a good choice. also worked with KERNS for comparison. Picked Carpetland because they were a couple of hundred dollars cheaper. Mistake. customer service is poor, maybe because the workers are part time. Installers laid carpet on the driveway (facedown) for cutting, minimal sweep and clean prep, damaged the paint on three walls, damaged a heat floor register. much more to tell. I will start that we had 2 projects (one at a rental and primary home) that occurred the same week. Kris was great to work with both and made things go quickly getting the new carpet after basement flooded. Both installs went great too. The issue was that on our rental project, I received an email/text with a link for the remaining balance on the day project was completed. This was paid at time it was received. For our home, I did not receive this link (and was waiting). Project was completed on Thursday evening but on Monday received a phone call asking for payment and asked if they would send the invoice and I will pay it. Instead Debra Nowak sends a condescending email with a copy of the invoice and "according to the agreement that I agreed to pay at time of installation," and where to mail the check. I then called the store and asked for email/text to be sent with the link, which is was sent within 10 mins and paid in less than 2 minutes of it being received. It is not my fault that there is not a standard of procedure with Carpetland for collecting remaining balances and that apparently how you collect payment is different from project to project. It is not my fault that Debra apparently did not listen or understand when spoke on the phone asking for the link to be sent and then sent an unprofessional email. We had used Carpetland multiple times and had a good experience but this interaction with Debra really will make me rethink about returning to Carpetland in the future projects with our properties. read more

I was/am shocked at the horrible quality of the install of my new kitchen floor (high end PVC). it was a smaller job, just the kitchen and a small mud room. the installers where supposed to be here at 9 am... no show, no call, nothing. I called my contractor, who called carpet land.. he called me back saying they got behind on another job and would be here tomorrow ( this after taking a day off from work to be here for them), then at 7:30 that same night some guy is knocking at my door, says.. ' I'm here to put your floor in' .. I'm having dinner, with my girlfriend! I sent him away saying you're 12 hours late, come back tomorrow. the next day, two guys show up ( an hour late), neither can speak English, I let them in (had to take ANOTHER day off at work), they start installing, cutting and sawing and I'm like.. what the heck are they cutting with hack saws? I come to the kitchen to check on them and asked.. did you lay the vapor barrier? "no comprende senior" I'm like wow... I can't even communicate with these guys...after they left I inspected, as I walked across the floor I litterally bounced because of low spots. it sounded like I was walking on top of a drum. i inspected and found the ruined all the quarter round trim, cut with hack saws the bottom of to door frames free hand ( see pics) it looked like a 10 yr old did it. I called to complain and three days later they came back to re-install...I find out they hadn't prepped the conCrete floor under the new pvp floor (there where cracks and big low spots, diviots from pulling out concrete nails). they didn't cut angled pieces to fit up to the cabinets (tried to cover the joint with quarter round). the repeat install was a little better, but the damage was done on the door frames and quarter round. i wrote the owner, Dave Brown, to complain and don't even get a 'sorry about this, we'll fix it' reply.. no reply at all... obviously he doesn't give a crap. I wouldn't use this place again if they paid ME! Four vacation days, and a horrible install, results for a lot of money. We live 7 minutes from the West Allis location and got barely 5 minutes of the sales woman's time when we went in to shop so although we got a few samples the 20 minute drive to this location after talking to Scott on the phone was WELL worth it. received a quote and had a few options from sales person. Once we decided which flooring to go with, We called to order and ask to take off the T-molds and when we received the new updated quote it was more expensive. which doesn't make sense, sales person said they quoted the original one incorrectly. They should honor the quote that was provided, how do you run a business like this. Sales person Jacyln should not be doing that job noone wants to hear you complain about you had to modify a few quotes for a customer. unacceptable customer service. not to mention the old bait and switch because sales person said they misquoted it. I dont recommend this place, she even told me she would see if they could get best installers as some are not the best. who says that to a customer. read more

We used Carpetland via our home builder, and we would never recommend them. Our negative experience with Carpetland ranged from grossly being underquoted, slow and poor communication, dreadful customer service, and extremely poor installation quality and craftsmanship. Our master shower looked awful with crooked tiles, crooked Schluter trim, grout in the texture of the tiles, and very bad installation of the pebble floor. Unfortunately, the issues weren't strictly cosmetic, as four months after moving into our house we had water damage due to incorrect installation of the water barrier. In fixing this issue, we also found out that the shower bench was framed incorrectly as well as the water barrier wasn't installed properly under it, and the pebble floor was placed directly on the subfloor with zero slope, and thus the water could not get to the drain. There were five gallons of water trapped underneath the bench/pebble flooring as a result, within the year we would have had major water damage in our walls. Trying to get Carpetland to fix our shower was a painful four-month process in which we endured little to no communication, lack of responsibility, a myriad of problems, and a severe lack of urgency. We're flabbergasted and appalled by how incredibly awful the water leaking/damage was handled. It's inconceivable that such an issue would take four months and even worse that we would have to pay additional money to get their mistakes fixed correctly. We recently replaced all the carpeting in our house (1600+ square feet) using Carpetland of Pewaukee, and were very happy with the project and the results. Their quote was the best overall, considering product quality, price and installation timeline, and the crew of 3 that day was great. They arrived early (when does that ever happen?) and worked with barely a break to get the job done in one day. We were expecting it to take 2 days, which would have been fine. The end result looks great. They charge per room to move the furniture, but even with that, their quote was the most fair. read more

Do not use Carpetland! Had nothing but problems with our installation with them. Worked with Mike, who ordered the wrong amount of carpet for our job. This was not discovered until the day before they were to come and install. So was only able to do part of the job. So had to reschedule an installation for a week out with no compensation or anything from their part to help correct the issue. They will now not take out the shelving unit in the walk in closet (although this was discussed when measurements were made and included in the estimate). Now stuck having to proceed since the installers cut the existing carpet in the closet so carpet is now torn thanks to them. Needless to say they do shady business practices and are liars. When they do make mistakes, then you (customer) are expected to bend over backwards to make it work. Would recommend going somewhere else to buy carpet/installation. read more

well i sent one review through, now i am puzzled more the tile floor i had done the grout is cracked now in a lot of spots. I had about 600 sq ft of tile laid down and about 6oo sq ft of carpet so i called David again at the Waukesha store. Right now i think they have a lot to show me and do for me now. Just really confused here, with spending lot of big money not just a thousand or so a lot more. so i hope this gets taken care of soon just like my broken tv that they cracked the screen on, so we will see what happens if they do my full bath now. read more
