    Chicken quesadilla.

Consistently delicious Mexican (Tex Mex?). Guacamole, a baby burrito / tinga. (No pics of these as I got distracted by hunger). I asked for all flour chips (decadent but hey!) Enough breeze to sit on the patio. Swift business on an early Friday night.

My first time visiting Carrburritos and I liked it, but didn't absolutely love it. However, it could be my fault. I have a tendency to panic order when I haven't had ample time to pre-stalk a menu, sad but true . I'll start from the beginning with the full experience. Parking-definitely painful as the lot is TINY. Not holding this against them, but just want to mention. We got lucky on a summer Tuesday afternoon when regular semester (Fall/Spring) classes for UNC aren't in session. I imagine during those times it's impossible to get a spot. This day we got lucky! Ambiance/Decor- super cool! Love the vibrancy of tables and eclectic decorations. Location- The spot is located down the sidewalk toward the back of the parking lot, look for the EAT sign! Ordering- You order at the counter, and the menu hangs above. I think this is where my panic set in. I went with a burrito because obviously..and like I said, I liked it, but I didn't love it. Food-I got the Mejor Burrito with shredded beef, it's like their traditional burrito but with guacamole and sour cream. Next time I'll probably go with the basic one. The chips were delicious, I have to say. You can tell (most of them) are homemade. It seemed like they were mixed in with other perhaps not homemade? chips. But also could just be difference in consistency or texture of the chips. Either way, very good. The queso was also super tasty. You also can choose 2-3 salsas to go with your chips. The chipotle salsa was yummy. Prices- I think my biggest gripe would be the prices. Now, I did order a side of queso for around $4 which obviously made it a bit more expensive, but after tip I spent $25. Not a major complaint, don't get me wrong, but I think since the prices weren't listed on the menu that hangs in the restaurant (I'm sure they are on the printed menu), I wasn't expecting to pay that much. Again, not a deterrence, and I don't mind paying for delicious food, but since I wasn't overly impressed I was just taken aback. I'll definitely give it another go, and maybe order something different next time. My friend that took me here absolutely loves it and frequents it often, so I'll certainly go back and I would recommend it to someone else! I've got to try to one of those margaritas! I blame myself for lack of research beforehand, so don't hold this against them!

My wife and I were really impressed with Carrburritos. This place is great. It's the best taqueria we've been to in the Triangle to date. The food is fresh, homemade, and delicious. Service is superb. We also enjoyed the casual, laid-back, hip vibe and the 80s/indie music they played. This restaurant would do well anywhere. The Carrboro-Chapel Hill area is lucky to have it. It's been around since 1997. On the surface, Carrburritos may look like another run-of-the-mill neighborhood taqueria, but once you try the food, you'll realize these guys are on another level and a step above the competition. At least, that was our experience. Off the top of my head, I can't think of another taqueria/Mexican joint nearby that comes close. I can think of several decent/good ones, but among them, this one is the best. The restaurant is hidden near the intersection of E Main St (W Franklin St if coming from Chapel Hill) and W Rosemary St. There are actually two entrances, one from either street. The main entrance is from W Rosemary St. Carrburritos shares a two-story building with other tenants. The building has its own dedicated parking lot. Carrburritos has assigned spaces, but there are only a few. You can park on the street and in the municipal gravel lot across the street at the corner of Rosemary and Sunset. We parked in that lot for free. The restaurant isn't huge, but the dining room is big enough and there are two patios. During our visit, the menu featured burritos, tacos (2 for $8), quesadillas (about $7-10 each), nachos, tostadas (about $8-10 each), tilapia, and sides like chips and salsa ($5.50) and chips and guac ($8.50). "Fillings" included meats like carnitas and pollo asado (grilled chicken) and other items such as grilled veggies and pure de papas (mashed sweet potatoes with caramelized onions). The chorizo (spicy pork sausage) is made in-house so that's what we went with. We got one order of the Nachos with Chorizo ($10.75) and one Chorizo Burrito Mejor ($11.50). The nachos came with Monterey Jack cheese, black beans, sour cream, jalapenos, and salsa fresca. The burrito came with black beans (pinto beans was also an option), cheese, rice, lettuce, salsa fresca, guacamole, and sour cream. Carrburritos offers three types of burritos. The "Mejor" that we got is the type that comes with the most ingredients. Guac and sour cream only come in the Mejor. The nachos and burrito tasted fresh and delicious. The quality of the ingredients was excellent. The portion sizes were generous and filling. The proportions of ingredients were well-balanced and to our liking. They didn't skimp on any chorizo, which was savory and succulent. The food really hit the spot. Well-made, well-executed with quality ingredients. One detail we like about Carrburritos is they serve two kinds of tortilla chips: flour and corn. A lot of restaurants offer flour and corn tortillas (e.g., for tacos), but not when it comes to chips. I loved Carrburritos' flour chips. They had terrific taste and texture. They were a little thicker than the corn chips, had a delectable, addictive flavor to them, and they kind of melted in our mouths. I forgot to mention a small pile of both flour and corn chips comes with each burrito. Also, the nachos consisted of both flour and corn chips. Carrburritos also has amazing salsas which are made in-house daily. The salsas are kept behind the counter and must be requested from the staff, unlike a self-serve salsa bar. If you dine in, you can ask for as many as you want. To-go, you get three then it's $0.50 each (2-ounce servings) after that. They have six kinds of salsa. We tried four: Fresca (tomato, jalapeno, cilantro, lemon), Verde (tomatillos, mild chilis, and cilantro), Frutas (pineapple, jalapeno, cilantro), and Tomatillo Arbol (toasted arbol chilis with tomatillos and garlic). My wife liked the sweet and tangy Frutas the best. I liked it the least. I liked the Fresca, Verde, and Tomatillo Arbol equally. The latter had an enjoyable kick to it. All of the salsas were fresh and packed with flavor. Fantastic. I also ordered Ceviche ($8.75). Carrburritos' ceviche is made with tilapia marinated in lemon, jalapeno, and cilantro and it's served with two warm flour tortillas. I will say the ceviche was good, but not great. It wasn't among the best ceviche I've had, but it wasn't bad either. I'd order it again. If you like ceviche, I think it's worth trying. Consistent with the other food we tried, all of the ingredients were fresh. However, the ceviche seemed to be lacking something, like an extra flavor/ingredient. I can't put my finger on it. There were lots of fresh jalapenos so the ceviche was nice and spicy. Again, portion size was good with plenty of chunks of fish. Sam M was our cashier. He and all of the staff were cool. Pleasant atmosphere with the customers too. We look forward to coming back and trying more of the menu including the Chipotle and Habanero salsas. I recommend Carrburritos!

    Sweet potato burrito

The sweet potato burrito is to die for! Ever since trying it, I've never gotten anything else. The sweetness-to-cheesy ratio is perfection. Other things I love are their flour tortilla chips and the Fresca salsa. On Tuesdays, they also have a special vegetarian tofu filling that's pretty good. It also helps that Carrburritos is a homey joint that is always filled with locals. I always leave with a full belly and a big smile!

    Pollo 2 Tacos

I got the pollo tacos with soft corn tortillas: tortillas were very soft and didn't fall apart, the ingredients were very fresh too! Other than that, it was pretty basic, nothing too crazy.

Easy place to get a burrito, tacos, or quesadilla and they're all good The workers are so nice and great at their job You'll usually see a friendly familiar face here, and I love that you can sit outside in the little courtyard: it's lovely out there

Carrburritos is a Gem. Location makes Parking a little difficult but we'll worth that "trouble". Once you walk inside you see they've been voted too spot for years by local magazines/blogs/etc. the decor is authentic and fun. They have a old fashioned cigarette vending machine that has been converted to sell small works of art by local artists. So freaking cool. Make your way up front and place your order. Food came out so fast! I was super impressed. This trip (we'll be back!) we decided on the Carnita and the Carne Desebrada (shredded beef) Burritos. Mejor style - adds guac and sour cream. We paid , got our bottles jarritos to drink and walked to our table. We barely started a conversation about the decor when our food arrived. Presentation looked great. Loved the fact they gave you both corn and flour tortilla chips. I actually preferred the flour chips over the corn. The beef in the burrito was so flavorful. Carnitas was very good but needed a bit of salt. The burritos come with your choice of salsas. We got Fresca , Fruitas and verde. They all tasted so fresh and vibrant. I think the Fruitas (pineapple and jalapeño) one would go great with some fish tacos (my order next time for sure) we also ordered the ceviche. When we order we wasn't sure what kind of seafood it would have. Once it got to the table we saw it was fish (tilapia) it was so fresh and crisp. The perfect amount of onions and citrus juice and Fresh jalapeño. The texture was very pleasant. Not fishy at all. So good. It came with radishes , tomatoes and flour tortillas. I ended up bringing those home and just used my chips that came with my meal. Over all wonderful experiences at Carrburritos. The menu had plenty of vegetarian options as well. Give 'em a try! You won't regret it!

While attending a local foodie event, I came across this restaurant at Boxcar Park RTP. The restaurant was nice and clean. The staff was very efficient and the food was delicious.

A bit late on my review since I came here for Mother's Day lunch, but nonetheless, I wanted to…read morereview because the food was delicious. I started with a mango fruity drink. It had a name written on a board outside, and I wish I could remember because I would order it again. Then I tried the Pulpo Al Pastor Taco (they had me at octopus). It came with 2 tacos and a side of maduros aka yellow fried plantains. It did catch me by surprise when the maduros came with a crema on top. I've never had it like that and to my surprise it was good. Also, the Quesadilla Fajita which comes with a side of yellow rice. Food was sooo good. It was very busy this day but service was phenomenal. There's an indoor seating area with a bar but we sat outdoors and enjoyed the beautiful day. Definitely will be back.

Excellent Oaxacan food! Starting off with the chips and salsa, it was very fresh and the chips were…read morenice and crispy. I had the tlayuda, which initially was a bit too hard to eat, but when I reheated it, it softened the tortilla and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Also got the less traditional Crunchwrap with chicken, and that was superb. I picked up my food to-go, so I can't speak much to the ambiance. However, with regard to the service, they began making the food when we came to pick it up (when it should have been ready 25 min earlier). At least it was fresh? But it sucked to have to wait 20 more minutes to be ready when we had ordered it to go. Docking a star for the wait time for a pick up order, but maybe I would feel differently had I eaten there in person.
