I wanted a French tarragon plant and a lot of people were selling teenie tiny ones for the same price as Mimosa...I wasn't sure they would ship to Minnesota ,but "you betcha" they do! I got my plant super fast and it is in beautiful condition and better than I was anticipating. It was packaged with tender loving care and I will definitely buy from Mimosa Nursery again!

This little tree has some fruits on it.

Price is very competitive. More trees in stock than the location in Rosemead. I think general price is $50 for 5 gallon trees, $100 for 7 gallon trees, and $150 for 15 gallon trees.

Popped in a few Saturdays ago to pick up some Pandan plants with my friends and we ended up leaving with more plants then we needed and we ain't complaining. They have a SUPER wide range of plants to check out, whether its for landscaping, fruit lovers or just tiny plant collectors, they have it all here. I do recommend wearing tennis shoes or closed toes shoes when coming here. There is sand/soil and mud, so you will track it to your car unfortunately. Price: reasonable, idk if they accept cc, but I paid with cash Parking: I think you can park inside? not 100% sure, I parked on the street Restroom: they got a porta potty if you gotta go Customer service: very nice and friendly, once we arrived and saw how big their place was, I was slightly overwhelmed, I was approached by a nice gentleman who asked if i was looking for anything in particular, I told him Pandan and he went to go get it for me, so NICE!

I bought a Longan tree last summer, and happy to say it looks like 2019 will be rather fruitful for its small size and young age.

There are several major north-south roads in this area, and Rosemead Boulevard is one of them. San Gabriel Boulevard is another. The road is wide and easy to drive. The nursery is right across the street from Com Tam Kieu Restaurant, one of the better Vietnamese broken rice restaurants in Southern California. On the way there, I passed a construction site, probably a new apartment building. It strongly gave me the impression of an EB-5 green card project, the kind of real estate development marketed less as a normal apartment building and more as an immigration investment package for Chinese buyers. In the middle of the SGV, that feeling was hard to miss. After that came the nursery. I drove from north to south, made a left turn onto a smaller street, and parked outside. The entrance is tiny. You walk through it and immediately reach the counter, where there was even a line. After that, you pass into an indoor room stocked with fertilizers, plant stakes, soil, mulch, and other gardening supplies. Beyond that is the back garden, which is much larger than expected and quite elegant. The plants are clearly well cared for, and the stone sculptures give the place a strong hint of Chinese culture. Along the edge of the main building, there are stacks of Buddha heads, seated Buddhas, and other stone figures, mostly in Chinese Buddhist or imagined Buddhist styles, though not necessarily following any strict traditional standard. There are Chinese signs everywhere, which makes sense for a nursery in the middle of the SGV. Many of the plants have bilingual names. The prices are not cheap, but they are fair. The orchids are much more expensive than what you would find at Trader Joe's or Costco, but they are also more beautiful and much stronger, so I would not call them overpriced. The plants use different colored tags, similar to what you see in many American discount stores. Some are very cost-effective. It is definitely worth stopping by, and even more worth it if you happen to find some good discounted plants. The cashier was a little rude, but as a Chinese person, I found it completely acceptable. I have seen much worse. Even though she was in a rush, the service was not bad. She even gave me an extra bag so the soil would not spill in my car. Overall, this is a good nursery and I would recommend it. It is even better if you understand Chinese culture, because many of the details will make more sense.

I had lots of questions, & he sent photos of his product before I made the drive. He met me in front of his property with a parking spot waiting! Once in the backyard I was mesmerized by the huge variety. My tree was absolutely perfect! And what a great price! A very healthy, lush avocado tree then caught my eye, but I knew that it took two varieties for proper pollination. I chose a Reed avocado and on the spot he grafted another variety onto the tree. Magic!!! It was a Father's Day gift for my husband, and he was thrilled! The care and attention that this man takes for his product is amazing! He grafts trees and then sells them to larger nurseries who I'm sure have a huge price point. Don't hesitate to connect with Yosar for any tree needs! I'm very grateful I found him.

We were considering removing the trees, but before taking such a drastic step, we decided to consult a fruit tree expert for another opinion. We came across Yosef's name--highly recommended and known for his expertise in organic treatment. We scheduled a house call, and Yosef arrived punctually. He assessed the trees, applied his special fertilizer, treated them for pests, pruned them, and recommended a new watering schedule. Needless to say, ever since then, both lime trees have had exceptional seasons and have never looked better. I find Yosef to be extremely knowledgeable and always willing to share his expertise. He's very responsive whenever I've reached out with questions or concerns, and he's generous with his advice when I send him photos of potential issues. I highly recommend Yosef and his company.

Mimosa Nursery is one of those places you almost have to experience for yourself…read more The inventory is impressive. I've picked up a miracle fruit tree, passion fruit, and wax apples here, and I'm already planning to come back for a sapodilla and sugar apple if he has them in stock. If you're into rare fruit trees, you'll probably find yourself wandering around longer than you planned. The owner reminds me of Deebo from Friday (the movie). He's usually cruising around the nursery on his beach cruiser with a serious look on his face, making rounds and checking on the trees. He isn't the type to walk you through the nursery or give you a guided tour. If you have questions, you'll probably need to flag him down yourself. The funny thing is he kind of grows on you. His answers are usually short and to the point, and if you're serious about varieties, you'll want to do your own research because the labeling can be a little sketchy and his answers aren't always crystal clear. What won me over is that he's fair on pricing and willing to negotiate. On larger trees, I've been able to bargain him down close to 30%, often even a lot more. That's getting harder and harder to find these days at other nurseries. It's definitely not the polished nursery experience you'll get at some of the other places, but that's part of the charm. Good inventory, good deals, and a memorable owner. I'm not making this stuff up. You just have to come experience it yourself. Maybe go on a Friday! :P

When we arrived, we realized we went to the wrong location (our first visit to Mimosa Nursery was somewhere else apparently!) But we still found what we needed. Squirrels and raccoons ate all the fruit, and rats spoiled many of the tomatoes. So I commissioned Raul at VGLA to construct 3 critter cages for fruit trees and one for a raised veggie bed. The results are spectacular. The custom redwood enclosures, utilizing 1/2" chicken wire and latches on the doors, will deter anything as small as a mouse or as large as a bear. AND, because they are as attractive as nice outdoor furniture, they fit into the landscape beautifully. The other day I looked out at the garden, and noticed a forlorn squirrel sitting on top of the cage enclosing my espaliered apple tree. He was unable to find a way to get inside and grab the luscious fruits starting to ripen, finally giving up and skipping away in frustration. Hah! The other day I picked the first ripe apricot, the best I've ever tasted, and reflected on how I can now go to bed every night frustration-free, knowing that all the fruits and tomatoes are safe, without worrying about poisons, pointless trapping, or repellents that never work.
