As I walked to the material I needed to load, one of the young men walked over to me and asked if I needed help. I'm sporting a cane post knee surgery. The young man loaded my item into my truck. At this point, both introduced themselves. I thanked them, and then I told them I had been purchasing flooring from Bartz for 40 years. they thanked me for being a loyal customer. We need more young people like this!! I will continue to do business with Bartz and refer my friends to them!!

The Tile Shop provided a referral to us for shower work. The "contractor" they referred, Tom, has…read morenow cost us thousands in repairs and re-work. He patchily grouted the shower and never caulked, water is behind and under the tile now. He never even sealed! He then tiled the floors to match, and never fully grouted leaving holes. He also failed to take out the old floor, elevating the new floor significantly causing a trip hazard at each of the thresholds. He had to cut down our very expensive six panel oak doors so they would fit on the new floors, but he cut them so poorly. They are now jagged and stripping at the bottom. We have a new contractor coming in to do the work again, but it's going to cost us thousands and thousands more because now he has to demo and we have to buy new doors. We paid him in full, (stupid, I know) and then he stopped responding to our calls and texts, because my husband called him "unprofessional" for being non-responsive and not doing the work properly. I could cry. Beware of Tile Shop referrals.

The contractor took forever to complete the project and when I went to return some items they would not refund my money because the items were purchased more than 60 days prior. in addition, they would not take back an open box of tile with about 40 tiles in it. I had no problem returning individual tiles at TWO "Big Box" stores. I'm not sure why I paid more for the tile but got less service. in the future, I will save money and get better service by using a big box store. Super disappointing.

Scratched trim: I've used Best Carpet a few times over the…read moreyears, and overall I'm happy with the price and the quality. I recently used them to install new carpet in several rooms of my house. The quality and price were again satisfactory, but the crew did a number on my baseboard trim. I had it looking perfect with any scuffs removed and painting done (I did this prior to install so I wouldn't get anything on the new carpet). Upon completion I saw it was scuffed, dinged, and scratched up. Using the email on their website, I sent them an email with my concerns as well as photos. I included the job information and my contact information. The next day the email bounced back as undeliverable. I called them and again expressed my concerns. They stated the email address on their website was outdated and gave me the new one. I was told to email them again including the photos. I again emailed them, but two weeks later have yet to hear back. I guess the check cleared so they no longer care? I had to spend several hours with magic eraser and paint trying to undo the mess they made. The actual scratches into the wood of course can't be undone. See attached photos.

I cannot say enough about the skill of the young man that did the the sanding and refinishing. The floors look beautiful and match pretty darn good considering the wood in the hallway is 25 years old. I would highly recommend this company and will certainly use them again.
