The owner Christina was so helpful and pleasant. We were searching for hedges and had no idea what to buy. We looked at other nurseries and even looked at Home Depot & Lowe's. We found the Winter Gem Boxwood (WGB) at another nursery, but they only had a few and their condition was so-so. Called Christina asked her if she had them. They weren't at her location, but had a truckload of plants coming in the next day. And, lucky for us we were able to buy them the next day as she promised. Her worker Jose was also very patient, helpful and friendly. Great people, healthy plants/trees/succulents and very affordable prices, especially cause we're retired and on a fixed income. If we need to spruce up our garden more, we will definitely be going back to Carreon Nursery. Note: It's a hidden gem, located in the residential area of San Gabriel/Rosemead area. read more

Came during the week so I could get some more time to talk to someone about my plant needs. Absolutely no one there - not one person other than the gardeners. So weird. I walked the entire place twice (about 45 minutes I was there - walked all the way up the hill and back 2 times). A wave from one of the men watering but that's it. No one there. A beautiful huge spread of a nursery you can drive around because it's that big !!! Beautiful views and like a true outing to nature. I learned today that they are a family run business of 35 years !! The prices are outstanding !! I felt so connected to the land and the growth of everything. It's quite the place -! I will continue and I will be doing more hanging around the Carreon in the future for more trees and plants for my yard. Its a fun little journey out of the hustle and bustle and bringing back more nature to my Los Angeles Hipsterville concrete yet beautiful tree filled yard. read more

This place is a hidden gem minutes away from my house. Do not come here expecting printed prices, labels, caring instructions, or helpful retail assistance. If that is what you require, go to Lowe's. The prices for plants here cannot be beat. Most are priced by the size of pot, and a gallon pot ranges between $2.50-$5.00 (in my experience). I believe the 5 gallon pots are just a few bucks more. Today, something strange happened. A woman who was working there approached me and said I couldn't buy the plant I was holding, it was hers. I was confused and asked if this was a public nursery, as I had bought from here before. She said yes, but the plant I was holding was her houseplant. I asked how I could tell which plants were for sale, & which were hers. She said the plant that I had, plus the plumerias, were her personal plants. I asked why they were here & not at her house & she said because of the greenhouse. Then she suddenly turned course & offered to sell it to me. She told me to follow her & I did, & she led me to the owner. She let him know I wanted to buy it. I had a collection of other plants I intended to buy gathered by the trailer, and I told him that & asked how I could tell which plants were hers & which plants were for sale. Turns out, they're all for sale. I got 6 beautiful gallon plants for $20. Cash only, great selection. This place has so many butterflies flying around, it's not crowded , & it is refreshingly clear of corporate retail bullshit, I can't recommend it enough. I have so many beautiful thriving plants thanks to this nursery. read more

The prices are beyond amazing .. they have everything from rare breeds of roses to cross breeds . 1 dollar succulents ... and old growth lemon trees and fruit trees.. if you will not find it here, then it does not exist.. they even have pomegranate trees .. Random place ...a turn into a neighborhood. No one at front office. No prices listed. Just left

Just came here to pick up a few drought resistant plants because the city wants our yard to be pretty at the expense of our water availability. I bought 4 succulents for 4$ each (I'll upload pictures later). They accept cash or check. I believe the smaller pots are about 1-3$ each, with the plants in ~5 gallon pots costing about 6$; pretty reasonable prices. The workers are really nice & even let me bring in my dog. You can also bring in your car to drive around or load up your plants if you go on a spree. You can park inside the nursery, but there's plenty of curbside parking along it as well. (Thank goodness; parking will be the death of me. :() I'm starting off small (budget), but I'll probably be back for more. :) read more

I just bought 3 giants trees at this place for $550 and get free delivery. Normally it will cost me more because I like trees and gardening at my house.
